    • Paddack allows four in no-decision Thursday
Chris Paddack allowed four runs in 5 2/3 innings and got a no-decision in the Twins 7-6 victory over the Royals on Thursday.

Advice: Paddack allowed five hits, walked two and struck out four. Two of the hits were home runs. He’s now allowed 11 home runs in 11 starts this season. Paddack allowed two runs or less in four of his six starts in May. His ERA is now 4.57 on the year. The 28-year-old right-hander is set to face the Yankees on the road next week.

    • Walks five in loss
Flexen (2-5) allowed two runs on four hits and five walks while striking out six over five innings to take the loss Wednesday versus the Blue Jays.

Advice: Flexen doesn't have the best command, but he hit a low point for the year with this outing. The right-hander has surrendered 16 runs across 18.1 innings over his last four starts, and Wednesday was the first time in that span he's completed five innings. He's now at a 5.50 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 42:22 K:BB over 54 innings across 12 appearances (10 starts) this season. Flexen is projected to make his next start on the road versus the Cubs. • Chris Flexen walks five in loss
Chris Flexen allowed two earned runs across five innings on Wednesday against the Blue Jays. He walked five and struck out six in a loss.

Advice: Flexen is as ho-hum a starter as you’ll see in the league right now. He nibbled all night against a struggling Blue Jays lineup and his velocity was down a tick compared to his season average. He likely wouldn’t garner a rotation spot on any team besides the White Sox. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:54 pm

    • Earns fourth win
Dunning (4-3) earned the win Wednesday over the Diamondbacks, allowing three hits and four walks over five scoreless innings. He struck out six.

Advice: Dunning had to contend with some traffic Wednesday, though he'd manage to keep Arizona off the board for five innings, earning his first win since April 28. It's an encouraging bounce-back effort from Dunning in his second start back from the IL -- he took the loss in his last outing against the Phillies, allowing five runs (three earned) in 3.1 innings. Overall, Dunning lowered his ERA to 3.94 with a 1.20 WHIP and 53:22 K:BB across nine starts (45.2 innings) this year. He's currently lined up for a home matchup with the Tigers in his next start. • Dane Dunning works five scoreless vs. D-backs
Dane Dunning struck out six over five scoreless innings on Wednesday in a win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Pitching on extra rest due to a sinus infection that he dealt with last weekend, Dunning got plenty of run support from the Rangers’ lineup and held Arizona scoreless, scattering three hits and four walks over five frames. The 29-year-old righty has struggled to work deep into outings, pitching into the sixth inning just once over his last seven starts dating back to April 12. He’ll bring a pedestrian 3.94 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 53/22 K/BB ratio across 45 2/3 innings (nine starts) into a favorable home outing on Tuesday against the Tigers. Rotoworld Wednesday, 2:21 pm

    • Let down by defense Tuesday
Littell (2-3) took the loss Tuesday as the Rays fell 3-0 to the A's, allowing three unearned runs on five hits and a walk over seven innings. He struck out nine.

Advice: The right-hander set a new career high in strikeouts, generating 30 called or swinging strikes among his 95 pitches, but a Brandon Lowe error helped prolong the sixth inning and set the stage for a three-run homer by Miguel Andujar. Littell had to settle for his fourth quality start of the year, and he'll take a 3.03 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 64:10 K:BB through 62.1 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come on the road this weekend in Baltimore. • Fans eight in quality start
Glasnow came away with a no-decision in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader sweep of the Mets, allowing two runs on two hits and four walks over seven innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: The right-hander produced his eighth quality start of the season while fanning at least eight batters for the sixth time in his last seven trips to the mound, but Glasnow exited the game in line for the loss before the Dodgers rallied late and eventually won it in the 10th inning. Glasnow will take a 3.04 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 95:21 K:BB through 74 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come early next week in Pittsburgh. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 6:29 am

    • Decent in no-decision
Cortes allowed two runs on five hits and struck out four without walking a batter over 5.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Angels on Tuesday.

Advice: Cortes allowed multiple runs for the first time in three starts, but it was still a passable outing for the southpaw. He allowed a total of nine runs (eight earned) over 29 innings across five starts in May while adding a 30:8 K:BB in that span. Cortes is at a 3.30 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 67:15 K:BB through 71 innings over 12 starts this season. He's projected to make his next start on the road in San Francisco. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 10:55 pm

    • Nestor Cortes holds Angels to two runs over 5 1/3
Nestor Cortes was uninvolved in the decision Tuesday after allowing two runs in 5 1/3 innings against the Angels.

Advice: The key for Cortes this season is simply to allow zero earned runs. He’s 3-0 when that happens and 0-4 the rest of the time. It’s something he’ll just have to work on prior to his start against the Giants on Sunday. Rotoworld Tuesday, 10:28 pm
