• Heads to bench Thursday
Gordon is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rockies, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Gordon usually exits the lineup when the Marlins oppose southpaws, but he'll hit the bench Thursday with a right-hander (Peter Lambert) taking the hill for Colorado. Gordon's move to the bench comes while he's gone 2-for-30 at the dish over his last 10 games, dropping his batting average to .167 for the season. Dane Myers will get the start in left field Thursday, and he could soon displace Gordon as the Marlins' preferred option at the position if Gordon's struggles at the dish continue. • Back on bench Thursday
Brujan is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rockies, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Brujan had started in five of the previous six games, with the first three coming at third base and the last two coming at shortstop. He had been filling in for Tim Anderson (thumb) the past two days, but Anderson is on track to return to his usual spot at shortstop for the series finale with the Rockies. Brujan looks set to vie with Emmanuel Rivera for playing time at the hot corner moving forward, though both could be headed for reserve roles soon with Jake Burger (oblique) having already initiated a rehab assignment and poised to return from the 10-day injured list in the near future. • Orioles designate Yohan Ramírez for assignment
Orioles designated RHP Yohan Ramírez for assignment.

Advice: Ramírez hits waivers as the Orioles needed to make room on the roster for Kyle Bradish. The 28-year-old reliever was acquired by the O’s via trade with the Mets in early April and made five appearances for Baltimore where he posted a 6.00 ERA, 0.83 WHIP with a 6/2 K/BB ratio across six innings of work. • Orioles activate Kyle Bradish (elbow) from IL
Orioles activated Kyle Bradish (elbow) from the 15-day injured list.

Advice: Bradish will get his first action on the bump this season against divisional rival New York in the final game of a four-game series. The 27-year-old right-hander has been on the injured list since the start of the regular season and comes back at a good time as the team had to place Grayson Rodriguez on the injured list on Wednesday. If he’s not already on a roster, fantasy managers should pick Bradish up as he can be a valuable starter in all formats. Rotoworld 38 minutes ago

  • Activated, starting Thursday
The Orioles reinstated Bradish (elbow) from the 15-day injured list and will have him start Thursday's game against the Yankees at Camden Yards.

Advice: Baltimore lost Grayson Rodriguez (shoulder) to the 15-day IL on Wednesday, but they'll add two pitchers back into the rotation this week with Bradish returning Thursday and John Means (elbow) expected to take the hill Friday or Saturday in Cincinnati. Bradish was diagnosed with a sprained UCL in his pitching elbow upon reporting to spring training, but he was able to avoid surgery and has seemingly bounced back from the injury after a lengthy rest and rehab period. He closed his three-start minor-league rehab assignment on a high note last Friday with Triple-A Norfolk, striking out six over five innings and allowing one run on five hits and one walk. He built up to 77 pitches in that outing and should have only a light workload restriction in place Thursday when he makes his 2024 Orioles debut. Bradish emerged as arguably the Orioles' top starter in his second MLB season in 2023, logging a 2.83 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 168:44 K:BB across 168.2 innings. Rotowire.com 40 minutes ago

  • Booted from 40-man roster
The Orioles designated Ramirez for assignment Thursday, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Advice: Ramirez is the roster casualty as the Orioles bring back Kyle Bradish (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to start Thursday's contest versus the Yankees. The 28-year-old reliever holds an 8.74 ERA over eight relief appearances this season between the Mets and Orioles. Rotowire.com 41 minutes ago

  • Back in action Thursday
Anderson (thumb) will start at shortstop and bat sixth in Thursday's game versus the Rockies, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Anderson missed two starts with a mild left thumb sprain, which he suffered during Monday's 7-2 loss to the Nationals. The Marlins were hoping for a bounce-back season from the veteran shortstop following a disastrous 2023 campaign, but Anderson has actually been worse so far in 2024, slashing a mere .221/.267/.253 over 29 games. • Red Sox option Enmanuel Valdez to Triple-A
Red Sox optioned Enmanuel Valdez to Triple-A Worcester.

Advice: Valdez will head down to the minors as the Red Sox add Zack Short to their active roster. The 25-year-old struggled early on this season, striking out 33% of the time and slashing .156/.186/.267 in his 28 games played. Rotoworld 51 minutes ago

  • Sent back to minors
The Red Sox optioned Valdez to Triple-A Worcester on Thursday, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Valdez will head back to the minors to make room on the roster for infielder Zack Short, who was acquired via trade Wednesday and has now been added to the 26-man active roster. The 25-year-old has slashed just .156/.186/.267 across 28 games with the big club this season. Rotowire.com 55 minutes ago
