    • Accounts for team's only runs
Grisham went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Thursday's loss to the Blue Jays.

Advice: Grisham plated New York's only two runs of the game with a blast to left field in the fifth inning. The outfielder has just 10 hits in 69 at-bats this season for a paltry .145 average, though half of those hits have been homers. All five of Grisham's long balls have come against right-handed pitchers. Rotowire.com 6 minutes ago
    • Encouraging outing
Thielbar threw 1.1 scoreless innings without a strikeout or walk Thursday against Arizona.

Advice: It was a confidence building performance for Thielbar who had struggled in June. Thielbar had allowed nine runs (seven earned) and eight hits in his previous 3.2 innings over seven games. He had seemingly lost the ability to control his big breaking curve ball, but looked back to form Thursday. He's been limited to lower-leverage roles while he works out of his slump. • Davis Daniel goes eight scoreless in 2024 debut
David Daniel shut out the Tigers for eight innings and struck out eight to prevail in his 2024 debut Thursday.

Advice: Daniel allowed just four hits in the 5-0 victory for the Angels. His velocity was actually down from his major league outings last year — he averaged 91.7 mph and topped out at 93.0 mph with his fastball tonight — but he induced 13 missed swings and had a 35% CSW. We’re still not particularly optimistic here, even if his peripherals were considerably better than his 5.33 ERA in Triple-A, but it’s certainly a nice start that should serve to keep him in the rotation for now. • Akil Baddoo strikes out three times
Akil Baddoo struck out all three times up against the Angels on Thursday.

Advice: Parker Meadows ought to have replaced Baddoo in the Tigers’ outfielder a week or two ago, but maybe it’ll finally happen now. Baddoo is just 3-for-33 this month, and the Tigers would benefit from playing Meadows in center and Riley Greene in a corner. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:45 pm
    • Swats second homer
Marchan went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Thursday in a loss to the Marlins.

Advice: Marchan belted a solo shot in the fourth inning to give the Phillies a 2-0 lead. It was the backstop's second long ball over 30 plate appearances this season, which is as many homers as he hit across 224 plate appearances in the minors last year. Marchan has shown much more promise as a contact hitter than as a power hitter during his professional career, though three of his seven hits in the majors this year have gone for extra bases. • Picks up another quality start
Rogers allowed three runs on six hits and four walks while striking out four batters over six innings in a no-decision against Philadelphia on Thursday.

Advice: Rogers threw just 57 of 103 pitches for strikes and tied a season high with four free passes, but he still managed to record his third consecutive quality start. The southpaw doesn't have any wins in those outings, but he's posted a nice 3.26 ERA with a 12:5 K:BB over 19.1 innings during that stretch. Rogers' ERA on the season still sits at a much less alluring 4.87, though it's at 3.56 across five starts in June. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:11 pm
    • Secures first career save
Hodge worked around a hit to toss a scoreless 10th inning and earn the save in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Giants. He struck out one.

Advice: Incumbent closer Hector Neris pitched a clean ninth inning, then Hodge closed the door in the 10th, giving the rookie his first career MLB save. The 23-year-old righty has been solid so far with a 1.80 ERA and 15 strikeouts across 10 innings. The veteran Neris should stick in the closer role for now, but Hodge seems to be a viable option if the need arises. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:55 pm

    • Mikolas hammered for 10 runs in loss Thursday
Miles Mikolas allowed 10 runs (nine earned) in 4 1/3 innings and took the loss against the Reds on Thursday.

Advice: Mikolas gave up 12 hits, walked one and struck out one. This was a disaster of a start for Mikolas. He only allowed one home run, but the Reds had a hit parade against Mikolas, who allowed a .478 BABIP in this start. Mikolas was hit hard as eight of the 12 hits went for extra bases including six doubles, a triple by Elly De La Cruz and a home run off the bat of Spencer Steer. He’s seen his ERA go from 4.59 to 5.32 in his last two starts. The 35-year-old right-hander will look to turn the page against the Pirates on the road next week.

    • Grisham swats fifth home run against Blue Jays
Trent Grisham went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run against the Blue Jays on Thursday.

Advice: Grisham provided all of the Yankees offense on Thursday. He hit a two-run home run off Jose Berrios in the fifth inning. It was only his fifth home run of the season, but he should continue to see an increase in playing time in the Yankees outfield with Giancarlo Stanton on the shelf. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:50 pm
