    • Expected back Saturday
Lowe (oblique) is expected to be activated from the injured list Saturday, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Lowe has been on a rehab assignment for roughly a week, but he was with the big-league club in Chicago on Friday. He's projected to be activated Saturday to make his season debut and will almost certainly occupy a prominent spot in a struggling Rays' lineup. It will also be notable where Lowe plays defensively, as he started three games in center field during his rehab assignment. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:55 pm

    • Punches out 10 in win
Nola (4-1) allowed three runs on seven hits and a walk over eight innings Friday, striking out 10 and earning a win over the Padres.

Advice: Nola was terrific Friday, posting his first double-digit strikeout game since July 4, 2023. He threw 74 of 106 pitches for strikes and forced 14 whiffs in the victory. The veteran righty had yielded just one run through six frames before Graham Pauley's two-run shot in the seventh inning. Since coughing up six earned runs in his season debut, Nola has posted a stifling 1.29 ERA with a 33:10 K:BB over his last five starts (35 innings). He'll carry a 3.23 ERA into his next appearance, which is projected to come on the road against the Angels next week. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:28 pm

    • Kyle Schwarber homers, walks twice in blowout
Kyle Schwarber homered and walked twice against the Padres on Friday.

Advice: The Phillies connected on five homers in the blowout win, and Schwarber’s came as the leadoff hitter in the first. The 31-year-old has hit seven homers on the season, and he’ll likely be among the homer leaders throughout the 2024 campaign. Just keep in mind that the other categories will have their ups-and-downs, to put it nicely. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:28 pm

    • Aaron Nola whiffs 10 in victory over Padres
Aaron Nola picked up 10 strikeouts over eight innings of three-run baseball to get a win over the Padres on Friday.

Advice: Nola scattered seven hits allowed with one walk. The only real damage was a two-run homer by Graham Pauley, and that was in the seventh inning with the Padres trailing 9-1. Nola has now gone eight innings in back-to-back starts, and he’s posted a strong 3.20 ERA through the first month of the season. The Angels are next for the right-hander. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:28 pm

    • Jhoan Duran (oblique) to make rehab outing Saturday
Jhoan Duran (oblique) is scheduled to pitch in a minor league rehab game at Triple-A St. Paul on Saturday, after Friday’s scheduled appearance was rained out.

Advice: As long as everything goes well with that outing, it sounds like the Twins’ closer could be cleared to make his 2024 season debut. Duran threw 27 pitches his last time out and should be expected to have a similar workload on Saturday. It sounds like Griffin Jax’s usefulness from a fantasy perspective could be coming to an end soon. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:04 pm

    • Josh Lowe (oblique) nearing return to Rays
Josh Lowe (oblique) told reporters on Friday that his rehab is going great and that he feels that he’s ready to be activated from the injured list as soon as the Rays decide to do so.

Advice: The dynamic 26-year-old outfielder has played in six games during his minor league rehab assignment at Triple-A Durham, hitting .227/.346/.364 with a homer, five RBI and a 10/4 K/BB ratio over 26 plate appearances. It sounds like he could be back with the big league club any day now. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:53 pm

    • Struggling to get outs
Chapman (0-2) allowed two earned runs on two hits and no walks while striking out one to take the loss Thursday against the Brewers.

Advice: Chapman entered the game in the eighth inning to protect a one-run lead. He initially ran into some bad luck when a runner reached base on weak contact that didn't leave the infield, but the veteran lefty then threw a wild pitch and served up a home run to Gary Sanchez. Chapman began the season with 5.1 scoreless innings, but he's since allowed six earned runs across his last 2.2 frames and four appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:26 am
    • Reaches three times, swipes base
Betts went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, a run and a stolen base against the Nationals in Thursday's 2-1 victory.

Advice: Betts scored the decisive run in the contest by walking, swiping second base and crossing the plate on a Freddie Freeman double in the eighth inning. Betts seems to be running more frequently so far this season -- the stolen base was his sixth of the campaign through 27 contests, putting him well on pace to reach 20 steals for the first time since 2018. That has to be sweet music to his fantasy managers' ears, and Betts is paying huge dividends in other areas as well, slashing .374/.477/.636 with six homers, 21 RBI and 27 runs. • Takes loss despite quality start
Gore (2-2) took the loss against the Dodgers on Thursday, allowing one run on seven hits and two walks while striking out four batters over six innings.

Advice: Gore held the vaunted Dodgers offense mostly in check and notched his first quality start of the campaign, but he still was handed a loss as Washington's offense couldn't figure out Los Angeles starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto. The outing marked the first time this season Gore has completed six innings, and it was a nice bounce-back after he gave up three runs over a season-low four frames versus Houston his last time out. Gore holds a 3.12 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 31:8 K:BB over 26 innings on the season. Rotowire.com Thursday, 11:28 pm
