Player Notes

  • Margot has three hits Saturday
Manuel Margot went 3-for-4 against the Guardians on Saturday.

Advice: It was a quiet game for the Twins as they were shutout by Logan Allen and the Guardians bullpen. Margot had three singles. He continues to be used as a platoon option against left-handed pitching. He could be used in daily leagues in certain matchups, but overall his average is just .195 this season.

  • Goes yard twice against ChiSox
Soto went 4-for-4 with a walk, two home runs and three RBI in Saturday's 6-1 win over the White Sox.

Advice: The 25-year-old had his best game yet as a Yankee, taking Brad Keller deep in the first and fifth innings. It was Soto's first multi-hit performance, and first long balls, since May 8, and through 47 games on the season he carries a .317/.414/.561 slash line with 11 homers, four steals, 32 runs and 37 RBI. • Stays hot with six-RBI day
Matos went 3-for-5 with a home run and six RBI in Saturday's 14-4 victory over the Rockies.

Advice: Matos drove in a career-high five runs in Friday's series opener and then one-upped himself Saturday. He got the scoring going in this one with a two-out, three-run home run in the bottom of the first inning. The youngster then followed that with an RBI double in his next trip to the dish before capping off his night with a two-RBI single. Matos is just the fourth Giants player ever to notch consecutive five-RBI games, and he has tallied a whopping 17 RBI in seven contests since being recalled. While he had just a .661 OPS with the Giants last season and a .663 OPS this year at Triple-A Sacramento, Matos is a former top prospect who just turned 22 in January. At the very least, he's become a player who needs to be rostered in five-outfielder leagues. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:03 pm
  • Chisholm blasts sixth home run
Jazz Chisholm went 3-for-5 with three runs scored, three RBI and a home run against the Mets.

Advice: Chisholm’s home run was his sixth of the year. Despite coming into this season in better shape, he hasn’t seen a significant uptick in his production. Chisholm has stayed healthy, which has been a problem for him in the past, but his numbers are fairly similar to last season’s pace across the board.

  • McNeil has two hits Saturday
Jeff McNeil went 2-for-4 with a run scored, two RBI, a walk and a stolen base against the Marlins on Saturday.

Advice: McNeil gave the Mets a sizable lead as his two-run single made it a 7-2 game in the fifth inning. It was a good game from the former batting champion, but he’s having a brutal season so far with a .239 average and only one home run.

  • Not starting versus lefty
Kirilloff isn't in the Twins' lineup for Saturday's game against Cleveland.

Advice: Kirilloff will move to the bench Saturday as left-hander Logan Allen prepares to start on the mound for the Guardians. Willi Castro will fill the void in left field, batting third. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:10 pm
  • Riding pine against lefty
Larnach isn't in the Twins' lineup for Saturday's game against the Guardians.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Larnach will step out of the lineup as the Twins prepare to face southpaw Logan Allen. Ryan Jeffers will move into the DH spot as a result, allowing Christian Vazquez to start at catcher while batting ninth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:07 pm
  • Sitting down versus lefty
Kepler isn't in the Twins' lineup for Saturday's game against the Guardians.

Advice: Left-hander Logan Allen will toe the slab for Cleveland on Saturday, meaning the lefty-hitting Kepler will retreat to the bench. Manuel Margot will take over in right field and bat sixth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:05 pm
  • Christopher Morel walks off the Cubs on Saturday
Christopher Morel went 1-for-3, driving in the winning run in the Cubs’ 1-0 win over the Pirates on Saturday.

Advice: The Cubs and Pirates were scoreless going into the bottom of the ninth in what turned out to be a pitcher’s duel. Cody Bellinger reached scoring position with a one-out double off David Bednar. Morel followed with a base hit to walk it off, bringing Bellinger home for the winning run. The 24-year-old slugger is hitting .217/.300/.416 with nine homers, 32 RBI, and four steals across 190 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:38 pm
