    • Gerrit Cole (elbow) throws another bullpen session
Gerrit Cole (elbow) threw a 36-pitch bullpen session on Tuesday.

Advice: It’s a bit unclear when exactly Cole will progress to facing hitters in a live batting practice session, but he’s made it through four bullpen sessions without any setbacks. He’s expected to return to New York’s starting rotation at some point in mid-June. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:41 pm

    • Game postponed Tuesday
Bassitt and the Blue Jays won't play against the Orioles on Tuesday since the game was postponed due to inclement weather.

Advice: The game will be made up via a traditional doubleheader on July 29. The Blue Jays haven't officially announced their updated pitching plans, but Bassitt seems likely to start Wednesday's series finale with the rest of the rotation being pushed back. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:50 pm
    • Could return Friday
Carter (back) received a cortisone injection and is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Guardians, and he could rejoin the lineup Friday versus the Angels, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning Newsreports.

Advice: The 21-year-old hasn't seen the field since Saturday and was diagnosed with lower-back inflammation after an MRI on Monday. He'll now be unavailable for at least a couple more days following the injection. Ezequiel Duran is receiving another start in left field Tuesday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:36 pm

    • Absence continuing Tuesday
Turner (illness) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Orioles.

Advice: The 39-year-old will sit for the third consecutive game as he continues to deal with an illness, which has also afflicted teammates Kevin Kiermaier and George Springer, though Kiermaier is back in the lineup Tuesday. Turner should continue to be considered day-to-day heading into Wednesday's series finale in Baltimore. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 2:27 pm

    • Justin Turner (illness) remains out on Tuesday
Justin Turner (illness) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday’s contest against the Orioles.

Advice: Turner remains sidelined for the third straight contest due to illness. The 39-year-old veteran remains day-to-day for now. It’ll be Daniel Vogelbach filling in at designated hitter in his absence. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:19 pm

    • Evan Carter (back) not in Tuesday’s lineup
Evan Carter (back) is absent from the lineup for Tuesday’s contest against the Guardians.

Advice: Carter is targeting a return to the Rangers’ lineup later this week after receiving a cortisone injection on Wednesday to address lower back inflammation. The 21-year-old outfielder appears likely to avoid the injured list, barring something unexpected, and should be ready to roll at some point in a couple days. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:42 pm

    • Dominguez (elbow) beginning rehab assignment
Jasson Dominguez (elbow) is beginning his rehab assignment with Low-A Tampa on Tuesday.

Advice: Dominguez will begin facing competition as he works his way back from the Tommy John surgery he underwent in September. The 21-year-old will likely need to spend a couple of weeks — at least — playing minor-league games before having a chance to return to the New York lineup near the start of June. Dominguez is extremely talented, but he’s a very risky option for the 2024 season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:06 am

    • Takes loss Monday
Leclerc (3-3) was charged with Monday's loss against the Guardians, allowing three runs on two hits and one walk while striking out one over one-third of an inning.

Advice: Starter Michael Lorenzen pitched well enough to win -- he fired seven shutout innings -- but he got little support from the offense or the bullpen, which ceded seven runs over the final two innings. It started with Leclerc, who has allowed runs in three consecutive appearances (five runs, four hits, three walks, three innings). The team's closer to start the season, Leclerc had shifted back to lower-leverage outings and worked his way back with a stretch of nine scoreless innings prior to this recent three-game downturn. His ERA now stands at 6.88 with a 1.71 WHIP and 15 walks over 17 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:21 am

    • Goes deep in victory
Arenado went 1-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Monday's 10-5 victory versus the Angels.

Advice: The Cardinals were shut out over six innings before Arenado ignited an eight-run seventh with an inning-opening solo shot to left field. The long ball was just his third of the season and marked only his second extra-base hit over his past seven games. Aside from the lack of power, Arenado hasn't been far off his usual level of production, slashing .268/.327/.386 with 21 RBI and 15 runs through 40 games. Rotowire.com Monday, 11:04 pm
