    • Gunnar Henderson socks 25th homer in O’s loss
Gunnar Henderson went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer on Tuesday in the Orioles’ loss to the Guardians.

Advice: Henderson took Guardians lefty Logan Allen deep in the opening frame for his 25th big fly of the season as part of another multi-hit performance. The 22-year-old franchise cornerstone has lived up to fantasy managers’ lofty expectations entering the year by delivering a robust .282/.383/.607 triple-slash line with 69 runs scored, 25 homers, 55 RBI and 13 steals over 78 contests. • Bryce Harper crushes 20th homer in loss to Tigers
Bryce Harper went 2-for-4 with his 20th home run of the season on Tuesday in the Phillies’ loss to the Tigers.

Advice: Harper broke up a potential shutout with a ninth-inning blast against Tigers stopper Jason Foley with the Phillies trailing by four runs at the time. It may have been a garbage-time round-tripper, but fantasy managers certainly won’t complain. The 31-year-old fantasy superstar has gone deep five times over his last six contests and is up to 20 big flies on the year already. If he stays healthy, Harper has a realistic shot at surpassing his previous career-high mark (42) in the home run department, which he set all the way back in 2015. Rotoworld Today, 5:51 pm

    • Tarik Skubal shuts down Phillies for seven frames
Tarik Skubal recorded seven strikeouts over seven scoreless innings on Tuesday in a win over the Phillies.

Advice: Skubal retired 13 of the final 14 batters he faced in a dominant performance at Comerica Park against a red-hot Phillies lineup. He generated an absurd 19 swinging strikes, including 11 on his changeup alone, and needed just 91 pitches (64 strikes) to navigate seven shutout frames. It was a much-needed rebound for the 27-year-old southpaw after allowing nine runs (eight earned) over his previous two starts against the Braves and Astros, respectively. He’ll carry a stellar 2.32 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 112/19 K/BB ratio across 97 innings (16 starts) into a road matchup on Tuesday against the Twins. Rotoworld Today, 5:50 pm

    • Getting day off Tuesday
Miranda is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: After making four consecutive starts, Miranda will get a breather for Tuesday's series opener in Arizona. Royce Lewis will handle third base duties while Trevor Larnach starts at DH. Rotowire.com Today, 2:03 pm

    • Ups flat-ground throwing distance
Rays manager Kevin Cash said Monday that McClanahan (elbow) has increased his throwing distance to 135 feet, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Cash noted that McClanahan is "doing well" in his recovery from his Aug. 21, 2023 Tommy John surgery, the second such procedure of his career. The southpaw remains unlikely to return from the 60-day injured list in 2024. Rotowire.com Today, 1:15 pm

    • Kyle Tucker (shin) ‘close’ to resuming running
Kyle Tucker (shin) progressed to taking swings on Sunday and could resume running within the next few days.

Advice: The revelation comes courtesy of a team statement. It’s a welcome relief for fantasy managers as we were honestly starting to wonder whether Tucker was dealing with something more serious than merely a shin contusion. He’ll need at least a couple minor league rehab contests to get back up to speed after he’s ready to get back into game action, but it doesn’t sound like he’s too far away from making it back to Houston. • Takes swings, could run soon
Tucker (shin) took swings off a tee Sunday and could be cleared to begin running soon, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Tucker's recovery from a right shin contusion has dragged on longer than anticipated, but it looks like he's finally turned a corner as he resumes baseball activities. He's more than three weeks removed from suffering the injury and still has some hoops to jump through, so he could require a rehab assignment before rejoining the Astros' active roster. • Coming off IL
Triple-A Norfolk reinstated Holliday (elbow) from its 7-day injured list Tuesday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Advice: As part of his recovery, Holliday will serve as exclusively as a designated hitter for multiple weeks and refrain from throwing. The 20-year-old hasn't seen any big-league action since April and is slashing .259/.424/.455 with seven home runs and five steals over 245 plate appearances with Norfolk. • Jackson Holliday (elbow) returns off injured list
Oriole INF prospect Jackson Holliday was reinstated off the seven-day injured list by Triple-A Norfolk.

Advice: Holliday missed 10 days while dealing with inflammation in his elbow. The 20-year-old top prospect will be back in the lineup, but only as a designated hitter for the time being. If Holliday performs well, he still has a chance to return to Baltimore before the 2024 season comes to an end. Rotoworld Today, 11:06 am
