    • Two more steals in win
Garcia went 2-for-5 with a double, two stolen bases and two runs scored in Friday's 10-3 win over the Guardians.

Advice: Garcia was briefly bumped down the order last weekend, but he hasn't really rebounded since returning to the leadoff spot for the last five games. His multi-hit effort Friday was his first since June 14 and just his third such game in June, a month in which he's batting .153 (15-for-98). The infielder is now at a .234/.288/.347 slash line with five home runs, 40 RBI, 51 runs scored and 21 steals over 82 contests, with his speed being the biggest upside in his game this year. • Garcia hits RBI triple in win over Guardians
Maikel Garcia went 1-for-4 with a run scored, a triple, and an RBI against the Guardians on Thursday.

Advice: Garcia tied the game at one with an RBI triple in the sixth inning and came around to score on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Vinnie Pasquantino. Those were the only runs the Royals scored on the night, but it was enough to squeak out a 2-1 victory. Garcia needs to have more of an impact if he’s going to retain his spot atop the Kansas City lineup for the rest of the season. He’s hitting .232 with a .629 OPS on the season. • Maikel Garcia goes 0-for-4 out of leadoff spot
Maikel Garcia went 0-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts on Wednesday in the Royals’ win over the Marlins.

Advice: Yikes. Garcia’s latest hitless effort leaves him with a .174 (21-for-121) batting average with zero homers and six steals over his last 30 games. It’s fair to wonder how much longer Kansas City can afford to stick with him anywhere near the top of their lineup moving forward. Rotoworld Wednesday, 2:24 pm

    • Nabs two bags in loss
Garcia went 0-for-2 with two steals, two walks and one run scored in Tuesday's loss to the Marlins.

Advice: Garcia drew a second consecutive start at the keystone and stole two bases in the first inning after leading off with a walk. The 24-year-old has struggled mightily in June, as he entered the contest slashing .145/.211/.169 with no homers and four steals across 90 plate appearances. The Kansas City infield became more crowded with CJ Alexander debuting and Michael Massey (back) returning from the injured list Monday (though Massey will serve as DH for now), so Garcia will have to start producing at the plate and on the basepaths to maintain a starting role. • Receiving breather
Keith is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against Philadelphia.

Advice: Keith had made 10 consecutive starts at second base, but he'll get the day off Tuesday against Ranger Suarez and the Phillies. Instead, Andy Ibanez will bat second and slot in at the keystone. During the 10-game stretch, Keith went 14-for-39 (.359) with a pair of homers and a stolen base. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 11:51 am

    • Colt Keith not in Tuesday’s lineup against lefty
Colt Keith is not in the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Phillies.

Advice: Keith will take a seat with Andy Ibanez getting the start at second base in the 22-year-old’s place. Carson Kelly is also out with Ranger Suarez on the mound for the Phillies, with Jake Rogers instead getting the nod behind the plate. Rotoworld Tuesday, 11:49 am

    • Maikel Garcia leads off, shifts to second base
Maikel Garcia is back in the leadoff spot and playing second base for the Royals on Monday.

Advice: It’s the first time Garcia has played anywhere other third this year, but the Royals just called up a third baseman in CJ Alexander and have Michael Massey apparently limited to DH at the moment. As a result, Garcia will get to show his versatility. The return to the leadoff spot is also good news; he had led off throughout the season before being dropped to seventh on Saturday and eighth on Sunday. Considering that he has a .291 OBP, there’s no blaming the Royals for making the switch. Still, he remains a better bet than the alternative options to bat ahead of Bobby Witt Jr. Rotoworld Monday, 2:07 pm

    • Loses hold of leadoff gig
Garcia went 1-for-3 with a base hit in Sunday's 4-0 loss to the Rangers.

Advice: Garcia had made each of his first 74 starts of the season as the Royals' leadoff hitter, but he was dropped down to seventh and eighth in the batting order over the final two games of the weekend in Texas. His slide down the lineup comes while he's mustered a .152/.221/.177 slash line over 20 games thus far in June. The Royals haven't yet settled on a replacement for Garcia atop the lineup, as both Adam Frazier (thumb) and Nick Loftin received turns in the leadoff spot to close out the weekend. • Big effort in rout
Keith went 4-for-5 with a double, a home run, three total runs scored and three RBI in Sunday's 11-2 win over the White Sox.

Advice: Keith got the scoring started with a two-run home run, his fourth of the season, in the first inning and proceeded to record his third four-hit effort of the year. The youngster is riding a five-game hitting streak and is batting .258 this month. Keith is now batting .243 overall and is trending in the right direction after a slow start to his rookie campaign.
