    • Brandon Pfaadt allows four runs in six innings
      Brandon Pfaadt pitched six innings on Sunday against the Mets. He struck out eight and walked two batters.

      Advice: Pfaadt pitched very well in this game despite the four earned runs. The Mets were swinging over his sweeper all afternoon before a rally with back-to-back triples by Brandon Nimmo and J.D. Martinez fueled all four of their runs.     • Contributes grand slam in victory
      Suzuki went 2-for-4 with a grand slam and a triple in Saturday's 7-5 win against Cincinnati.

      Advice: The Cubs fell behind by four runs early but tied the game with one stroke of the bat on Suzuki's second-inning grand slam. It was his first career grand slam and sixth homer of the campaign.     • Struggles with control Saturday
      Steele allowed five runs (one earned) on seven hits and four walks while striking out five batters over five innings in a no-decision against Cincinnati on Saturday.

      Advice: Steele's fantasy stat line wasn't disastrous since only one of the five runs charged to him was earned, but he was far from sharp, especially in terms of control. The southpaw hit a batter in addition to issuing a season-high four walks, and he threw just 58 of 98 pitches for strikes. Steele is usually much better at limiting free passes -- before Saturday, he had issued only seven walks over six starts -- so this was likely just a bump in the road for him.       Raley went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, an additional run and a walk against the Angels in Saturday's 9-0 victory.

      Advice: Raley built Seattle's lead to six runs with his solo shot in the sixth inning. He recently dealt with a lat injury, but the issue turned out to be minor, as Raley has started each of the Mariners' past two games.     • Suzuki hits triple, grand slam in win Saturday
      Seiya Suzuki went 2-for-4 with a triple and a grand slam against the Reds on Saturday.



      Advice: Suzuki’s home run was his sixth of the season and second in the last three games. He seems to be completely over the oblique injury he dealt with earlier this season. Suzuki is 12-for-37 (.324) with two home runs and seven RBI over his last nine games.

    • Steele allows five runs in no-decision
      Justin Steele allowed five runs (one earned) in five innings and got a no-decision in the Cubs’ 7-5 victory over the Reds on Saturday.



      Advice: Steele gave up seven hits, walked four and struck out five. He seemed to be turning a corner with seven shutout innings in his last start, but this was a setback for Steele. Even though most of the runs were unearned, he’s now allowed at least five runs in four of his last five starts. Steele has completed six innings in only two of his seven starts this year. His ERA was mostly spared in this one and now sits at 4.10 for the season, but when you add it all up this isn’t a recipe for winning games right now. The 28-year-old left-hander will look to improve against the Reds on the road next week.

    • Belts two homers in victory
      Alvarez went 3-for-3 with two home runs, a walk and three total RBI in a 5-2 win against Minnesota on Saturday.

      Advice: Alvarez kicked off the scoring for Houston with a two-run homer in the first inning and added a solo shot in the fifth. The pair of long balls matched his total over his previous 30 games combined. Alvarez has hit safely in 13 of his past 14 games and is batting .377 (20-for-53) during that stretch, though he had only two RBI during that span before Saturday.     • Bohm drives in two against Cardinals Saturday
      Alec Bohm went 2-for-4 with a run scored, a double and two RBI against the Cardinals on Saturday.

      Advice: Bohm started the scoring with a two-run double off Sonny Gray in the first inning. He only has five home runs on the season, but he’s hitting .311 with 49 RBI in 58 games. Bohm is a mainstay in the middle of the order for the Phillies now. Rotoworld Saturday, 7:14 pm

      Langford went 2-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored in a 7-0 win against the Marlins on Saturday.

      Advice: Langford singled and scored a run in the fourth inning then added a two-run base hit in the ninth. In four games since returning from the injured list with a hamstring strain, Langford has posted two multi-hit efforts and totaled four RBI.
