Munoz (1-1) took the loss against the Dodgers on Monday, allowing six runs on seven hits and four walks while striking out five batters over 4.2 innings.

Advice: Munoz pitched well in his first two major-league starts, giving up three earned runs and posting a 14:3 K:BB over 11 innings, but he was no match for one of the league's top offenses. The rookie right-hander was blasted for four homers in his first three innings and needed 104 pitches to make in through 4.2 frames. In addition to the long balls, Munoz struggled with his control, issuing a career-high four free passes -- more than he had allowed in his first two starts combined. With both Jesus Luzardo (elbow) and Braxton Garrett (shoulder) currently in the midst of minor-league rehab assignments, Munoz could lose his spot in the Marlins' rotation in short order. • Roddery Muñoz allows four homers in loss to LAD
Roddery Muñoz allowed six runs on seven hits over 4 2/3 innings while picking up a loss Monday to the Dodgers.

Advice: Muñoz issues three walks and struck out five. He was staked a 2-0 lead in the first, but it evaporated quickly after he allowed a two-run homer to Shohei Ohtani and a solo blast to Freddie Freeman a batter later. He also gave up homers to Teoscar Hernandez and James Outman in a start that showed his ability to miss bats, but also his inconsistent command of that arsenal. Muñoz will be back on the bump with another tough match-up against the Phillies on Sunday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:30 pm
    • Works eighth inning
Duran struck out two batters in a scoreless eighth inning and earned a hold during Monday's win over Seattle.

Advice: Duran was called upon to face the Mariners' 9-1-2 hitters in a 3-1 contest. After earning a save in each of his first two appearances of 2024, he's picked up a hold in his last two games. Duran is the primary closing option in Minnesota but it appears there may be more of a committee than expected. Last season, he converted 27 of 32 saves and picked up only one hold. • Christian Yelich (backs) takes BP on field
Christian Yelich (back) was able to take part in batting practice on the field before Monday’s game against the Royals.

Advice: Brewers manager Pat Murphy told reporters that this was likely the final step before Yelich can return to the lineup. That could mean Yelich won’t take part in a rehab assignment, and assuming he recovers well from this session, the 32-year-old could be back in the lineup by the end of the week. • Hits on field Monday
Yelich (back) did some hitting on the field Monday, Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports Wisconsin reports.

Advice: It's the first time Yelich has hit on the field since he went on the injured list three weeks ago with a lower-back strain. Brewers manager Pat Murphy had indicated previously that it would likely be the final step before Yelich returns to action, although it's not clear whether he might need to go out on a rehab assignment first. The 32-year-old was off to a .333/.422/.744 start with five home runs in 11 contests before getting hurt. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:12 pm

    • Starting to hit for power
Arozarena went 1-for-5 with a solo home run and a stolen base Sunday against the Mets.

Advice: Arozarena took Edwin Diaz yard in the ninth inning to tie the game, tallying his fifth home run of the season and second in his last three starts. He also swiped his fifth base of the year and has yet to be caught. It's been an ugly start to the season for Arozarena, and even with this burst of power, he has failed to record multiple hits in a game since March 30. The slow start has been the result of some bad luck -- he has a .165 BABIP -- but he's also struck out at an elevated 29.8 percent clip across 141 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:30 am

    • Another turn through rotation
Munoz is scheduled to start Monday's game against the Dodgers in Los Angeles.

Advice: Though he's been blasted for 15 earned runs over 15.2 innings across his four outings at Triple-A Jacksonville this season, Munoz has breezed through his first two big-league starts with Miami, going 1-0 with a 2.45 ERA, 0.73 WHIP and 14:3 K:BB in 11 innings. A matchup with the stacked Dodgers offense will represent Munoz's toughest test to date, however, and even a mediocre performance rather than a disastrous one might not be enough to save his spot in the Miami rotation moving forward. The Marlins could get one or both of Jesus Luzardo (elbow) or Braxton Garrett (shoulder) back from the 15-day injured list later this week, and Munoz will be a prime candidate to move out of the rotation once either pitcher is activated. • Tosses scoreless frame
Jansen pitched one scoreless inning, allowing one hit in Sunday's 9-2 win over the Twins.

Advice: Jansen was locked into appearing in Sunday's contest no matter what, and he worked around an error by his defense and a single for a scoreless ninth inning. The 36-year-old is firmly locked into being Boston's closer in 2024, posting a 1.69 ERA and 1.22 WHIP with 14 strikeouts over 10.2 innings in 11 appearances while going 5-for-6 on save opportunities so far. • Runs wild against Mets
Caballero went 0-for-2 with three walks, three runs scored and four stolen bases during Sunday's 7-6 extra-inning win over the Mets.

Advice: Despite not tallying a hit, Caballero was all over the basepaths, reaching thrice via walk and becoming the third player since 2020 to accumulate four steals in a game. One of those swipes came in the 10th inning when he stole third after beginning the frame as the designated runner. He then scored on a walk-off triple by Jonny DeLuca. Caballero ranks third in MLB with 13 steals this season and holds a .317 on-base percentage. Rotowire.com Sunday, 5:06 pm
