• Pablo López defeats Angels to improve to 2-2
Pablo López picked up his second victory of the 2024 season on Sunday, limiting the Angels to four runs on four hits over his five innings of work.

Advice: López punched out eight batters on the afternoon while allowing only one base on balls. He kept the Angels off the board completely through the first four innings, but they saddled him with four runs in the fifth — courtesy of home runs from Luis Rengifo and Nolan Schanuel. López generated 13 swings and misses on 87 pitches in the contest, posting a strong CSW of 29 percent. He now holds a 4.83 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and a 37/7 K/BB ratio over 31 2/3 innings through his first six starts on the season. He’ll do battle against the Red Sox his next time out at home on Saturday. • Starting Tuesday
Turnbull will start Tuesday's game against the Angels, with Zack Wheeler getting moved back a day and Aaron Nola moved back to Friday, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Advice: Manager Rob Thomson said that he wanted to give Wheeler and Nola the extra rest days, and that he's not inclined to go with a six-man rotation. However, this buys him another start to compare Turnbull against Taijuan Walker and allows us to use Turnbull for another week. Rotowire.com 5 minutes ago
  • Luis Rengifo swats first home run in loss Sunday
Luis Rengifo swatted his first home run of the season on Sunday afternoon as the Angels fell to the Twins.

He was also hit by a pitch in the seventh inning and scored on an RBI single off the bat of Mike Trout. • Reid Detmers gives up five runs in loss to Twins
Reid Detmers struggled in Sunday afternoon’s loss to the Twins, giving up five runs on nine hits over his five frames.

Advice: The 24-year-old hurler struck out three batters on the afternoon and didn’t walk a batter. He kept the Twins off the board through the first three innings, but they broke through in the fourth on an RBI single by Jose Miranda. They tacked on an additional four runs in the fifth inning — keyed by a two-run single off the bat of Austin Martin. Detmers got nine swings and misses on 87 pitches on the night, registering a CSW of 33 percent. He’ll look to bounce back as he brings a 3.12 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and a 37/10 K/BB ratio (34 2/3 innings) into Saturday’s tilt against the Guardians in Cleveland. Rotoworld 9 minutes ago
  • Struggles in Milwaukee
Stroman pitched four innings, giving up four runs on six hits and five walks while striking out four in Sunday's 15-5 win over the Brewers. He did not factor into the decision.

Advice: Stroman was able to survive four scoreless frames to open Sunday's outing before the wheels fell off in the bottom of the fifth. He allowed all five batters he faced in the inning to reach base, including a three-run home run by Jake Bauers, which knotted the game up at 4-4. The 32-year-old has now surrendered five total homers over his last four starts after not giving one up in either of his first two outings in 2024. Stroman now owns a 3.69 ERA and 1.42 WHIP with 32 strikeouts over 31.2 innings in six starts this season and he's tentatively set to return to the mound Friday home for a matchup against the Tigers. • Bryson Stott homers twice in win over Padres
Bryson Stott crushed a pair of two-run homers on Sunday, powering the Phillies to an 8-6 victory over the Padres.

Advice: Stott opened the scoring in the ballgame with a 395-foot (105.7 mph EV) two-run shot off of Michael King in the second inning. He replicated that feat in the fourth inning — this time a 396-foot (103.9 mph EV) two-run shot off of King that gave the Phillies a 4-3 lead. He also grounded into a fielder’s choice in the eighth inning, swiped second base and scored on an RBI double off the bat of Johan Rojas. With the monster day at the dish, the 26-year-old second baseman is now hitting .226/.295/.369 with three homers, 14 RBI and four stolen bases in what has otherwise been a disappointing season. • Ineffective versus New York
Myers pitched five innings, allowing four runs on five hits while striking out five batters in Sunday's 15-5 loss to the Yankees. He did not factor into the decision.

Advice: Myers surrendered a solo homer to Aaron Judge in the top of the first inning and then a three-run shot by Anthony Volpe in the fifth frame accounted for the final tallies on his line. Through two major-league starts this season, the 25-year-old has given up five runs, all of which on three long-balls over 10 innings. If he draws another turn in Milwaukee's rotation, Myers is tentatively lined up to be back on the mound Saturday on the road versus the Cubs. Rotowire.com 31 minutes ago
  • J.T. Realmuto clubs two-run homer in win Sunday
J.T. Realmuto went 2-for-5 with a homer and three RBI on Sunday as the Phillies triumphed over the Padres in San Diego.

Advice: The hard-hitting backstop victimized Padres’ right-hander Michael King for a 421-foot (107.2 mph EV) two-run shot in the sixth inning that extended the Phillies’ lead to 6-3. He also added an insurance run with an RBI single in the seventh inning. With his two-hit afternoon, Realmuto is now hitting .245/.292/.429 with five homers, 14 RBI and one stolen base (three attempts) on the season. Rotoworld 32 minutes ago
  • Three hits in win
Vazquez went 3-for-4 with one run scored and one steal in Sunday's win over the Angels.

Advice: After hitting just .121 (4-for-33) with a home run through his first 11 games, he's hitting .474 (9-for-19) over his last five games. He continues to split playing time behind the plate with Ryan Jeffers, with Jeffers frequently getting starts at DH when Vazquez is behind the dish. Rotowire.com 41 minutes ago
