• Elias Díaz out with left calf tightness
Elias Díaz left Monday’s game with a tight left calf, according to the Rockies.

Advice: This didn’t really use to be a thing, but teams these days just love calling the initial injury “tightness” before admitting to a strain (or sometimes even worse) the next day. Jacob Stallings is filling in for Díaz. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:25 pm

  • Yainer Díaz (finger) out of lineup but available
Yainer Díaz is out of Monday’s lineup because of a bruised right index finger, but he is available off the bench for the Astros.

Advice: Victor Caratini is starting behind the plate against the Giants tonight. Díaz was hurt when he was hit by a foul ball Sunday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:01 pm

  • Dealing with soreness
Diaz isn't starting Monday's game against the Giants due to soreness and limited range of motion in his right index finger, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Diaz took a foul tip to his right hand during Sunday's game against the Angels, and he didn't feel healthy enough to start Monday's series opener. However, manager Joe Espada noted Diaz will be available to pinch hit if needed. Victor Caratini draws the start behind the dish and will bat ninth in Diaz's place. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:59 pm

  • Exits early Monday
Diaz (undisclosed) was removed from Monday's contest against the Twins, Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports.

Advice: Diaz pulled up lame on a groundout in the top of the first inning, being replaced at catcher by Jacob Stallings prior to the bottom of the frame. The team will likely provide an update to Diaz's status following Monday's series opener. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:58 pm

  • Elias Díaz exits game due to leg injury
Elias Díaz left Monday’s game in the first inning with an apparent leg injury sustained running to first base.

Advice: This will probably quiet any trade talk for a while. Jacob Stallings, who has been a nice surprise in limited action this year, took over behind the plate against the Twins. If Díaz goes on the IL, the Rockies could call up another catcher, but they wouldn’t necessarily need to with Hunter Goodman capable of serving as a backup. They don’t have any other catchers on the 40-man roster. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:57 pm

  • Sitting Monday
Diaz is not in the starting lineup for Monday's series opener against the Giants, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Diaz stayed in Sunday's game versus the Angels after being struck in the right hand by a foul tip, but with Cesar Salazar reportedly being recalled, it's possible the hand is still bothering the Astros' starting catcher. The team should have more on his status shortly. Victor Caratini will start behind the dish Monday and bat ninth against Giants southpaw Kyle Harrison. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:59 pm

  • Expected to be recalled
The Astros are expected to recall Salazar from Triple-A Sugar Land on Tuesday, Ari Alexander of KPRC 2 in Houston reports.

Advice: Yainer Diaz was hit in the right hand by a foul tip during Sunday's loss to the Angels. He was able to stay in the game, but Salazar's impending addition to the roster could indicate that Diaz will have to miss some time. The Astros should offer more clarity later Tuesday. • Monster day at plate
O'Hoppe went 4-for-5 with a two-run homer, a double, a steal and three runs scored in Sunday's 9-7 win over the Astros.

Advice: O'Hoppe tallied his second four-hit game of the season and also managed to swipe his first base of the year. Most of his damage came in the later innings, as he scored all three of his runs over the final four frames. He saved his biggest hit of the day for last, as he took Josh Hader deep on the first pitch he saw to walk things off for the Angels and cap off an excellent offensive showing. O'Hoppe is now riding a mini four-game hit streak and has eight hits over that span. After his monstrous performance, the 24-year-old backstop is slashing .269/.322/.446 with eight homers, 28 RBI, 27 runs and a 13:51 BB:K in 209 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:19 am
  • Logan O’Hoppe fills up box score, walks off Astros
Logan O’Hoppe had a monster day at the dish in Sunday’s 9-7 victory over the Astros, going 4-for-5 with a double and a walk-off home run.

Advice: The hard-hitting 24-year-old backstop reached on an error to start the sixth inning, swiped second base and scored on an RBI single off the bat of Mickey Moniak. He then led off the eighth inning with a double and scored on an RBI double by Zach Neto as the Angels rallied to tie the game. O’Hoppe saved the best for last though, tagging Astros’ closer Josh Hader for a 364-foot (96.4 mph EV) two-run blast on the first pitch that he saw in the ninth inning — sending the home faithful into a frenzy. With his four-hit afternoon, O’Hoppe is now hitting .269/.322/.446 with eight homers, 22 RBI and one solitary stolen base. Rotoworld Sunday, 4:54 pm
