    • Delivers winning run
Carroll went 1-for-4 with a walk and an RBI in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Reds.

Advice: Carroll delivered the go-ahead run on a two-out single in the top of the eighth inning, a half inning after the Reds plated three runs to tie the game. The outfielder returned to the top of the order this week after a season-opening slump dropped him to the lower third in late April. He's worked through the slow start, which he attributed to a flat swing, per Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports. Indeed, Carroll's gotten under balls which has contributed to a pop-up rate of 15.2 percent, more than double than what it was in 2023 (7.3 percent). Rotowire.com Today, 4:43 am
    • Records four-out save
Hader earned a save against the Yankees on Thursday, allowing one hit and striking out one batter over 1.1 scoreless innings.

Advice: Hader was called upon with two outs and a runner on first with Houston protecting a one-run lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. He got Anthony Rizzo to pop out to end the frame, then completed the save with a scoreless ninth despite allowing a leadoff single. It was just the second time this season Hader was asked to get more than three outs, though he kept his workload relatively light by throwing 14 of his 18 pitches for strikes. The veteran closer's 5.63 ERA so far is well below his career standard, but he has converted four of his five save chances and has 25 punchouts over 16 frames. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:10 pm
    • Josh Hader notches four-out save against Yankees
Josh Hader recorded a four-out save on Thursday against the Yankees.

Advice: Hader came on to record the final out of the eighth inning before heading back out to spin a scoreless ninth inning to collect his fourth save of the season. The 30-year-old lefty has converted four of five save chances in his Astros debut so far to go along with a bloated 5.63 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 25/7 K/BB ratio across 16 innings (16 appearances). There’s zero reason for concern here moving forward as he continues to miss bats at an elite rate. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:05 pm
    • Luis Robert Jr. (hip) nearing rehab assignment
Luis Robert Jr. (hip) has resumed hitting.

Advice: White Sox manager Pedro Grifol told reporters Thursday that Robert has gotten past the slight setback he experienced recently while rehabbing out in Arizona and isn’t far off from starting a minor league rehab assignment. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:11 pm

    • Corbin Carroll knocks in go-ahead run against Reds
Corbin Carroll knocked in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning Thursday to help the D-Backs to a 5-4 win over the Reds.

Advice: In what has been a very disappointing season for Carroll, the 23-year-old came up big Thursday with an RBI single to score Tucker Barnhart that broke a 4-4 tie and ultimately gave Arizona the victory. The 23-year-old was one of the best fantasy players regardless of age, and while his .206/.300/.270 slash is anything but ideal, there’s obvious reasons to believe he’ll bounce back considerably in the summer months. • Paul Goldschmidt getting night off on Thursday
Paul Goldschmidt is not in the lineup for Thursday’s showdown against the Brewers.

Advice: Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol is giving Goldschmidt another night off as he attempt to break out of an early-season slump at the dish. The 36-year-old veteran slugger is batting just .195 (26-for-133) with two homers, 11 RBI and one steal in 152 plate appearances over 35 contests. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:26 pm
    • Not in lineup Thursday
Goldschmidt is not in the lineup for Thursday's game in Milwaukee.

Advice: Goldschmidt had been slated to sit out Wednesday versus the Mets before that game was rained out, and he is again absent from the lineup card a day later. The 36-year-old is hitless so far in six contests this month. Alec Burleson will fill in for Goldschmidt at first base Thursday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:23 pm
    • Goes deep Wednesday
Adell went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a additional RBI in Wednesday's 5-4 victory versus the Pirates.

Advice: Adell put the Angels on the board with a solo shot to center field in the third inning, and he added a run-scoring single in the fifth. He finished with his first multi-hit game since April 27. With Mike Trout set to miss extended time due to knee surgery, Adell has become a near-everyday starter in the outfield. However, he's struggled so far this month, slashing .125/.185/.250 with seven strikeouts over seven games, though he does have three RBI and a pair of steals. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:05 pm

    • Set to return Saturday
Javier (neck) will return from the 15-day injured list to start Saturday in Detroit, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Javier will have gone nearly a month in between starts for the Astros when he toes the rubber Saturday, having been sidelined with a neck problem. He's ready to roll now, following one rehab start with Double-A Corpus Christi in which he allowed three runs over 3.1 frames. Javier threw just 68 pitches in the outing, so he could be somewhat limited from a workload perspective against the Tigers. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:43 am
