      Alex Bregman went 0-for-4 as the Astros’ cleanup hitter Wednesday to finish hitless in the series against the Angels.

      Advice: Bregman had three homers in two games against the A’s early last week, prompting the Astros to return him to the cleanup spot, but since then, he’s 4-for-31 with one RBI in eight games. It’s hard to imagine Bregman remaining this bad, but he’s long posted subpar BABIPs and his typically average exit velocity numbers are worse than usual right now.       Advice: Though double-play partner Xander Bogaerts will be in store for a long-term absence after he was diagnosed Wednesday with a fractured shoulder, Kim's absence from the lineup appears to be little more than a maintenance day.       Advice: Kim's first hit of the night was a base hit in the fourth, during which he stole second and came around to score on a double from Fernando Tatis. Kim then destroyed a 393-foot blast to center field in the seventh to extend the lead to 9-0. Kim now has just two stolen bases since April 23 and has yet to reach double digits this year after being seventh in baseball in 2023 with 38 thefts.       Ha-Seong Kim homered, swiped a base, walked and scored a pair of runs on Sunday night, leading the Padres in a 9-1 shellacking of the Braves in Atlanta.

      Advice: Kim led off the fourth inning with a single off of Bryce Elder, swiped second base and scored on a two-run double off the bat of Fernando Tatis Jr. He then walloped a 393-foot (100.7 mph EV) solo shot off of Ray Kerr in the seventh inning that extended the Padres’ lead to 9-0.       Morel went 1-for-3 with an RBI in Saturday's 1-0 win over the Pirates.

      Advice: Morel's line drive to center in the bottom of the ninth inning brought in Cody Bellinger with the game-winning run. It was a nice effort for Morel, who's been productive this month despite batting just .220 in May. The production has come mostly in the power department, as the 24-year-old has five home runs this month across 17 games. Morel came into May with four long balls over his first 29 contests.       Christopher Morel went 1-for-3, driving in the winning run in the Cubs’ 1-0 win over the Pirates on Saturday.

      Advice: The Cubs and Pirates were scoreless going into the bottom of the ninth in what turned out to be a pitcher’s duel. Cody Bellinger reached scoring position with a one-out double off David Bednar. Morel followed with a base hit to walk it off, bringing Bellinger home for the winning run.       Bregman went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in Tuesday's 2-1 extra-inning win over the Athletics.

      Advice: Bregman entered the Oakland series with one homer on the year, but he's hit three long balls and added two doubles over his last two games. The third baseman has gone 10-for-24 (.417) during a six-game hitting streak, though he's still got a long way to go to get his season-long numbers at an acceptable level.
