    • Joey Ortiz leading off again Tuesday vs. Phillies
Joey Ortiz is leading off on Tuesday against the Phillies.

Advice: Ortiz has been bumped up to the top spot in Milwaukee’s lineup on several occasions over the last few weeks as his breakthrough campaign continues. The 25-year-old rookie infielder is batting .302 (29-for-96) with four homers and two steals over his last 30 games. Perhaps more impressive is the fact that he’s walked more times (16) than he’s struck out (15) during that span. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:26 pm

    • Won't face lefty
McNeil is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: The lefty-hitting McNeil will once again give way to Jose Iglesias at second base with a left-handed pitcher (DJ Herz) on the mound for the opposition. Iglesias will bat eighth in place of McNeil, who should continue to see the bulk of the playing time at the keystone when the Mets oppose right-handers. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:21 pm

    • Rejoins starting nine
Donovan (neck) will start in left field and bat sixth in Monday's game against the Astros.

Advice: Donovan is back in action Monday after a stiff neck kept him out of the entirety of the Cardinals' three-game series with the Phillies over the weekend. The 27-year-old had been serving as the Cardinals' leadoff man against right-handed pitching prior to suffering the neck injury, but Donovan may have lost that role to Masyn Winn. The second-year shortstop will bat atop the order in the series opener in Houston while Donovan drops to sixth against Astros righty Justin Verlander. Rotowire.com Monday, 3:10 pm

    • Rare day off Monday
McMahon is out of the lineup for Monday's contest versus the Reds, Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports.

Advice: McMahon will get a breather for just the second time all season as the Rockies open up a three-game set with the Reds. Alan Trejo will receive a start at third base Monday against lefty Andrew Abbott while McMahon rests up. Rotowire.com Monday, 12:56 pm

    • Brendan Donovan returns to Cards’ lineup on Monday
Brendan Donovan (neck) returned to the Cardinals’ starting lineup for Monday’s series opener against the Astros.

Advice: Donovan missed the club’s entire weekend series against the Phillies due to stiffness in his neck. He’ll start in left field and bat sixth for the Cardinals against Astros’ right-hander Justin Verlander on Monday evening in Houston. He returns to a .245/.326/.382 slash line with four homers and 25 RBI through his first 233 plate appearances on the season. Rotoworld Monday, 12:52 pm

    • Sitting against southpaw Monday
McNeil is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: The lefty-hitting McNeil is being withheld from the lineup for Mets' second straight matchup with a left-hander (MacKenzie Gore), as he had previously taken a seat when New York opposed Arizona southpaw Jordan Montgomery on Monday. McNeil could be moving into the strong side of a platoon at second base with the righty-hitting Jose Iglesias, who will draw another start. Rotowire.com Monday, 12:19 pm

    • Jeff McNeil sits against southpaw on Monday
Jeff McNeil is absent from the Mets’ starting lineup for Monday night’s battle against the Nationals.

Advice: It looks to be just a regular day off for McNeil with tough left-hander MacKenzie Gore toeing the slab for the Nationals. Jose Iglesias will start in his place at second base and will bat eighth for the Mets on Monday evening in Washington. Rotoworld Monday, 11:44 am

    • Could get looks in outfield
Phillies manager Rob Thomson said Saturday that Sosa could be an option to see reps in the outfield once shortstop Trea Turner (hamstring) returns from the 10-day injured list, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Advice: Sosa has logged a total of just 5.1 innings of outfield in the majors and has never started a game in the outfield in the professional ranks. He's been outstanding at shortstop since Turner got hurt, slashing .310/.380/.606 with three home runs in 22 games, which has the Phillies contemplating other ways of keeping him in the lineup long term. The Phillies could have an opening in left field if Brandon Marsh (hamstring) needs to miss time, but Sosa will still be needed at shortstop until Turner is back. Rotowire.com Monday, 9:58 am

    • Ryan McMahon reaches three times in loss
Ryan McMahon singled and drew a pair of walks as the Rockies were shut out by Gavin Stone and a host of Dodgers’ relievers on Sunday afternoon in Los Angeles.

Advice: As a team, the Rockies totaled just five hits in the contest, with only one of them (a double by Charlie Blackmon) going for extra bases. McMahon continues to have a terrific season in the middle of the Rockies’ lineup — slashing .284/.371/.470 with 10 homers and 34 RBI. Rotoworld Sunday, 5:12 pm
