• Nathan Eovaldi fans six in victory over the Royals
Nathan Eovaldi snagged his fourth victory of the season on Friday night, limiting the Royals to two runs on four hits over his six innings of work.

Advice: The 34-year-old right-hander punched out six batters on the night while allowing two walks. He served up a solo homer to Kyle Isbel in the third inning and an RBI single to Garrett Hampson in the fifth but was able to limit the damage otherwise. Eovaldi got 14 swings and misses on 98 pitches on the evening, posting a CSW of 27 percent. He’ll see if he can keep the good times rolling as he carries a 3.14 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and a 70/25 K/BB ratio (66 innings) into Wednesday’s battle against the Brewers in Milwaukee. • Brady Singer pitches well in no-decision on Friday
Brady Singer pitched well in a no-decision against the Rangers on Friday night, allowing just one run on three hits over his five frames.

Advice: Singer racked up four strikeouts on the evening while surrendering a pair of free passes. The lone run that scored against him came on an RBI double off the bat of Wyatt Langford in the fourth inning. Singer exited with a 2-1 lead and in line for a victory, but the Royals’ bullpen was unable to oblige. The 27-year-old hurler got nine whiffs on 89 pitches on the night, registering a CSW of 24 percent. He’ll carry a 3.29 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and an 80/25 K/BB ratio (82 innings) into Wednesday’s matchup against the Marlins. Rotoworld 7 minutes ago

  • Chased in second inning
Rodriguez (0-2) yielded five runs (four earned) on two hits and three walks over 1.1 innings Friday, striking out one batter and taking a loss against the Guardians.

Advice: Rodriguez began his outing with a scoreless inning before Cleveland racked up seven runs in the second frame. It was his first appearance since April 29 due to a back injury. His season ERA jumped from 4.11 to 5.94 through 16.2 innings. The 27-year-old righty is currently lined up for his next appearance in Boston next week. Rodriguez has yet to complete more than four innings in a start this season. Rotowire.com 13 minutes ago
  • Earns third straight win
Montgomery (6-4) earned the win against the Phillies on Friday, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk with five strikeouts over six innings.

Advice: Montgomery tossed two scoreless innings before surrendering a two-run home run to Trea Turner in the third. He responded with three straight scoreless innings and left the game with a 4-2 lead after throwing 83 pitches. Montgomery earned his third consecutive win while registering his first quality start in June, as he has not reached 90 pitches in an outing since May 19. On the season, Montgomery owns a 5.71 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 44:22 K:BB over 63 innings and tentatively lines up to face the Twins next week. Rotowire.com 24 minutes ago
  • Fans seven in win
Carrasco (3-6) allowed a run on four hits over six innings Friday, striking out seven and earning a win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Carrasco kept Toronto off the board until he coughed up a solo homer to Vladimir Guerrero in the fourth inning. Carrasco entered Friday's game in a rough stretch, going 0-4 with a 5.96 ERA over his previous five starts since his last win May 5. The veteran righty lowered his season ERA to 5.40 with a 51:21 K:BB after punching out a season-high seven batters Friday. With Gavin Williams (elbow) expected to return soon, Carrasco's role moving forward is unclear. Rotowire.com 26 minutes ago

  • Chris Sale stifles Yankees, earns win
Chris Sale struck out eight Yankees and allowed just one run across five innings in an 8-1 win on Friday. He walked three while the Yankees had just one hit.

Advice: Sale was on one in this start. Aaron Judge and Juan Soto were a combined 0-for-4 with four punch outs against the gangly left-hander and just two Yankees reached second base. More notable, Sale’s velocity was up nearly two ticks across the board. His fastball topped out at 98.4 MPH, the fastest he’s thrown a pitch in more than 13 months. Healthy, dominant, fiery, Sale looks like his old self and a bona fide Cy Young candidate so far this season. Rotoworld 27 minutes ago

  • Earns ninth save
Sewald earned a save against the Phillies on Friday, retiring all three batters he faced in the ninth inning.

Advice: Tasked with preserving a 5-4 lead in the ninth inning, Sewald needed just 11 pitches to secure his ninth save of the year. Sewald has not allowed a run since his first outing of the season May 7 and is a perfect 9-for-9 in save chances. He now owns a sparkling 0.66 ERA, 0.51 WHIP and 12:3 K:BB over 13.2 innings in 2024. • Carlos Rodón touched up by Braves
Carlos Rodón allowed seven earned runs on Friday against the Braves. They had 11 hits while Rodón struck out just three and walked two.

Advice: Rodón was never comfortable in this one. New York is in the midst of a massive heat wave and Rodón spent most of his time rubbing the ball for a better grip and wiping sweat from his face. His slider was all over the place, which could potentially be explained by poor grip. Rodón will look to right the ship next week in Toronto. Rotoworld 30 minutes ago
