    • Blach allows 10 hits, five runs in loss Thursday
Ty Blach allowed five runs in four innings and took the loss against the Dodgers on Thursday.

Advice: Blach gave up 10 hits, walked one and struck out two. He continues to give up hits in bunches as he’s now allowed 35 hits over his last four starts. Blach’s ERA is up to 5.13 on the season and he remains off the fantasy radar. The 33-year-old left-hander is set to face the Astros on the road next week.

    • Josh Hader strikes out two in save vs. White Sox
Josh Hader struck out two while firing a scoreless frame to get a save against the White Sox on Thursday.

Advice: Even with the two strikes, Hader needed just 14 pitches — 12 of those strikes — to get the save. The left-hander has now 11 in his first season as a member of the Astros, and he’s been much better than his 3.78 season ERA might indicate. Rotoworld Today, 2:04 pm

    • Chris Flexen pitches well, but bullpen blows lead
Chris Flexen held the Astros to just one run over six innings, but didn’t factor in the decision Thursday.

Advice: Flexen pitched well, the White Sox bullpen did not. He scattered five hits while striking out six against three walks. The 29-year-old left the game with a 3-1 lead, but Chicago’s beleaguered relievers gave up the lead quickly after. Flexen gets the Dodgers next week. No thank you. Rotoworld Today, 2:04 pm

    • Twins designate Jay Jackson for assignment
Twins designated RHP Jay Jackson for assignment.

Advice: Jackson was tagged for three runs courtesy of a pair of homers during Thursday’s eventual loss to the Rays and has been removed from Minnesota’s 40-man roster, according to manager Rocco Baldelli after the contest. No word on the corresponding move yet. The 36-year-old journeyman reliever struggled to a bloated 7.52 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 29/22 K/BB ratio across 26 1/3 innings (20 appearances) this season for Minnesota. Rotoworld Today, 1:58 pm

    • Designated for assignment
The Twins designated Jackson for assignment Thursday, Bobby Nightengale of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Advice: The move comes shortly after Jackson allowed three runs in an inning of work in Thursday's loss to the Rays. Jackson cleared waivers and accepted an outright assignment by the Twins last month, so he might wind up sticking around in the organization again. The club will announce a corresponding move prior to Friday's game in Oakland. Rotowire.com Today, 1:58 pm

    • Cardinals option Chris Roycroft to Triple-A
Cardinals optioned RHP Chris Roycroft to Triple-A Memphis.

Advice: Roycroft has shuttled back-and-forth between the Cardinals’ bullpen and Triple-A Memphis over the last few months and will likely continue to do so for the rest of the year. The 26-year-old righty has pitched to a solid 3.07 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 13/8 K/BB ratio across 14 2/3 innings (12 appearances) this season in the big leagues. Rotoworld Today, 1:32 pm

    • Yankees option Anthony Misiewicz to Triple-A
Yankees optioned LHP Anthony Misiewicz to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Advice: Misiewicz was with the Yankees for a couple days earlier this week as emergency relief depth, but he’ll head back to the minors with veteran southpaw Tim Hill joining New York’s relief mix. Rotoworld Today, 1:29 pm
    • Pete Fairbanks (thumb) blows save, gets victory
Pete Fairbanks (thumb) blew a save while allowing a run against the Twins on Thursday, but worked two innings to get the victory.

Advice: Fairbanks entered the game with a couple of runners on and Tampa Bay holding a 6-3 cushion. He was able to get the first two outs, but then gave up a game-tying homer to Jose Miranda to blow the save. He was able to get the final three outs after the Rays scored in the 10th, however, so he gets the win. he right-hander missed a couple of days while dealing with a thumb injury, so the positive is he was back on the mound and does at least get a win. Fairbanks is still likely to see save chances going forward even with a fair share of clunkers. Rotoworld Today, 1:28 pm
    • Simeon Woods Richardson limits Rays to two runs
Simeon Woods Richardson held the Rays to just two runs in his six innings of work, but he didn’t factor into the decision Thursday.

Advice: The 23-year-old right-hander struck out six while walking two and allowing four hits. Woods Richardson struggled in his previous outing against the A’s while allowing four runs in four innings, but this was much more like the version we’ve seen for the majority of 2024. Woods Richardson looks legit, and he’ll have another chance to do so against the Diamondbacks on Wednesday. Rotoworld Today, 1:28 pm
