    • Excellent in no-decision
Glasnow allowed a run on one hit and two walks while striking out 10 over seven innings in a no-decision versus the Padres on Friday.

Advice: Glasnow was excellent, with the one hit against him being a Luis Campusano solo home run in the third inning. This was the fourth time this season Glasnow has struck out 10 or more batters, and it was also his fourth straight quality start. The right-hander trimmed his ERA to 2.53 with a 0.86 WHIP and a 73:15 K:BB over 57 innings across nine starts. Glasnow is dialed in, but his workload will be something to keep an eye on -- he's never pitched more than 120 innings in a season, often due to injuries. He's projected to make his next start in San Francisco. Rotowire.com Today, 9:29 pm

    • Tyler Glasnow whiffs 10 again in no-decision
Tyler Glasnow struck out 10 while allowing just one run in seven innings against the Padres on Friday, but he didn’t factor into the decision.

Advice: Glasnow and King were both outstanding Friday, and both come out of the effort with hard-luck no-decisions. Glasnow allowed just one hit, but that one hit was a solo homer from Luis Campusano in the third inning. This makes back-to-back starts for Glasnow where he’s gotten double-digit strikeouts, and he improved his K/BB to 73/15 with the aforementioned punchouts and two free passes. Expect Glasnow to pitch well again in his next outing, scheduled Wednesday against the Giants in San Francisco. Rotoworld Today, 8:58 pm

    • Notches seventh save
Yates gave up a run on two hits and a walk while striking out one in the ninth inning during the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the A's, recording his seventh save of the season in a 12-11 win.

Advice: It didn't seem like the Rangers would need their closer when they took a 12-7 lead into the final frame, but after Owen White gave up three straight singles to load the bases without getting an out, Yates was pressed into duty. The right-hander wound up allowing all three inherited runners to score, plus one of his own, before finally escaping the jam. It was the first run Yates had given up all season, and he sports a 0.56 ERA, 0.69 WHIP and 17:6 K:BB through 16 innings without blowing a save. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:09 am

    • Allows one hit in seven frames
Cease (5-2) picked up the win Wednesday against the Cubs, allowing one hit and two walks over seven scoreless innings. He struck out 12.

Advice: Cease fell one K shy of his career high in strikeouts and allowed only four total baserunners -- an infield single, two walks and a hit-by-pitch -- en route to his fifth win of his last six starts. He's been making a case for the NL Cy Young in his first season with the Padres, earning a 2.19 ERA and a 0.75 WHIP with 60 strikeouts over 49.1 innings pitched. Cease will look to add to his already impressive 2024 resume in a projected home start Tuesday against the Rockies. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 7:57 pm

    • Steps in to close out game
McArthur picked up the save Wednesday against the Brewers after a perfect two-thirds of an inning.

Advice: The ball was handed to Tyler Duffey for the ninth, but after Duffey walked two batters and gave up a double to Brice Turang, McArthur was forced to step in and close the door. The save snapped McArthur out of a two-game slump in which he allowed five runs (four earned) and was charged with two blown saves and two losses. McArthur now has eight saves on the season, which is tied for the fourth most in the AL. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 7:28 pm
    • Kirby Yates holds on for seventh save against A’s
Kirby Yates allowed one run with one strikeout in the ninth inning to record a save against the Athletics on Wednesday.

Advice: Up by five runs in the ninth, Owen White started the inning for the Rangers, but loaded the bases with no outs. Yates came on to clean it up, but gave up a sacrifice fly and a pair of hits to bring Oakland to within one run. He held on to escape the jam and end the game with his seventh save. • Dylan Cease hurls 12-strikeout gem versus Cubs
Dylan Cease recorded a season-high 12 strikeouts over seven shutout innings on Wednesday in a win over the Cubs.

Advice: Cease was simply magnificent during Wednesday afternoon’s matinee at Wrigley Field, inducing a surreal 24 swinging strikes, including 12 on his slider alone, and finished with an elite 39 percent CSW. He limited Chicago’s formidable offense to just three baserunners, one hit and a pair of walks, over seven nearly-flawless frames. His 12 strikeouts were just one shy of his previous career-high mark set back on June 26, 2022. The 28-year-old fantasy ace has been outstanding in his San Diego debut, allowing two earned runs or fewer in seven of his eight starts. He’ll bring a stellar 2.19 ERA, 0.75 WHIP and 60/16 K/BB ratio across 49 1/3 innings (eight starts) into a tasty home matchup on Tuesday against the Rockies at Petco Park. • James McArthur gets two out save Wednesday vs Brewers
James McArthur converted a two-out save on Wednesday against the Brewers.

Advice: McArthur was summoned to record the final two outs in the ninth inning after Tyler Duffey gave up an RBI double to Brice Turang that put the potential tying runs in scoring position with only one out in the frame. He got William Contreras and Christian Yelich to both ground out harmlessly to put out the fire and preserve Kansas City’s victory. The 27-year-old righty has converted eight saves to go along with a 4.15 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 18/3 K/BB ratio across 17 1/3 innings (15 appearances). Rotoworld Wednesday, 1:57 pm
    • Goes on IL with rotator cuff strain
The Rangers placed Dunning (shoulder) on the 15-day injured list with a right rotator cuff strain.

Advice: The roster move is retroactive to Sunday, one day after Dunning made his seventh start of the season while taking a no-decision against the Royals. The Rangers haven't indicated that Dunning sustained the injury at any point during that outing, but the right-hander's shoulder was evidently bothersome coming out of that start. Dunning is without a precise target date to return from the IL, though manager Bruce Bochy said Wednesday that the 29-year-old isn't expected to have an especially lengthy stay on the shelf. While Dunning joins Nathan Eovaldi (groin), Max Scherzer (back), Cody Bradford (ribs), Jacob deGrom (elbow) and Tyler Mahle (elbow) on the shelf, the Rangers should have back-end rotation spots available for both Jose Urena and Jack Leiter.
