    • Retreating to bench Wednesday
Springer is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox.

Advice: After sitting out three times in four-game stretch from May 10 through 13 while he recovered from an illness, Springer started in each of Toronto's last six games while going 3-for-20 with four walks and two doubles. Despite his lackluster production over the past week, Springer isn't believed to be dealing with any physical issues, so his absence from the lineup Wednesday is most likely a maintenance day. • George Springer left out of Wednesday’s lineup
George Springer is out of the lineup Wednesday after going hitless in the Jays’ last two games,

Advice: Springer is down to .194/.276/.285 for the season, though Statcast still thinks he’s been terribly unlucky. Cavan Biggio will start in right field tonight. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:08 pm
    • Goes yard twice in rout
Buxton went 2-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI in Tuesday's 10-0 win over the Nationals.

Advice: The 30-year-old slugger took Patrick Corbin deep in the second and fifth innings, his first long balls in four games since coming off the IL and his first multi-homer performance of 2024. Buxton had managed only one home run in 28 games prior to knee trouble that shut him down in early May, but Tuesday's fireworks are a strong sign he's fully healthy. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:19 am
    • Records 15th steal
Acuna went 0-for-4 with a walk and a stolen base in Tuesday's 4-3 extra-inning loss to the Cubs.

Advice: The steal was Acuna's first since May 4, an unusually long drought without a theft for the speedy outfielder. He was caught on his only attempt over 12 games between steals. Acuna has struggled to get into a rhythm at the plate this season, slashing .247/.355/.351 with three home runs, 12 RBI, 36 runs scored and 15 steals over 203 plate appearances. Some regression from last year's 41-homer, 73-steal campaign was to be expected in 2024, but Acuna's career-low .706 OPS so far has been a brutal overcorrection. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 8:50 pm
    • Byron Buxton homers twice, Twins demolish Nats
Byron Buxton went 2-for-5 with two homers and three RBI on Tuesday, powering the Twins to a 10-0 blowout victory over the Nationals.

Advice: Buxton helped Minnesota snap a seven-game losing streak with a 10-run explosion highlighted by his 11th career multi-homer performance. The 30-year-old center fielder has undeniably gotten off to an ice-cold start at the plate this season, but he’s shown some signs of life since returning from the injured list earlier this week. He took Nationals starter Patrick Corbin deep in the second and fifth innings, respectively, to spearhead the Twins’ offensive outburst. We’re not going to draw too many conclusions from a single contest, but this certainly feels like it has the potential to be a confidence-booster for Buxton moving forward. Rotoworld Tuesday, 6:08 pm
    • Returns to lineup Monday
Martinez (illness) will start at designated hitter and bat cleanup in Monday's game in Cleveland.

Advice: Martinez sat out Sunday's contest due to flu-like symptoms but is feeling well enough to give it a go in this one. The veteran DH has slashed .315/.359/.466 with two home runs in 21 games to begin his tenure with the Mets. Rotowire.com Monday, 12:35 pm
    • On base three times Sunday
Springer went 1-for-2 with two walks, a double, two runs scored and an RBI in Sunday's win over the Rays.

Advice: Dropped to sixth in the batting order over the weekend, Springer responded to the move by getting on base three times, leading to his first multi-run performance since April 14. The veteran outfielder hasn't had a multi-hit game since April 24 though, slashing .156/.214/.203 in 17 contests since then without a homer. Until his bat wakes up, Springer will likely remain in the bottom half of the order. Rotowire.com Monday, 9:20 am
    • Clubs homer
Nimmo went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored during Sunday's 7-3 win over the Marlins.

Advice: After going 0-for-12 during the Mets' series against Philadelphia, Nimmo has started the Marlins series 2-for-8 (.250) with a double, a two-run home run and five total runs scored. Nimmo's homer Sunday came off Anthony Bender in the ninth inning and marked the outfielder's seventh of the season. In 193 plate appearances, Nimmo owns a .777 OPS. Rotowire.com Sunday, 9:39 pm
    • Brandon Nimmo homers in win
Brandon Nimmo went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run, walk, and two runs scored in the Mets win over the Marlins on Sunday.

Advice: Newly minted three-hitter Brandon Nimmo is having a power renaissance with five home runs in his last 17 games. Hitting third will give him a lot more RBI chances compared to when he hit leadoff. The Mets have scored seven and nine runs in the two games since their lineup shakeup, so the new order may hold moving forward.
