    • Jordan Montgomery hit for six runs in loss
      Jordan Montgomery allowed six runs over three innings in a loss to the Dodgers on Wednesday.

      Advice: Montgomery had pitched well in his first two starts of the season, but was tagged for six runs against the Dodgers. Andy Pages got the scoring started with a two-run homer. Two doubles, a walk, and a base hit brought three more in to score before the end of the frame. Will Smith added a solo homer to lead off the third. Montgomery would complete the inning, but that would be it. The 31-year-old left-hander ends the day with a 5.63 ERA, 1.31 WHIP, and an 8/4 K/BB ratio across 16 innings.       Fraley is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres.

      Advice: For the second straight day, Fraley finds himself on the bench with a right-handed pitcher (Joe Musgrove) on the hill. The Reds haven't indicated that Fraley is nursing an injury, but the outfielder has thus far struggled to bounce back since returning to the lineup after a week-long absence due to an illness. In his first three games back in action, Fraley went 0-for-11 with five strikeouts.     • Set to start Wednesday's game
      Montgomery is scheduled to start Wednesday's series finale against the Dodgers at Chase Field, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

      Advice: Montgomery had been in line to take the hill Tuesday, but the Diamondbacks ended up scratching him from the start after he had gone through a full warmup while a bee swarm near the netting at home plate forced a two-hour delay before the game finally got underway. The Diamondbacks opted for an impromptu bullpen game in the eventual 4-3 extra-inning win, and Montgomery and Arizona's other rotation members will all get pushed back one day in the pitching schedule as a result.     • Stuck with loss Tuesday
      Lopez (2-1) took the loss Tuesday against the Mariners, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks while striking out seven over five innings.

      Advice: Lopez struck out the side to begin his night en route to tying his season-high in strikeouts. He pitched well overall, but there was not much he could do with Atlanta not scoring until the eighth inning. His one costly mistake came in the third after allowing a two-run blast to Jorge Polanco and the Mariners would tack on a third run in the fourth, which proved to be the deciding run in the game. Tuesday was the first time Lopez had failed to pitch at least six innings and surrender more than a run. He's now given up a home run in back-to-back outings. Still, the 30-year-old has been nothing short of spectacular through the first month, posting a 1.50 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 31:10 K:BB in 30 innings.     • Carlos Estévez gives up two homers in taking loss
      Carlos Estévez took his second blown save and a loss after giving up three runs and two homers in the ninth Tuesday against the Mariners.

      Advice: The good news for Estévez is that, with Robert Stephenson out for the year and José Soriano in the rotation, he has no competition at the moment. Still, his stuff is definitely down from last year, and he hasn’t shown much improvement there from the beginning of the spring.     • Reynaldo López allows three over five in loss
      Reynaldo López allowed three runs in five innings while picking up a loss Tuesday to the Mariners.

      Advice: López allowed six hits over those five frames, and he struck out seven while walking three with Josh Rojas getting all three free passes. The 30-year-old pitched better than his line suggested, but a two-run homer by Jorge Polanco turned an excellent outing into a shaky one from a fantasy perspective.       Estevez (0-1) blew the save and took the loss Tuesday, allowing three runs on three hits with two strikeouts over two-thirds of an inning against Philadelphia.

      Advice: Each of the three hits against Estevez went for extra bases, with Nick Castellanos hitting a solo homer and Johan Rojas bringing in Bryson Stott -- who reached on a ground-rule double -- on a two-run homer to give the Phillies the lead. Estevez has now surrendered one or more runs in three of his last four appearances, a stretch that ballooned his ERA from 0.00 to 6.23 and resulted in a pair of blown saves. While his closing job seems to be safe for now, Matt Moore and Luis Garcia would be the names to know if Estevez begins to cede ninth-inning work. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 10:22 pm

      McArthur picked up the save in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Blue Jays, striking out one in a perfect ninth inning.

      Advice: Naylor launched his seventh home run of the campaign and scored multiple times for the second time this season. Even with Naylor's long ball, he's batting 3-for-22 (.136) over his last six games. However, he's added a pair of stolen bases and has struck out four times to three walks during that stretch.
