    • Garrett Crochet goes four innings in start vs. MIA
Garrett Crochet allows three runs in four innings against the Marlins on Saturday.

Advice: Much has been made of Crochet being on a limited pitch count in his first year as a starter, but he likely wouldn’t have gone deep even without said limit. On top of giving up his three runs, he needed 93 pitches to get through those four innings while walking three and striking out five. Crochet has been a heck of a find in 2024, but there’s likely to be an awful lot of three-to-five inning starts in the second half of the campaign. Keep that risk in mind. • Yates picks up 13th save against Rays Saturday
Kirby Yates tossed a scoreless inning and picked up the save against the Rays on Saturday.

Advice: The save was his 13th of the season since taking the closer job in April. Yates threw a perfect ninth inning in a one-run game. He’s been basically untouchable as his ERA is 0.86 on the season. Rotoworld 15 minutes ago

    • White Sox plan to limit Garrett Crochet’s workload
White Sox manager Pedro Grifol told reporters Saturday that Garrett Crochet will likely have a limited pitch count in his final start prior to the All-Star break.

Advice: Crochet has been the biggest name floated as a possible trade candidate in the coming weeks and it’s going to take a considerable haul to meet Chicago’s asking price. The 25-year-old southpaw has managed to stay healthy and finally put everything together in a stellar first-half breakthrough, so it doesn’t come as a surprise that the White Sox are going to limit his workload leading up to the trade deadline in a few weeks. • Swipes bag Friday
Burleson went 1-for-5 with a walk and a stolen base in Friday's 7-6 extra-innings win over the Nationals.

Advice: Burleson is heating up again, going 7-for-21 (.333) over his last five games. The steal was his first since June 23, and he's offered decent speed for a player best known for his power. The 25-year-old is slashing .281/.317/.459 with 13 home runs, six steals, 42 RBI, 34 runs scored and 11 doubles over 301 plate appearances this year. Rotowire.com Today, 10:18 am

    • Pilfers two bags Friday
Robert went 2-for-3 with two walks and two stolen bases in Friday's 3-2 win over the Marlins.

Advice: Miami had trouble keeping Robert off the bases or preventing him from taking an extra bag when he got there, but his teammates couldn't bring him home. The 26-year-old has hit safely in eight straight games and 13 of his last 15, and over the latter stretch he's slashing .310/.394/.552 with three homers, five steals, eight RBI and 10 runs. • Goes deep twice Friday
Keith went 2-for-5 with two home runs and three total RBI in Friday's 5-4 win over the Reds.

Advice: Keith hit a solo blast in the third inning, then followed that up with a two-run shot in the fifth. The 22-year-old now has seven home runs this season, with four of them coming in the last 10 games. During that stretch, he's batting .286 with a .945 OPS. Keith seems to be delivering on his prospect potential after a slow start to the year, and he could be a difference maker in fantasy leagues the rest of the way if he keeps this up. • Michael Lorenzen combines on shutout of Rays
Michael Lorenzen pitched around five walks to shut out the Rays for five innings in the Rangers’ 3-0 victory Friday.

Advice: Lorenzen surrendered just one hit, a double off the bat of Brandon Lowe. It wound up being a three-hit shutout for the Rangers’ pitching staff, with José Leclerc, Jacob Latz, David Robertson and Kirby Yates combining to finish the effort. Lorenzen is now 5-4 with a 3.21 ERA. It will be interesting to see if the Rangers choose to move him with Tyler Mahle, Cody Bradford and Jacob deGrom all seemingly on the way back. • Kirby Yates perfect in earning 12th save
Kirby Yates earned his 12th save with a perfect ninth Friday versus the Rays.

Advice: Yates struck out two of the three batters he faced in the 3-0 game. With 43 strikeouts and 13 hits allowed in 30 1/3 innings, his ERA stands at 0.89 after 30 appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:22 pm

    • Second straight poor start
Glasnow allowed five runs on three hits and two walks while striking out seven over six innings in a no-decision versus the Brewers on Friday.

Advice: All of the damage came in the fourth inning between a Willy Adames RBI single and a Rhys Hoskins grand slam. Glasnow has allowed five runs in back-to-back starts, though he's avoided the loss in both of those outings. For the season, he has a 3.47 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 143:29 K:BB through 109 innings over 18 starts. He's projected to make his next start at Detroit rather than Philadelphia due to the Dodgers inserting Justin Wrobleski into the rotation for a spot start Sunday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:13 pm
