Assad (3-0) allowed four hits and three walks over six scoreless innings Sunday, striking out four and earning a win over the Brewers.

Advice: Assad scattered baserunners throughout his start but never faced any heavy threats. He's allowed two or fewer runs in each of his first seven outings of 2024, but Sunday's performance was his first quality start since his season debut April 2. Assad dropped his season ERA to 1.66 with a 31:12 K:BB through 38 innings. He failed to factor into the decision in his previous three starts despite registering a 1.76 ERA over that span. Assad is currently in line to start in Pittsburgh next weekend. Rotowire.com Sunday, 8:24 pm

    • Javier Assad fires six scoreless to defeat Brewers
Javier Assad delivered a strong performance in Sunday afternoon’s victory over the Brewers, scattering just four hits over six innings of shutout baseball.

Advice: The 26-year-old right-hander struck out four batters while issuing three free passes in the ballgame. The Brewers never really mounted a serious scoring threat against him, and he was able to cruise to an easy victory in this one. Assad got seven swings and misses on 94 pitches on the afternoon, registering a CSW of 29 percent. Now 3-0 on the season, Assad sports an impressive 1.66 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and a 31/12 K/BB ratio over 38 innings through his first seven starts on the season. He’ll look to keep the good times rolling when he takes on the Pirates in Pittsburgh on Saturday. Rotoworld Sunday, 2:42 pm

    • Fans seven over six frames
Littell allowed one run on six hits while striking out seven over six innings in a no-decision against the Mets on Saturday.

Advice: The only run Littell allowed on the night came across in the first inning when the right-hander allowed a leadoff double to Brandon Nimmo to open the frame followed by an RBI single from Starling Marte. From there, Littell went on to retire 10 of the next 11 batters he faced, with six of those batters going down on strikeouts. It marked the fourth start this season in which he's allowed one run or fewer, and he's now gone six innings in three straight, posting a 20:0 K:BB over that stretch. Rotowire.com Sunday, 5:25 am

    • Doesn't go deep enough to win
Dunning allowed two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out four batters over 4.2 innings in a no-decision against Kansas City on Saturday.

Advice: Texas jumped out a 7-0 lead through four innings, which appeared to set Dunning up for an easy win. Meanwhile, the right-hander cruised through those four frames, facing the minimum 12 batters. However, Dunning ran into trouble in the top of the fifth, allowing four Royals to reach base in a span of five hitters, resulting in two runs and a two-out hook. That prevented Dunning from qualifying for the victory, which would have given him his first winning streak of the campaign. He still managed to lower his season ERA slightly to 4.10, but it was a disappointing outing after Dunning punched out 10 batters in a dominant win his previous time on the mound. • Zack Littell delivers another strong outing Saturday
Zack Littell struck out seven and allowed one run over six innings on Saturday in a no-decision against the Mets.

Advice: Littell got into trouble early when Starling Marte connected for an RBI single in the opening frame, but that was all that New York’s offense would generate for the remainder of the contest. The 28-year-old righty continues to impress with his four straight outing with at least six strikeouts, while also boasting elite control. He’ll bring a solid 3.00 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 42/5 K/BB ratio across 39 innings (seven starts) into a home outing on Friday against the Yankees. Rotoworld Saturday, 9:30 pm

    • Dane Dunning lasts just 4 2/3 frames vs. Royals
Dane Dunning surrendered two runs over 4 2/3 innings on Saturday in a no-decision against the Royals.

Advice: Dunning wasn’t able to stick around long enough to collect a win as Rangers manager Bruce Bochy went to his bullpen with two outs in the fifth inning after just 79 pitches (44 strikes). He finished with four strikeouts and only issued one walk. The 29-year-old righty hasn’t been asked to work deep into starts over the last few weeks, but he’s missing enough bats to be relevant for fantasy managers in deeper mixed leagues. He’ll bring a solid 4.10 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 43/17 K/BB ratio across 37 1/3 innings (seven starts) into a challenging road matchup on Friday against the Rockies at Coors Field. • Chris Paddack goes six scoreless in beating Boston
Chris Paddack yielded just a pair of hits over six scoreless innings Friday as the Twins topped the Red Sox 6-2 on Friday.

Advice: Yeah, Boston’s offense is overrated, but this is the best Paddack has looked apart from a start against the White Sox. He got 12 missed swings, and only five of the 14 balls in play against him were hard hit. The win moves him to 3-1 with a 4.78 ERA. He’s not throwing well enough to be a quality play in mixed leagues, but he wouldn’t be a horrible option in a home start against the Mariners next week. Rotoworld Friday, 8:56 pm

    • Wins third straight
Paddack (3-1) yielded two hits and a walk over six shutout frames Friday, striking out six and earning a win over the Red Sox.

Advice: After working out of a two-on, no-out jam in the first inning, Paddack locked in and rolled through the Red Sox. He's now 3-1 with a three-game winning streak; during that span, he's posted a 2.00 ERA and an 18:2 K:BB over 18 frames. Paddack forced 12 whiffs, including six with a four-seam that averaged 94.3 mph. The 28-year-old righty has dropped his ERA to 4.78 through six starts. He's currently in line face the Mariners at home next week. Rotowire.com Friday, 8:08 pm

    • Assad struggles to miss bats in no decision
Javier Assad allowed one run on five hits in five innings in a no-decision against the Mets on Tuesday.

Advice: Assad didn’t walk a batter on the night, but he had just one strikeout, a seven percent whiff rate, and a 17 percent CSW. He had just three whiffs on 45 swings in the game and all three of them came on version of a fastball. Assad doesn’t have overpowering stuff, but he can mix and match the shapes and movement on his fastball and has a deep six-pitch arsenal that keeps hitters off balance. That worked tonight and it’s worked for much of the season as evidenced by his 1.97 ERA, but it’s a risky tightrope to walk. He’s still worth starting in most formats while he’s going well, but he can possibly be benched in shallower leagues with weekend against the Brewers. Rotoworld Tuesday, 8:20 pm
