• Quick absence expected
Pham (ankle) was scheduled to start running again Friday, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Pham hit the injured list Tuesday after suffering a sprained ankle Sunday. However, manager Pedro Grifol noted that Pham already feels better and is only expected to be on the injured list for the short term. He can be activated as early as June 13, though it's unclear if that is a realistic timeline. Rotowire.com 4 minutes ago

  • Back in majors
The Astros recalled Loperfido from Triple-A Sugar Land on Friday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Kyle Tucker landed on the injured list earlier Friday due to a bruised shin, so Loperfido will return to Houston to fill the opening in the Astros' outfield group. The 25-year-old played in 14 games for the Astros earlier in the season, slashing .333/.381/.436 with five RBI through 43 plate appearances before being sent back down May 26. He'll likely start often against right-handed pitchers while filling in for Tucker. Rotowire.com 22 minutes ago

  • Report: Astros call up Loperfido to replace Tucker
Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports that the Astros will call up Joey Loperfido from Triple-A Sugar Land prior to Saturday’s game against the Angels.

Advice: Loperfido will replace Kyle Tucker, as Tucker was placed on the injured list prior to Friday’s game versus the Halos due to a shin contusion. Loperfido is considered one of the better hitting prospects in the Houston system, and he more than held his own in his previous stint with the Astros with a slash of .333/.381/.436 over 14 games. He’s certainly worthy of consideration for fantasy players. Rotoworld 30 minutes ago

  • Delivers walk-off blast
Bleday went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 2-1 win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Bleday's blast was the Athletics' fifth hit of the game, but it was enough to earn a walk-off win. The outfielder is batting .294 (10-for-34) over his last nine contests, but this was his first homer since May 24. For the season, he's at a .246/.328/.469 slash line with nine long balls, 23 RBI, 26 runs scored, 18 doubles, three triples and no stolen bases over 65 games. Rotowire.com 32 minutes ago

  • MJ Melendez homers, drives in four in comeback win
MJ Melendez hit a two-run homer and drove home four runs in a victory over the Mariners on Friday.

Advice: Melendez got the Royals back into the game with a three-run blast off Bryce Miller to turn an 8-1 deficit into an 8-4 game. He drove in another run in the sixth on a fielder’s choice. Melendez has been a major disappointment with a slash of .167/.233/.339, but the 25-year-old is far from bereft of offensive talent. Expect better things over the final 90-plus contests. • Teoscar Hernández delivers in 11th in Dodgers’ win
Teoscar Hernández went 2-for-4 and doubled in two runs in the 11th to propel the Dodgers past the Yankees 2-1 on Friday.

Advice: It was a scoreless game until Hernández delivered the contest’s first big hit off Ian Hamilton in the 11th. It actually gave him his first multi-RBI game since May 14. He was often leading the league in RBI for the first month and a half, but he came into this one having driven in a total of three runs in last 20 games. Rotoworld Today, 7:55 pm

  • Boone: Soto ‘wasn’t an option’ Friday vs. Dodgers
Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters after Friday’s extra-innings loss to the Dodgers that Juan Soto (forearm) wasn’t available.

Advice: Soto left Thursday’s game with inflammation in his forearm, and there was some speculation that the outfielder could be available off the bench for Friday’s contest. Several possibilities passed where Soto could have entered, but Boone kept the outfielder on the bench. It’s possible that the slugger could return over the weekend, but the Yankees aren’t going to rush the superstar back. Rotoworld Today, 7:44 pm

  • Knocks three hits
De La Cruz went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in Friday's win over Cleveland.

Advice: De La Cruz put the Marlins on the board with his solo shot in the third inning and later smacked another extra-base hit. He's gone deep 11 times this season, though just two of those have come in his last 17 contests. He's slashing .252/.306/.427 with 21 extra-base hits and 28 RBI through 268 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Today, 7:36 pm

  • Ozuna smacks two doubles in loss Friday
Marcell Ozuna went 2-for-4 with a run scored and two doubles against the Nationals on Friday.

Advice: On a night when the Braves offense had only four hits against Nationals starter Jake Irvin, Ozuna managed to double off Irvin twice. Ozuna is up to .316 on the season and could be in competition with Shohei Ohtani for the triple crown in the National League if he keeps this up. Rotoworld Today, 7:16 pm
