    • Nolan Jones (back, knee) rejoins Rockies on Friday
Rockies activated OF Nolan Jones from the 10-day injured list.

Advice: The dynamic 26-year-old has been sidelined since April 29 due to back and knee issues, but is finally ready to return to the Rockies’ lineup. Prior to landing on the injured list, he was hitting a paltry .170/.243/.277 with one homer, seven RBI and a pair of stolen bases through his first 26 ballgames. Jones will start in left field and bat fifth against Carmen Mlodzinski and the Pirates on Friday evening at Coors Field. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:57 pm
    • Reinstated from IL
Jones (knee) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Friday.

Advice: Jones landed on the injured list April 30 due to back stiffness. His initial rehab assignment was halted May 21 due to right knee soreness stemming from a slide, but he was able to resume activities June 3. Across his 12 rehab games with Triple-A Albuquerque, Jones went 9-for-42 with six runs, one home run and six RBI. He is starting in left field and batting fifth in Friday's game against the Pirates. To make room for Jones, Colorado placed Elias Diaz on the 10-day IL with a left calf strain, retroactive to June 11. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:32 pm
    • Tallies two hits, steal in win
Canha went 2-for-3 with two RBI in Thursday's 7-2 win over the Nationals. He also stole a base.

Advice: Canha extended his hitting streak to three games, and he's recorded a stolen base in two of those contests. That gives the veteran four steals for the season, and while he's not known for his speed at this point in his career, Canha did swipe 11 bases in 12 chances last year. He's a smart and efficient baserunner who can contribute a little bit in that category, though fantasy managers shouldn't expect huge numbers the rest of the way. Rotowire.com Thursday, 7:39 pm

    • Lane Thomas tossed for arguing balls and strikes
Lane Thomas was ejected from Thursday’s game in the sixth inning for arguing a called third strike.

Advice: Thomas was tossed by Emil Jimenez from a tie game for seemingly very little reason. Nick Senzel, who was supposed to get the day off, replaced him, with Ildemaro Vargas moving from third base to the outfield. Rotoworld Thursday, 11:43 am

    • TJ Friedl scores run as Reds top Guardians
TJ Friedl singled and scored a run as the Reds triumphed over the Guardians on Wednesday evening in Cincinnati.

Advice: Friedl singled off of Tanner Bibee in the sixth inning, then rode home on Jeimer Candelario’s go-ahead three-run homer. That would be the 28-year-old outfielder’s only hit in four at-bats on the day. He has been having a rough time at the plate in-between stints on the injured list this season, slashing a mere .221/.338/.382 with three homers, 13 RBI and five stolen bases in his first 19 games. • Steven Kwan collects two hits in loss Wednesday
Steven Kwan went 2-for-5 with a pair of singles and a run scored on Wednesday as the Guardians fell to the Reds in Cincinnati.

Advice: Kwan got things started with a one-out single off of Nick Lodolo in the third inning, then came around to score the game’s tying run as David Fry worked a two-out walk with the bases loaded. The 26-year-old outfielder also looked like he had an RBI single in the fourth inning, but Brayan Rocchio was cut down at the plate. On the season, Kwan is now slashing a ridiculous .380/.445/.534 with four homers, 16 RBI and three stolen bases. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:07 pm

    • Jake Meyers is not in the lineup on Wednesday
Jake Meyers is not in the Astros’ starting lineup on Wednesday against the Giants.

Advice: Meyers has been the regular center fielder for the Astros for a while now, but the 27-year-old is starting to cool down at the plate. Over the last 20 games, Meyers is hitting .227/.284/.293 with one home run, four steals, and a 25 percent strikeout rate. Meyers plays good defense in center field, which helps his case to keep starting, but if he doesn’t pick it up with the bat, more off days could be in his future. Interestingly, Chas McCormick is also not in the starting lineup as the Astros have opted to play Trey Cabbage in right field and Mauricio Dubon in center. Rotoworld Wednesday, 12:29 pm

    • Takes seat Wednesday
Meyers is out of the lineup for Wednesday's contest in San Francisco, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Advice: Meyers started in both of the first two games of the series, going 2-for-8 with five strikeouts. He'll begin the series finale on the bench, giving way to Mauricio Dubon in center field. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 10:22 am

    • On base four times Tuesday
Carroll went 3-for-4 with a triple, a double, a walk, an RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's 9-4 win over the Angels.

Advice: Carroll began his night with an RBI triple in the second and later came around to score. He then doubled his next time up in the fourth and would walk and cross home once more in the fifth. Carroll's been dialed in at the plate as of late. Over his last five games, he's tallied nine hits and four walks while not striking out a single time. The mini surge has lifted his slash line to .213/.300/.309 with 15 extra-base hits, 21 RBI, 35 runs and a 29:52 BB:K over 283 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 7:03 am
