    • Nolan Gorman goes 0-for-3 against Tigers
Nolan Gorman went 0-for-3 in the loss to the Tigers on Wednesday, dropping his average to .190.

Advice: Statcast thinks Gorman has been fairly unlucky, but his strikeout rate remains terrible and he’s not hitting the ball hard as consistently as he did last year. The Cardinals should stick with him for now, but they might consider sending him down if he’s still not hitting once Tommy Edman returns. Rotoworld Today, 1:08 pm

    • Leaves yard Tuesday
Polanco went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Tuesday's 3-2 win over Atlanta.

Advice: Polanco opened up the scoring with a two-run shot to right off Reynaldo Lopez in the third inning. Polanco had not driven in any runs since he last homered back on April 15. He's now reached base in five straight games, though he has struck out seven times over his last 12 at-bats. It's been a very slow campaign at the dish so far for Polanco, who's now slashing .170/.314/.290 with four homers, 10 RBI, 11 runs and a 20:37 BB:K in 121 plate appearances. • Jorge Polanco hits two-run homer against Atlanta
Jorge Polanco hit a two-run homer in Seattle’s victory over Atlanta on Tuesday.

Advice: Polanco gave Seattle a 2-0 lead with a homer off Reynaldo López, and it’s the fourth homer of the season for the second baseman. The former Minnesota Twin stalwart has gotten off to a slow start with just a .176 average and .290 slugging mark, but it seems very likely the results will kick into high gear over the next few weeks/months. • Contributes stolen base Wednesday
Polanco went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in a loss to the Rangers on Wednesday.

Advice: Polanco's struggles at the plate continued for the most part, with his average now sitting at a paltry .175 through 99 plate appearances. However, the veteran also sports a surprisingly solid .333 on-base percentage that's largely the result of his 18.9 percent walk rate. The free pass he drew Wednesday also led to his first stolen base of the campaign, and the combination of Polanco's career-low .234 BABIP and above-average 24.0 percent line-drive rate seems to imply his luck when putting the ball in play should start to turn soon. • Breaks slump with walk-off blast
Gorman hit a two-run, walk-off home run in his lone at-bat in Monday's 5-3 win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Gorman was given Monday off, but he ultimately entered the game as a defensive replacement. His lone at-bat ended the game, as he took Kyle Nelson deep in the ninth inning to complete the Cardinals' comeback win. Gorman has four homers, 10 RBI, six runs scored and three doubles over 84 plate appearances this season, but he's slashing just .179/.238/.372 and striking out at a 38.1 percent clip, so he's not out of the woods yet. Gorman should continue to play against most right-handers, but he'll rarely be in the lineup versus southpaws. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 10:21 am

    • Nolan Gorman drills walk-off homer to sink D-backs
Nolan Gorman slugged a game-winning two-run homer on Monday, leading the Cardinals to a 5-3 walk-off victory over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Gorman came off the bench to wallop a 425-foot walk-off shot to right field off Diamondbacks lefty reliever Kyle Nelson. It wss his fourth round-tripper of the season and first time taking a southpaw deep in the opening month of the year. The 23-year-old slugging second baseman has gotten off to an excruatingly-slow start this season, batting .179 (14-for-78) with six runs scored, four homers and 10 RBI through 21 contests. It feels like only a matter of time before he gets going, but he’s struck out a staggering 32 times already in just 84 plate appearances. Rotoworld Monday, 7:38 pm

    • Gorman out of Monday’s lineup
Nolan Gorman is out of Monday’s lineup against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: The slumping Gorman also got the day off on Saturday. Alec Burleson will make the start in left field and bat sixth against Brandon Pfaadt. Rotoworld Apr 22, 1:01 pm

    • Not in Monday's lineup
Gorman is absent from the lineup for Monday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Gorman was demoted to the eighth spot in the Cardinals lineup for Sunday's 2-0 loss to the Brewers and now finds himself out of the starting nine altogether. Over his last four contests, Gorman has gone 0-for-17 with 10 strikeouts. Gorman could receive more frequent days off if his slump persists much longer. Rotowire.com Apr 22, 12:52 pm
