    • Strikes out 10 in short start
Cease allowed four runs on six hits and two walks while striking out 10 over 4.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Brewers on Friday.

Advice: Cease has failed to complete five innings in three of his last seven starts. He labored in this one, throwing 68 of 106 pitches for strikes while posting double-digit strikeouts for the second time this year. The right-hander is at a 4.14 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 116:28 K:BB over 91.1 innings through 16 starts. He's projected to make his next start at home versus the Nationals. • Kutter Crawford gives up three homers in loss
Kutter Crawford surrendered five runs — three earned — in 6 1/3 innings Friday in a loss to the Reds.

Advice: Crawford surrendered three homers tonight, bringing his total allowed to seven in his last three starts. He’s given up at least one in seven straight outings. Odds are that Crawford will bounce back from this, but he’s never been more than a fringy mixed-league option in a bad situation for pitchers. Rotoworld 30 minutes ago

    • Dylan Cease strikes out 10, allows four runs vs. MIL
Dylan Cease allowed four runs in 4 2/3 innings in a no-decision with 10 strikeouts against the Brewers on Friday.

Advice: Cease needed 106 pitches to get the 14 outs, so he wasn’t able to get the final out needed to qualify for a win. The right-hander did at least help with the punchouts, and he’s now struck out 116 in his 91 1/3 innings in his first year with the Padres. Cease has scuffled in June, and will try and be more efficient — while still missing bats — against the Nationals on Wednesday. Rotoworld Today, 10:00 pm

    • Wins with quality start
Eovaldi (4-3) yielded two runs on four hits and a walk over six innings Friday, striking out six and earning a win over the Royals.

Advice: Eovaldi coughed up a solo shot to Kyle Isbel in the third inning and gave up one other run in the fifth. Since returning from the injured list, Eovaldi has produced a 4.01 ERA while going 2-1 through five starts. He's turned in two quality starts in his last three outings and forced 15 whiffs Friday, his best total since April 20. The veteran righty owns a 3.14 ERA with a 70:25 K:BB through 66 innings this season. Eovaldi's next start is lined up to be in Baltimore. Rotowire.com Today, 8:01 pm
    • Nathan Eovaldi fans six in victory over the Royals
Nathan Eovaldi snagged his fourth victory of the season on Friday night, limiting the Royals to two runs on four hits over his six innings of work.

Advice: The 34-year-old right-hander punched out six batters on the night while allowing two walks. He served up a solo homer to Kyle Isbel in the third inning and an RBI single to Garrett Hampson in the fifth but was able to limit the damage otherwise. Eovaldi got 14 swings and misses on 98 pitches on the evening, posting a CSW of 27 percent. He’ll see if he can keep the good times rolling as he carries a 3.14 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and a 70/25 K/BB ratio (66 innings) into Wednesday’s battle against the Brewers in Milwaukee. • Austin Riley stays hot with another homer
Austin Riley went 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored, and two walks on Friday against the Yankees.

Advice: Riley’s OPS has climbed from .618 to .744 in exactly one week. That is truly remarkable. It already feels like his putrid April and May will be a distant memory soon. If there was any question, the buy-low window on Riley has slammed shut. Rotoworld Today, 7:27 pm

    • Royals activate OF Hunter Renfroe from IL
Royals activated OF Hunter Renfroe from the 10-day IL.

Advice: Renfroe’s toe turned out not to be fractured after all and he’s back with the Royals already. He’s hitting .200 with six home runs and 26 RBI in 170 at-bats with Kansas City. Renfroe will have to pick up his performance or the Royals could look for an outfield upgrade around the trade deadline. Rotoworld Today, 12:12 pm

    • Returns from injured list
The Royals reinstated Renfroe (toe) from the 15-day injured list Friday.

Advice: The 32-year-old resumed taking swings over the weekend and is back on the active roster after spending the 10-day minimum on the shelf with a bruised toe. Renfroe had a hot start to June prior to the injury as he went 7-for-18 with two doubles, two homers and six RBI in six games. Rotowire.com Today, 8:47 am

    • Homers, extends hitting streak
Diaz went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run Thursday against the Twins.

Advice: Diaz collected two hits, including his fifth homer of the season, to extend his hitting streak to 13 games and his on-base streak to 22 games. He's batting .351 over the course of the hit streak, though he has just one home run, one double, four RBI and six runs scored to show for his efforts. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:15 pm
