• Extends hitting streak
Gonzales went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, two RBI and two runs scored Saturday against Colorado.

Advice: Gonzales tallied Pittsburgh's first run of the game with a solo home run in the fourth inning, his fifth long ball of the season. That knock also extended his hitting streak to six games, and he's hitting .292 with nine RBI and five runs scored across 12 contests in June. Rotowire.com Today, 7:08 am

  • Nick Gonzales lifts homer in blowout loss to COL
Nick Gonzales homered and drove home two runs in a loss to the Rockies on Saturday.

Advice: Gonzales tied the game at 1-1 with a solo homer off Ty Blach in the fourth frame. The former top prospect has been able to pick up five homers in his 117 at-bats, and that roundtripper along with an RBI on a fielder’s choice give him 25 on the year. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:59 pm

  • Sitting Saturday
Schneider is not in the starting lineup Saturday versus the Guardians, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Advice: Schneider will take a seat after he went 3-for-8 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored over the team's last two contests. Daulton Varsho will slot in at left field while Kevin Kiermaier (knee) returns to the lineup in center field and bats ninth against Cleveland. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:31 am

  • Nolan Gorman goes 0-for-4 against Pirates
Nolan Gorman finished 0-for-4 as the Cardinals’ cleanup man Thursday against the Pirates.

Advice: Gorman is 3-for-31 in his last eight games, putting him back down to .215/.297/.463 for the season. That’s still a pretty good line in the current offensive climate, but he’d be better cast as a No. 6 hitter. Rotoworld Thursday, 2:57 pm

  • Collects season-high four hits
Albies went 4-for-5 with two doubles, an RBI and two runs scored Thursday against the Orioles.

Advice: Albies' first-inning double set the stage for Atlanta to take an early lead, and his double in the ninth eventually led to a couple of insurance runs as a tight one-run lead turned into a three-run victory. Albies collected multiple hits for the 17th time this season, though it's just the second time he's had three or more in a game. His four-hit effort came on the heels of a seven-game stretch in which he had collected just four hits total, batting .143 over 28 at-bats during that span. Rotowire.com Thursday, 2:06 pm

  • Ozzie Albies collects four hits against Orioles
Ozzie Albies had four hits, including a pair of doubles, and two runs scored Thursday against the Orioles.

Advice: That as many hits as he had in his previous seven games combined. Albies hasn’t been a disaster for the Braves this season, but he has been quite a fantasy disappointment, mostly because he’s been limited to four homers in 58 games. He finished with 33 in 148 games last year. It’s the result of injuries and the short 2020, but it’s kind of funny that through Albies’ first seven seasons (not including the partial 2024), he’s had at least 24 homers four times and no more than eight the other three years. • Getting day off
Gonzales is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game in St. Louis.

Advice: Gonzales looks to be getting a routine maintenance day after he had started in every game for the Pirates dating back to May 13. The second-year infielder recorded a double in both of the first two games of the series, giving him 12 extra-base hits through 119 plate appearances on the season. Jared Triolo will get the nod at second base Thursday while Gonzales rests. Rotowire.com Thursday, 8:36 am

  • Davis Schneider posts two hits, homers in loss
Davis Schneider went 2-for-4 with a solo homer on Wednesday in the Blue Jays’ loss to the Brewers.

Advice: Schneider took Brewers starter Tobias Myers deep in the opening frame to supply Toronto’s lone run of the contest until he helped spark a furious ninth-inning rally that came up just short. It was the first time he’s gone deep since May 31. He’s given up some leadoff opportunities to rookie Spencer Horwitz over the last few days, but appears likely to continue batting near the top of the Blue Jays’ lineup. Rotoworld Wednesday, 1:58 pm

  • Logs steal in loss
Steer went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and an RBI in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to Cleveland.

Advice: Steer recorded his 12th steal in 65 games, putting him on pace to surpass the 15 he had over 156 games in 2023. Speed was not a hallmark to his game in the minors, but the running Reds have changed that. On an unrelated note, the team received news that first baseman Christian Encarnacion-Strand is mulling season-ending wrist surgery. That means Steer, who has been the primary fill-in for Encarnacion-Strand in recent weeks, may continue on as Cincinnati's regular at first base. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 3:54 am
