    • Takes loss against Pirates
Helsley (2-3) took the loss Tuesday against Pittsburgh, allowing two runs on one hit and two walks with a strikeout over one inning.

Advice: Helsley took the mound in the top of the ninth with the score 0-0, but he couldn't keep the game at a stalemate. The 29-year-old walked Jack Suwinski, yielded a single to Andrew McCutchen and walked Bryan Reynolds to load the bases with no outs. Suwinski and McCutchen ended up coming around to score before Helsley was able to record three outs, marking the closer's first loss since April 19 and bumping his ERA up from 2.25 to 2.79 through 29.0 innings. • Should make next start
Guardians manager Stephen Vogt said Tuesday that Lively (undisclosed) has checked out fine and is expected to make his next turn through the rotation, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The 32-year-old experienced some unspecified tightness during his start in Miami over the weekend, which resulted in him being lifted after five scoreless innings. Lively hasn't had any issues over the past couple days, putting him on track to start this weekend in Toronto. Cleveland should confirm its pitching plans later in the week. • Vogt: Ben Lively to make next scheduled start
Guardians manager Stephen Vogt told reporters Ben Lively (undisclosed) is on track to make his next start.

Advice: Lively went back to Cleveland over the weekend to undergo additional testing for an undisclosed injury. The 32-year-old journeyman appears to have checked out fine and will presumably take the ball on Saturday against the Blue Jays. Rotoworld Tuesday, 2:06 pm

    • Dylan Cease strikes out eight in win over A’s
Dylan Cease won for the first time in a month after holding the A’s to one run in six innings on Monday.

Advice: Cease surrendered eight hits, but only Tyler Soderstrom’s homer in the second did any damage. He struck out eight and walked one in moving to 6-5 with a 3.36 ERA. The eight strikeouts gave him 101 for the season, making him the third pitcher this year, after Tyler Glasnow and Garrett Crochet, to reach the century mark. Rotoworld Monday, 11:31 pm

    • Splendid in victory Monday
Cease (6-5) earned the win over Oakland on Monday, allowing one run on eight hits and one walk while striking out eight batters over six innings.

Advice: Cease surrendered a solo homer to Tyler Soderstrom in the second inning, but that was the only run the A's managed to score against him. The right-handed hurler racked up 15 whiffs among his 104 pitches and gave up fewer than three runs for the first time since May 8. Cease entered Monday with a 5.86 ERA over his previous five starts, and he went 0-3 during that span. However, he still holds a solid 3.36 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 101:23 K:BB over 83 innings on the season. Rotowire.com Monday, 10:23 pm

    • Strikes out four in loss
Berrios (5-5) took the loss to the Brewers on Monday, allowing three runs on five hits and one walk with four strikeouts over 5.2 innings.

Advice: Berrios surrendered solo home runs to Jackson Chourio and Willy Adames in the third and fourth innings then allowed another run on a sacrifice fly by Adames in the sixth. Berrios was bidding for his sixth straight quality start but labored through the sixth and left the game with two outs after throwing 105 pitches in the contest. Despite faltering late, Berrios has now logged a quality start in 11 of 14 outings and owns a 2.93 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 64:22 K:BB this season. He lines up for his second start of the week against the Guardians on Sunday. Rotowire.com Monday, 9:12 pm

    • Berrios allows three runs in loss Monday
Jose Berrios allowed three runs in 5 2/3 innings and took the loss against the Brewers on Monday.

Advice: Berrios gave up five hits, walked one and struck out four. Two of the five hits he allowed were home runs to Jackson Chourio and Willy Adames. Berrios has a 2.93 ERA on the season, but his xFIP is 4.09. His 88 percent left on base percentage is a giant red flag. It’s unlikely Berrios will continue to be able to get by with an 18 percent strikeout percentage while allowing 1.36 HR/9. The 30-year-old right-hander is set to face the Guardians at home this weekend.

    • Cruises to fifth win
Paddack (5-3) earned the win Monday against the Rockies, yielding six hits and no walks over 6.1 scoreless innings. He struck out six.

Advice: After struggling with a 6.51 ERA over his last five starts, Paddack cashed in on the opportunity to pitch against Colorado, firing his first scoreless appearance since May 3. The Twins right-hander generated 13 whiffs to collect his six punchouts, reaching that mark for the sixth time this season. Overall, Paddack now sports a 4.79 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 67:14 K:BB over 71.1 innings. The 28-year-old is slated to face Oakland at home this weekend in his next start. Rotowire.com Monday, 7:19 pm

    • Paddack gets fifth win against Rockies Monday
Chris Paddack threw 6 1/3 shutout innings and got the win in the Twins’ 5-0 victory over the Rockies on Monday.

Advice: Paddack gave up six hits, walked none and struck out six. The win was his fifth of the season and first since May 8th. Paddack lowered his ERA to 4.79 on the year, but there still might be room for improvement. His xFIP is considerably lower at 3.76 and his .338 BABIP allowed is higher than his career .293 BABIP allowed. The 28-year-old right-hander will look to keep it going in another good matchup against the Athletics at home this weekend.
