    • Starts in left field
Duran started in left field and went 0-for-2 in Monday's 4-2 win over Oakland.

Advice: Duran made his first outfield start of 2024, coming against lefty Alex Wood. He was eventually pinch hit for by Evan Carter when a right-handed reliever entered the game. Duran, who started 32 games in the outfield last season, will be part of the crew that replaces the injured Wyatt Langford (hamstring), who is expected to miss three-to-four weeks. Duran is the lone righty-hitting outfielder in that replacement mix, joining lefties Carter and Travis Jankowski. Of the trio, Carter is expected to get the bulk of the starts. Duran wielded a capable backup bat in 2023, posting 14 home runs and a .767 OPS, but he's off to less enticing start this year (.226/.293/.264). Rotowire.com 31 minutes ago

    • Harrison Bader out Monday against Cardinals
Harrison Bader is not in the starting lineup for Monday’s game against the Cardinals.

Advice: Bader will get a day off against his former team. Jeff McNeil is in left field with Starling Marte in center, and Joey Wendle will start at second base while Bader rests. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:44 pm
    • Absent from lineup
Bader is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Cardinals, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Advice: He'll begin the game on the bench while Brandon Nimmo slides over to center field. Bader is batting .278 this season but has managed just three extra-base hits. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:56 pm
    • Homers, extends hit streak
Marte went 1-for-4 with a walk, a home run and two RBI in Sunday's 11-4 win over San Diego.

Advice: Marte took Matt Waldron deep with a two-run home run in the first inning, giving the Diamondbacks an early lead. It was the seventh consecutive game with a hit for Marte, who homered for the first time in 16 games. He's belted six home runs and is slashing .307/.361/.526 through 35 contests. • In line for return this week
Thomas (hamstring) served as the designated hitter and went 1-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored for Triple-A Reno on Sunday.

Advice: Thomas, who played in the field Saturday and DH on Friday, has appeared in the three consecutive games. He hit safely in all three and drove in five runs. If there are no setbacks, he's expected to meet up with the Diamondbacks in Cincinnati for a three-game series beginning Tuesday, according to Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports. The Reds have right-hander Frankie Montas scheduled to throw Tuesday, so the lefty-hitting Thomas could be in the lineup for the series opener. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:03 am

    • Homers in loss
Contreras went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and three strikeouts in Sunday's 5-1 loss to the White Sox.

Advice: Contreras accounted for all the offense for St. Louis on Sunday, launching a solo shot off of Garrett Crochet in the bottom of the fourth inning. The long ball was his sixth of the year and second in the last four contests. Contreras is now batting .275 with six home runs, 11 RBI, 18 runs scored and two stolen bases over 102 at-bats in 29 games in 2024. Rotowire.com Sunday, 2:57 pm

    • Willson Contreras goes deep in loss to White Sox
Willson Contreras clubbed his sixth home run of the season on Sunday afternoon, accounting for the entirety of the Cardinals’ offense in a loss to the White Sox.

Advice: The 31-year-old backstop tagged White Sox’ left-hander Garrett Crochet for his 426-foot (111.4 mph EV) solo shot in the fourth inning, tying the game at 1-1. That would be their only scoring in the ballgame. Contreras struck out in each of his other three plate appearances in the contest, finishing the day 1-for-4. On the season, he’s now hitting .275/.398/.539 to go along with six homers, 11 RBI and a pair of stolen bases. Rotoworld Sunday, 2:16 pm

    • Idle against lefty
O'Hearn is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.

Advice: The lefty-hitting O'Hearn finds himself on the bench for the second day in a row while Cincinnati brings another southpaw (Nick Lodolo) to the hill. O'Hearn's absence will allow the Orioles to give infielder Gunnar Henderson a day off playing defense, as the third-year player instead serves as Baltimore's designated hitter. • Anthony Rizzo sitting Sunday vs. Tigers
Anthony Rizzo is not in the lineup for Sunday’s game against the Tigers.

Advice: Rizzo will get a day off a day after hitting a three-run homer. The 34-year-old will get a break with Oswaldo Cabrera getting a start across the diamond at first base and Jon Berti handling third. Rotoworld Sunday, 7:32 am
