• Mike Yastrzemski swats solo homer against Boston
Mike Yastrzemski hit a solo homer in the Giants’ win over the Red Sox on Thursday.

Advice: Yastrzemski got the Giants on the board with a solo shot off Josh Winckowski in the third inning. The 33-year-old left for a pinch-hitter after Boston brought in lefty Brennan Bernardino, but at least he was able to pick up his third homer and 12th RBI before exiting. Rotoworld Today, 2:16 pm

  • Christopher Morel swats three-run homer in loss
Christopher Morel connected on a three-run homer Thursday in an extra-inning loss to the Mets.

Advice: Morel extended the Cubs’ lead to 4-0 in the fifth with a three-run blast off Adrian Houser. The second-year infielder has gone deep five times, and he’s now up to 17 RBI over Chicago’s 32 games. It’s nice to see some offensive success again, as Morel has scuffled as of late to drop his line to .209/.287/.383. Rotoworld Today, 2:11 pm

  • Travis Jankowski plates two in win over Nationals
Travis Jankowski smacked a two-run single on Thursday, lifting the Rangers to a 6-0 victory over the Nationals.

Advice: Jankowski came off the bench and padded Texas’ late lead with a two-run single in the bottom of the eighth inning. The 32-year-old veteran outfielder has played sparingly this season due to the Rangers’ tremendous position player depth, but he remains an extremely valuable bench component for the defending World Series champions. • Jesús Sánchez knocks in game-winner in 10th
Jesús Sánchez went 1-for-4 with the hit being a game-winning single in the 10th against the Rockies on Thursday.

Advice: With the score tied 7-7, Sánchez went the opposite way to score Luis Arraez to give Miami the victory and their third-consecutive win. So far in 2024 Sánchez has driven in 13 runs over 33 games, and he’s slashing .237/.298/.316. Expect lots of ups and downs for the outfielder throughout the campaign. Rotoworld Today, 1:58 pm

  • Makes impact as pinch runner
Ruiz entered Wednesday's win over the Pirates as a pinch runner in the bottom of the eighth inning, recording a stolen base and subsequently scoring a run.

Advice: The speedy outfielder offered a spark off the bench after being tasked with running for Abraham Toro, swiping second base and subsequently coming home on Kyle McCann's single. The steal was only Ruiz's fourth in 16 games this season, but his second in the last three contests. The 25-year-old has also shown a welcome increase in pop early in the campaign, as he sports an impressive .861 OPS thanks in large part to having laced five of his nine hits for extra bases. Advice: Wade went 0-for-6 with three walks and an RBI while starting at first base in each of the last three games, but he'll get a day off as the Giants and Red Sox wrap up their series with an afternoon contest. • Returns from 7-day IL
Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre reinstated Gonzalez (orbital) from its 7-day injured list Tuesday.

Advice: Gonzalez picked up his first starts of the season for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday and Wednesday, going 1-for-9 with an RBI, a run and a stolen base. The 26-year-old outfielder/designated hitter missed the first month of the season while recovering from a fractured right orbital, which he sustained when he fouled a ball off his face in a March 25 exhibition. Gonzalez appeared in five rehab games for Single-A Tampa before joining Scranton/Wilkes-Barre's active roster. Rotowire.com Today, 7:52 am

  • Getting breather Thursday
Stanton is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game in Baltimore, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Advice: Stanton is getting Thursday off after he went 1-for-10 with a 3:2 K:BB in the first three games of the series. Aaron Judge will get a day out of the outfield and will replace Stanton as the Yankees' designated hitter. Rotowire.com Today, 7:38 am
