    • Picks up another quality start
Rogers allowed three runs on six hits and four walks while striking out four batters over six innings in a no-decision against Philadelphia on Thursday.

Advice: Rogers threw just 57 of 103 pitches for strikes and tied a season high with four free passes, but he still managed to record his third consecutive quality start. The southpaw doesn't have any wins in those outings, but he's posted a nice 3.26 ERA with a 12:5 K:BB over 19.1 innings during that stretch. Rogers' ERA on the season still sits at a much less alluring 4.87, though it's at 3.56 across five starts in June. Rotowire.com Today, 10:11 pm

    • Secures first career save
Hodge worked around a hit to toss a scoreless 10th inning and earn the save in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Giants. He struck out one.

Advice: Incumbent closer Hector Neris pitched a clean ninth inning, then Hodge closed the door in the 10th, giving the rookie his first career MLB save. The 23-year-old righty has been solid so far with a 1.80 ERA and 15 strikeouts across 10 innings. The veteran Neris should stick in the closer role for now, but Hodge seems to be a viable option if the need arises. Rotowire.com Today, 7:55 pm

    • Mikolas hammered for 10 runs in loss Thursday
Miles Mikolas allowed 10 runs (nine earned) in 4 1/3 innings and took the loss against the Reds on Thursday.

Advice: Mikolas gave up 12 hits, walked one and struck out one. This was a disaster of a start for Mikolas. He only allowed one home run, but the Reds had a hit parade against Mikolas, who allowed a .478 BABIP in this start. Mikolas was hit hard as eight of the 12 hits went for extra bases including six doubles, a triple by Elly De La Cruz and a home run off the bat of Spencer Steer. He’s seen his ERA go from 4.59 to 5.32 in his last two starts. The 35-year-old right-hander will look to turn the page against the Pirates on the road next week.

    • Trevor Rogers completes six frames vs. Phillies
Trevor Rogers allowed three runs over six innings on Thursday in a no-decision against the Phillies.

Advice: Rogers completed six innings for the fourth time in his last five starts and threw 103 pitches (57 strikes), his most in a single start since May 14, 2022. He struck out four and also handed out four free passes. He’ll square off against the Red Sox on Wednesday in his next outing. Rotoworld Today, 6:25 pm

    • Athletics outright Aaron Brooks to Triple-A
Athletics sent RHP Aaron Brooks outright to Triple-A Las Vegas.

Advice: Brooks passed through waivers unclaimed and will remain with Oakland moving forward as extra pitching depth. The 34-year-old journeyman righty has made five appearances (four starts) this season for the Athletics. Rotoworld Today, 5:45 pm
    • Patrick Sandoval undergoes elbow surgery
Patrick Sandoval underwent season-ending left elbow surgery on Wednesday.

Advice: No word yet whether Sandoval went a full Tommy John ligament replacement or a less invasive internal brace procedure. The 27-year-old southpaw is expected to miss most of, if not all, of the 2025 campaign. Rotoworld Today, 5:35 pm

    • Shuster gets win with three in relief
Jared Shuster picked up the win while throwing three scoreless innings in relief in the first game of a doubleheader against Atlanta.

Advice: Shuster came in to work three innings of bulk relief after Chad Kuhl exited after three frames. The 25-year-old is the 27th player for the doubleheader against Atlanta — Shuster’s former organization — and he made a case for staying up while striking out two and allowing just one hit. Shuster has pitched well in his limited chances with the White Sox, but even if he did get called up into a full-time role, there’s a lot working against him as a potential fantasy option. • Michael Kopech picks up save vs. Atlanta
Michael Kopech pitched a scoreless ninth to get a save Thursday against Atlanta.

Advice: Kopech didn’t allow a hit while picking up a strikeout. That’s the sixth save of the season for the 28-year-old, and the scoreless frame lowered his ERA to a still-shaky 4.59 on the 2024 season. Kopech is a trade candidate that could be playing elsewhere, but his fantasy value would be severely limited if he’s not a closer. Rotoworld Today, 4:56 pm

    • Jake Bloss (shoulder) resumes throwing
Jake Bloss (shoulder) has resumed throwing.

Advice: Bloss was placed on the injured list last week with right shoulder inflammation, but a subsequent MRI revealed no structural damage, and he’s targeting a return to Houston’s injury-depleted pitching mix when first eligible to return. Rotoworld Today, 4:49 pm
