    • George Kirby solid for seven in no-decision
George Kirby was left with a no-decision after seven innings of two-run ball Friday against the Marlins.

Advice: Kirby was undone by back-to-back solo homers in the sixth. The first of those, off the bat of Bryan De La Cruz, would have been a homer in three ballparks, according to Statcast. Apart from that sequence, Kirby was masterful. He’s allowed two runs or fewer in 11 of 16 starts. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:56 pm

    • Marcus Semien plates three runs to lead Rangers
Marcus Semien delivered a bases-clearing three-run double in the sixth inning on Friday night, propelling the Rangers to a 6-2 victory over the visiting Royals.

Advice: The Rangers had just taken the lead as Jonah Heim plated a run with a fielder’s choice. Semien then followed by smacking a two-out, three-run double off of Sammy Long to break the game wide open. It was the only hit of the game in four at-bats for Semien, but it proved to be the difference-maker. On the season, the 33-year-old infielder is now hitting .252/.319/.419 with 11 homers, 43 RBI and three stolen bases. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:50 pm

    • Rockies place Charlie Blackmon on 10-day IL
Rockies placed OF Charlie Blackmon on the 10-day injured list with a right hamstring strain.

Advice: The 37-year-old was pulled from Tuesday’s game against the Dodgers due to the injury and then sat out the final two games of that series. The severity of the strain — as well as how much time he may miss — are not yet known. Sam Hilliard was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque in a corresponding move on Friday. • Lands on IL with strained hamstring
The Rockies placed Blackmon on the 10-day injured list Friday, retroactive to June 19, due to a right hamstring strain.

Advice: Blackmon missed the last three games after injuring his hamstring Tuesday against the Dodgers. Prior to the injury, Blackmon was slashing .333/.397/.509 with 10 runs, seven doubles and two RBI over 57 at-bats in June. In Blackmon's absence, Jake Cave and Sean Bouchard are likely to form a platoon in right field. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:05 pm

    • Jeremy Peña getting breather against Orioles
Jeremy Peña is absent from the Astros’ starting lineup for Friday night’s matchup against the Orioles.

Advice: The 26-year-old shortstop has been a mainstay in the Astros’ lineup this season, so it’s rare to see him getting a night off. Mauricio Dubon will start in his place and will bat seventh for the Astros against Orioles’ right-hander Grayson Rodriguez on Friday evening. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:21 pm

    • Day off Friday
Pena is not in the lineup for Friday's game versus the Orioles.

Advice: Pena has managed just two hits over his last 32 at-bats, so it's probably not a bad time to give him a day to regroup. Mauricio Dubon will hold down shortstop for the Astros on Friday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:20 pm

    • Remains out of action
Blackmon (hamstring) remains out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: It's the third straight contest he's missed as he deals with right hamstring tightness. The Rockies have been bullish on Blackmon's chances of avoid the injured list, but he'll have to be ready soon for that to happen. Hunter Goodman is at designated hitter and Sean Bouchard is in right field Friday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:48 pm
