    • Out again Tuesday
Bader is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game in St. Louis.

Advice: It's the second straight day Bader has been out of the lineup, although he did contribute a pinch-hit double Monday (before being thrown out on the bases). Brandon Nimmo is in center field and DJ Stewart will occupy left. Rotowire.com Today, 1:54 pm

    • Alek Thomas to undergo MRI on left hamstring
Alek Thomas will undergo an MRI after experiencing renewed left hamstring discomfort.

Advice: Thomas hasn’t felt right since Sunday’s rehab game with Triple-A Reno and will undergo some additional testing to determine the extent of the issue. The 24-year-old outfielder has been on the shelf since early April recovering from a left hamstring strain. There should be an update on his status at some point later this week, if not sooner. • Status uncertain following setback
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Tuesday that Thomas is headed back to Phoenix to be reevaluated after feeling renewed discomfort in his left hamstring while on a rehab assignment, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Advice: Thomas had appeared poised to be activated from the 10-day injured list soon, but now his status is cloudy again following a setback. He first injured the hamstring back on March 31 and had played four rehab games with Triple-A Reno. More clarity on Thomas' situation should be available later this week. • Swipes bag Monday
Tatis went 1-for-5 with a run and a stolen base in Monday's 6-3 win against the Cubs.

Advice: Tatis helped generate San Diego's first run, reaching on a leadoff single in the sixth inning, advancing to second on another single, then taking part in a double steal with Jake Cronenworth before both players scored on a Jurickson Profar hit. Tatis has been somewhat quiet at the plate this season, but he's still been moderately productive with a .248/.327/.442 slash line, seven homers, 20 RBI, 28 runs and five stolen bases through 168 plate appearances. He's gone 7-for-23 with a homer, a steal, six runs and three RBI through the first five games of May. Rotowire.com Today, 9:47 am
    • Starts in left field
Duran started in left field and went 0-for-2 in Monday's 4-2 win over Oakland.

Advice: Duran made his first outfield start of 2024, coming against lefty Alex Wood. He was eventually pinch hit for by Evan Carter when a right-handed reliever entered the game. Duran, who started 32 games in the outfield last season, will be part of the crew that replaces the injured Wyatt Langford (hamstring), who is expected to miss 3-to-4 weeks. Duran is the lone righty-hitting outfielder in that replacement mix, joining lefties Carter and Travis Jankowski. Of the trio, Carter is expected to get the bulk of the starts. Duran wielded a capable backup bat in 2023, posting 14 home runs and a .767 OPS, but he's off to less enticing start this year (.226/.293/.264). Rotowire.com Today, 3:44 am

    • Harrison Bader out Monday against Cardinals
Harrison Bader is not in the starting lineup for Monday’s game against the Cardinals.

Advice: Bader will get a day off against his former team. Jeff McNeil is in left field with Starling Marte in center, and Joey Wendle will start at second base while Bader rests. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:44 pm

    • Absent from lineup
Bader is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Cardinals, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Advice: He'll begin the game on the bench while Brandon Nimmo slides over to center field. Bader is batting .278 this season but has managed just three extra-base hits. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:56 pm

    • MLB updates ruling Friday
MLB changed the official scoring on a play during Friday's game, which left Houck charged with three earned runs over six-plus innings, not four, Peter Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

Advice: A fielder's choice in the seventh inning was updated to a throwing error by catcher Reese McGuire. The ruling drops Houck's season ERA to 1.99 and gives him a sixth quality start. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:21 am

    • Homers, extends hit streak
Marte went 1-for-4 with a walk, a home run and two RBI in Sunday's 11-4 win over San Diego.

Advice: Marte took Matt Waldron deep with a two-run home run in the first inning, giving the Diamondbacks an early lead. It was the seventh consecutive game with a hit for Marte, who homered for the first time in 16 games. He's belted six home runs and is slashing .307/.361/.526 through 35 contests.
