    • Blaze Alexander out Sunday against Orioles
Blaze Alexander is not in the lineup for Sunday’s game against the Orioles.

Advice: Alexander will retreat to the bench for the series finale against Baltimore. Kevin Newman will instead start at shortstop and hit eighth against Dean Kremer and the Orioles. Rotoworld 1 minute ago

    • Back on bench Sunday
Alexander is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles.

Advice: The right-handed-hitting Alexander started each of the past three games, but he appears to be viewed as a short-side platoon player, with two of those three starts coming against left-handed pitching. He'll give way to Kevin Newman at shortstop Sunday while the Orioles bring right-hander Dean Kremer to the hill. Rotowire.com 13 minutes ago

    • Records two hits, stolen base
Keith went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Saturday's 8-2 win over the Astros. He also stole a base.

Advice: Keith didn't start Friday with Houston deploying lefty Framber Valdez, but the second baseman returned Saturday and extended his hitting streak to three games. It's a small bit of progress for Keith, as the 22-year-old rookie is batting just .174 for the season. Expect the Tigers to remain patient with Keith, however, and give the talented youngster plenty of chances to settle in at the MLB level. Rotowire.com Today, 5:58 am

    • Tallies first three hits Saturday
Mastrobuoni went 3-for-4 with a walk, a double, an RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 10-9 loss to the Pirates.

Advice: Mastrobuoni was productive from the No. 8 spot in the lineup and he recorded his first three hits of the season, as he came into the contest 0-for-14 across 10 games so far. The 28-year-old has bounced between Triple-A and the majors and serves in a utility role when he's with the Cubs, so he doesn't see a ton of regular playing time, which makes Saturday's performance a pleasant surprise. • Goes deep in loss
Hoerner went 1-for-3 with a walk, a solo home run, an additional run scored and two total RBI in Saturday's 10-9 loss to the Pirates.

Advice: Hoerner took rookie Paul Skenes deep in the fourth inning for just his second long ball of the season. He drove in another run an inning later when he walked with the bases loaded. The low power output isn't too surprising, as Hoerner had only nine home runs last year and just 10 in 2022. The shortstop has still been productive in May with a .300 batting average and .941 OPS for the month along with both homers and three stolen bases. Rotowire.com Today, 5:35 am

    • Ryan McMahon powers Rockies to win over Rangers
Ryan McMahon went 4-for-5 with an RBI on Saturday, leading the Rockies to an 8-3 win over the Rangers.

Advice: McMahon served as Colorado’s primary offensive catalyst in this one, kicking off a six-run outburst in the seventh inning with an RBI single off Rangers reliever David Robertson. The 29-year-old corner infielder has been a steady, yet unspectacular, fantasy contributor for a couple seasons now. He’s off to a really nice start this year, batting .303/.391/.462 with 16 runs scored, five homers and 21 RBI through 170 plate appearances in 39 games. Rotoworld Today, 3:54 am

    • Four hits in walk-off win
Westburg went 4-for-5 with a double, two RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's 5-4 extra-innings win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: His last hit was the biggest, as Westburg's single in the 11th inning brought home Colton Cowser as the phantom runner for the winning run. Westburg has hit safely in five straight games and 10 of the last 12, and on the season he's slashing .301/.345/.522 with six homers, five steals, 20 runs and 26 RBI in 36 contests. • Smacks solo shot in rehab debut
Gelof (oblique) played a full game at second base in Triple-A Las Vegas' loss to Round Rock on Saturday, going 1-for-5 with a solo home run.

Advice: Gelof's ability to both play a full game on defense and generate enough force with the bat to clear the fences speaks to his seemingly improved health. Gelof is set to be evaluated after each rehab game to determine his progress, and if he doesn't have any concerning residual effects overnight, the 24-year-old could be back in Las Vegas' lineup Sunday. • Breaks out with four hits
McMahon went 4-for-5 with one RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 8-3 win over the Rangers.

Advice: McMahon entered Saturday just 2-for-21 (.095) over his last six contests. The only downside to his performance in this contest was that all four hits were singles. The third baseman is up to a .303/.391/.462 slash line with five home runs, 21 RBI, 16 runs scored and no stolen bases over 39 contests this season. He's never hit higher than .254 or slugged better than .450 in a full season, so the first quarter of the 2024 campaign has essentially been McMahon at his absolute best, which consequently raises a red flag for regression later in the year.
