      Advice: The right-hander generated an impressive 32 called or swinging strikes among his 81 pitches, but both runs off Pivetta came on solo shots by Josh Lowe and Randy Arozarena, with the latter chasing him from the game one out short of his second quality start of the season. Pivetta has served up five homers in two starts since coming off the IL, a worrisome trend, but he'll carry a 3.48 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 22:2 K:BB through 20.2 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come on the road this weekend in St. Louis.       Ryan Helsley recorded his 13th save with a scoreless ninth against the Angels on Tuesday.

      Advice: Helsley pitched a whole lot during April, but it definitely hasn’t caused any problems yet; he’s posted his best velocity numbers of the year his last two times out, averaging 101.0 mph with his fastball on Sunday and 100.7 mph tonight. He’s gone 14 straight appearances without allowing an earned run and the one unearned run he’s given up during the stretch was an automatic runner in the 10th inning.       Helsley allowed a hit and struck out two without walking a batter in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 7-6 win over the Angels.

      Advice: Helsley has a win and six saves during his nine-inning scoreless streak, a span that's seen him allowed six hits and one walk while striking out 11. The right-hander is 13-for-14 in save chances this season with a 1.35 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 23:2 K:BB over 20 innings. Helsley seems to be benefiting from being the stand-alone closer as opposed to part of a committee.     • Nick Pivetta bounces back with solid effort vs TB
      Nick Pivetta allowed two runs on four hits in 5 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Rays.

      Advice: Pivetta struck out eight on the day while walking none, but he was doomed by two solo home runs. The right-hander got back on track after his rough return from the IL, posting a 29 percent whiff rate and 40 percent CSW. His sweeper was particularly dominant, getting five whiffs on eight swings and posting a 47 percent CSW. Pivetta also threw his curveball 1.3 mph harder than usual and found some success with it, so that’s something to watch for future starts.     • José Berríos completes seven frames in no-decision
      José Berríos allowed two runs over seven innings on Monday in a no-decision against the Orioles.

      Advice: Berríos struck out four and only handed out one free pass. He limited Baltimore’s exciting lineup to just three hits over seven frames with a pair of Adley Rutschman solo homers accounting for all of the damage against him in this one. It was a much-needed rebound effort for the 29-year-old righty after being torched for eight runs over 3 2/3 innings his last time out against the Phillies. He’ll bring a solid 2.82 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 42/16 K/BB ratio across 54 1/3 innings (nine starts) into a home outing on Sunday against the Rays. Rotoworld Monday, 7:08 pm
       
    • Bounces back with quality start
      Berrios did not factor into the decision Monday against the Orioles, allowing two runs on three hits and one walk over seven innings. He struck out four.

      Advice: Berrios allowed two solo homers to Adley Rutschman but otherwise only allowed one additional single through seven quality innings. It was a nice bounce-back performance for Berrios, who was lit up for eight runs in his last start against the Phillies after having allowed just seven runs total through his first seven appearances.       Helsley struck out two batters in a perfect inning and earned a save over Milwaukee on Sunday.

      Advice: Helsley needed only 12 pitches (10 strikes) to quickly close out the 4-3 victory. Since blowing a save in his season debut, he's converted 12 consecutive chances.       Darvish (3-1) earned the win over the Dodgers on Sunday after firing seven shutout innings and allowing just two hits and a walk. He struck out seven.

      Advice: Darvish extended his scoreless innings streak to 17 innings in another dominant outing since returning from the injured list April 30. He retired the first 14 hitters he faced in order until walking Andy Pages with two outs in the fifth. Darvish generated an excellent 19 whiffs and tied his season high with seven strikeouts.       Yu Darvish was magnificent in Sunday afternoon’s victory over the Dodgers, piling up seven strikeouts across seven innings of shutout baseball.

      Advice: The 37-year-old right-hander allowed just two hits and one walk on the day. He retired the first 14 hitters that he faced in order until he walked Andy Pages with two outs in the fifth inning. He then allowed a single to Enrique Hernandez, but got Miguel Rojas to line out to end the threat. Darvish generated 19 swings and misses on 101 pitches in the ballgame — one or more on eight different offerings — while posting an elite CSW of 36 percent. He has yet to allow a run over 17 innings since returning from the injured list and now boasts a 2.43 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and a 37/12 K/BB ratio over 40 2/3 innings on the year.
