• Yet to get on track
Suwinski went 1-for-4 with a double, a walk, an RBI and a run scored Thursday against the Brewers.

Advice: Suwinski delivered an RBI double in the fifth inning and came around to score to give the Pirates the lead. It was his second consecutive start with a double, but he had only five hits in 24 at-bats across a seven-game homestand. Suwinski has cut his strikeout rate to 17.2 percent -- down from 32.2 percent in 2023 -- but that has yet to lead to positive results, as he's batting .183 with two home runs across 93 plate appearances. • Goes deep in victory
Hernandez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Thursday in a 2-1 win over Washington.

Advice: Hernandez's second-inning solo shot put the Dodgers on the board and amounted for half of the team's total output of runs in the low-scoring win. The long ball was the slugger's sixth of the campaign and his first over his past 11 contests. Hernandez has trailed off a bit of late after a strong start to his Dodgers tenure, but he still ranks second on the team and is tied for 11th in the majors with 20 RBI. • Slugs third homer in loss
Profar went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, two total runs, three total RBI and a walk in a loss to the Rockies on Thursday.

Advice: Profar plated San Diego's second run of the contest with a single in the third inning and tacked on a two-run homer in the seventh. The big performance lifted his season slash line to .295/.406/.466. Profar ranks third on the Padres with 26 hits and leads the club with 18 RBI. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:08 pm
  • Continues to hit
Refsnyder went 2-for-5 with a triple, an RBI and a run scored in Thursday's 6-4 loss to the Guardians.

Advice: Refsnyder is raking during a five-game hit streak, going 9-for-20 with extra-base hits in all five contests. The plan was for him to play against left-handers, but injuries to key players have led to four of his five starts against right-handers, against whom he's 7-for-16 with five extra-base hits. • Homers in loss
Smith started at shortstop and went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 4-3 loss to Seattle.

Advice: Smith launched his first homer of the season in the fourth inning, which tied the game momentarily before the Mariners plated two a half-inning later. He got the start at shortstop while primary starter Corey Seager served as DH a day after he left a game with a bruised shin. If Seager is limited to DH for a bit, Smith will be the primary fill-in at short. If Seager is ready for a defensive role, then Smith will go back to sharing third base with Ezequiel Duran. Smith is batting .292/.393/.417 over 84 plate appearances, much better than his previous two MLB seasons would indicate. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:59 pm

  • Nolan Jones sits out Thursday with back issue
Nolan Jones (back) remained out of the lineup for Thursday’s series finale against the Padres.

Advice: It seems like Jones will be ready to return for this weekend’s highly-anticipated series against the Astros in Mexico City after sitting out a pair of contests against the Padres following an early exit from Tuesday’s game due to back stiffness. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. There should be some clarity on his status at some point later this week. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:12 pm

  • Jurickson Profar homers, plates three in loss
Jurickson Profar homered and drove in three runs against the Padres on Thursday.

Advice: Profar took Nick Mears deep in the seventh inning to extend the Padres’ lead to 8-4 in the seventh inning. He also picked up an RBI with a single in the third off an ineffective Dakota Hudson. Profar is off to a very nice start to the 2024 campaign with an .872 OPS, three homers and 18 RBI over San Diego’s first 28 games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:16 pm
  • Cranks third homer
Brennan went 2-for-4 with a double and a solo home run in Thursday's 6-4 win over the Red Sox.

Advice: Brennan opened the scoring with a solo shot off Chase Anderson in the second inning, his third homer of the year. Brennan's started to swing the bat well recently -- he's now 6-for-13 with five extra-base hits (including two homers) in his last four games. The left-handed Brennan has gotten the majority of starts in right field this season with Ramon Laureano occupying the short side of the platoon. He's now slashing .250/.310/.453 through 71 plate appearances with 11 runs scored, 10 RBI and two stolen bases. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:51 pm
  • Josh Smith homers and doubles in loss to Mariners
Josh Smith homered and doubled in a loss to the Mariners on Thursday.

Advice: Smith picked up one of two homers the Rangers hit off of Luis Castillo, and his was a solo shot that tied the game at 2-2. The left-handed hitting infielder is off to a strong start with the bat to open 2023, as the two extra-base hits has him slashing .292/.393/.417 over 72 at-bats. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:59 pm
