    • Allows one run in short start
Maeda (abdomen) allowed one run on one hit across four innings and did not factor into the decision in Tuesday's 5-4, 10-inning loss to the Nationals. He walked four and struck out five.

Advice: Maeda was dialed in other than the four walks, which matched a season high, and he managed to lower his ERA a bit to 5.89. The righty threw only two pitches in his last outing Wednesday before departing with right abdominal discomfort, but he wasn't forced to miss any turns through the rotation. The Tigers were still understandably cautious with Maeda, as he tossed just 77 pitches Tuesday. The veteran should be able to go a bit longer in his next scheduled start, which is penciled in for Sunday against the Astros on the road. Rotowire.com Today, 7:23 pm

    • Bednar gives up homer, earns 14th save vs. Cards
David Bednar allowed one earned run while picking up the save in Tuesday’s win over the Cardinals.

Advice: Bednar earned his 14th save on the season in this one, but it didn’t come easy. After giving up a leadoff homer to Nolan Gorman to kick off the ninth, Bednar would later walk José Fermin with two outs before a catcher’s interference put Iván Herrera on base. Bednar would strike out Michael Siani to end the game, but it was yet another rough outing for Bednar, who is sporting a 5.40 ERA on the year. He’s hard to trust in fantasy, but Bednar will continue to earn save opportunities in a Pirates bullpen that has underwhelmed in 2024. Rotoworld Today, 7:22 pm
    • CJ Abrams triples, collects RBI in Nats’ victory
CJ Abrams went 1-for-4 with an RBI on Tuesday, leading the Nationals to a 5-4 extra-inning win over the Tigers in a 10-inning marathon.

Advice: Abrams extended Washington’s early lead with a run-scoring triple in the fifth inning before coming around to score on a sacrifice fly from ensuing batter Lane Thomas. The 23-year-old speedster has been in a bit of a rut offensively over the last few weeks, hitting .203 (25-for-123) with only three homers and two steals over his last 30 games. • Kenta Maeda allows one run Tuesday in no-decision
Kenta Maeda gave up one run over four innings on Tuesday in a no-decision against the Nationals.

Advice: Maeda was a bit all over the place in this one as he struck out five, handed out four free passes, and needed 77 pitches (40 strikes) to complete four frames. A bases-loaded walk to Jesse Winker in the third inning represented the lone tally against him in this one as gave up only one hit over four frames to limit the potential damage. He’ll bring a lackluster 5.89 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 35/16 K/BB ratio across 44 1/3 innings (11 starts) into a road outing on Sunday against the Astros. Rotoworld Today, 6:34 pm

    • Bobby Miller to make rehab start Thursday at AAA
Bobby Miller will make another minor league rehab start on Thursday for Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Advice: Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters that Miller will return to Los Angeles if he gets through this latest rehab outing without any issues. The 25-year-old righty has been on the shelf since mid-April due to right shoulder inflammation, but it sounds like he’s really close to making it back. Rotoworld Today, 5:12 pm

    • Geared up for another rehab start
Miller (shoulder) will make another rehab start with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Miller was effective in his last outing with Oklahoma City, pitching four innings, allowing one run on four hits and two walks while striking out two batters Friday. Manager Dave Roberts said that if all goes well Thursday, it'll be Miller's final appearance of his rehab assignment before he'll return to the major-league roster. The 25-year-old has been on the 15-day injured list since April 13 due to right shoulder inflammation, but Miller now appears to be on the doorstep of making his return after two months away from the playing with the Dodgers. • Jeff McNeil not starting Tuesday against Marlins
Jeff McNeil is not in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Marlins.

Advice: McNeil will grab a seat on the bench with Jesus Luzardo starting for the Marlins. Jose Iglesias will be the starting second baseman and hit ninth while McNeil takes a seat. Rotoworld Today, 12:24 pm

    • Absent from lineup
McNeil is out of the starting nine for Tuesday's game against the Marlins.

Advice: McNeil will give way to Jose Iglesias at second base with southpaw Jesus Luzardo on the mound for Miami on Tuesday. McNeil remains in the strong side of a platoon with Iglesias, with Iglesias owning a 1.067 OPS in 15 plate appearances against LHP compared to McNeil's .653 OPS against lefties. • Slow recovery progress
Muncy (oblique) said Tuesday on Foul Territory that he's "not progressing as fast" as he would like from his strained right oblique.

Advice: Muncy's comments mesh with what manager Dave Roberts said over the weekend, which was that the third baseman is working on a "slow program." The 33-year-old recently progressed to taking dry swings and doing plyo-ball workouts, and he doesn't appear to be close to rejoining the Dodgers. Enrique Hernandez has been operating as Los Angeles' primary third baseman in the meantime and will likely continue to fill that role. Rotowire.com Today, 11:48 am
