    • Rejoining rotation
Irvin will re-enter the Orioles' rotation following the injury to John Means (forearm), Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Advice: Each of Irvin's last two appearances have come in relief, but he's been terrific in seven starts this season, collecting a 2.90 ERA and 28:8 K:BB over 40.1 innings of work. Means' next turn comes up Monday in Baltimore against the Red Sox and Irvin would be on regular rest that day after throwing 3.1 relief innings in Wednesday's loss to the Cardinals. • Stuck with first loss
Garrett (5-1) took the loss Wednesday against Cleveland, allowing a run on two hits and a walk in one inning. He struck out two.

Advice: After entering with the game tied 3-3 in the seventh inning, Garrett allowed a leadoff single to David Fry, who advanced to second on a wild pitch before eventually scoring on a Johnathan Rodriguez base hit. It's the first loss of the year for the 31-year-old Garrett -- he's allowed just two earned runs in his last 13.1 innings. Despite Wednesday's setback, Garrett's emerged as a top option in the Mets' bullpen and could see the occasional save chance with Edwin Diaz temporarily shifting to a lower-leverage role. Overall, Garrett sports a 1.04 ERA with a 1.19 WHIP while posting a stellar 14.9 K/9 across 26 innings. Rotowire.com Today, 7:35 am
    • Stuck with loss Wednesday
Irvin (4-2) allowed five runs (three earned) on six hits and struck out two without walking a batter over 3.1 innings to take the loss Wednesday versus the Cardinals.

Advice: Irvin was called upon for a long-relief outing after John Means (elbow) exited following a rain delay. The severity of Means' injury is unknown at this time, but if it requires a stint on the injured list, Irvin has a clear path back to the rotation after making his last two appearances out of the bullpen. Irvin has pitched well this season with a 3.15 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 30:8 K:B over 45.2 innings through nine appearances (seven starts). Means' spot in the rotation is slated for a home start versus the Red Sox next week, and Irvin's appearance Wednesday would put him on schedule to step into that spot if necessary. • Works in relief Sunday
Irvin appeared out of the bullpen in Sunday's 6-3 win over the Mariners, collecting his first hold of the season while working around one hit and allowing no walks in two scoreless innings.

Advice: Despite posting a 2.90 ERA while starting in his first seven appearances of the season, Irvin was moved to the bullpen over the weekend while the Orioles were able to get by with a shortened rotation due to off days last Tuesday and Thursday. According to Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun, manager Brandon Hyde suggested that Irvin won't be a regular member of the bullpen moving forward, as the Orioles plan to move back to a six-man rotation while they're now in the midst of a stretch of 30 games in 31 days. Per Jake Rill of MLB.com, Irvin isn't scheduled to start any of the Orioles' remaining five games this week, but the southpaw could re-enter the rotation next week or the week after. • Secures win with elite performance
Hader (3-3) earned the win over the Angels in 10 innings on Tuesday, pitching two perfect innings while striking out four.

Advice: Hader put together a vintage performance to help the Astros get by the Angels, which included striking out the side in the 10th inning. He's now pitched multiple frames in two of his last three outings and is showing signs of dominance once again after a rough start to the year. Over his last 11 games, Hader has a 1.26 ERA, 0.77 WHIP and 24:5 K:BB in 14.1 innings, which equates to a 44.4 strikeout rate. For the year, he's now lowered his ERA to a 4.09 to complement a 1.09 WHIP and 35:9 K:BB in 22 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:53 am

    • Josh Hader gets win after two perfect innings
Josh Hader picked up a win after pitching perfect ninth and 10th innings against the Angels on Tuesday.

Advice: Hader fanned four while pitching two innings for the second time in his last three appearances. He’s allowed one run and struck out 14 in 9 1/3 innings this month, lowering his ERA from 6.39 to 4.09. Rotoworld Tuesday, 9:02 pm

    • Lands six-out save
Garrett earned the save Sunday against Miami, allowing one hit and no walks with four strikeouts over two scoreless innings.

Advice: Garrett took the ball in the eighth with the Mets leading 4-3 and, after striking out the side and getting four runs of support, stayed out to complete the ninth. It's unclear if Garrett would still have gotten the save chance if New York didn't extend its lead, but he's still a candidate for saves moving forward with Edwin Diaz moving out of the closer role temporarily to get back on track. • Reed Garrett with two-inning save
Reed Garrett struck out four Marlins and allowed one hit in two innings to close out the Mets’ 7-3 win on Sunday. The save was his second of the season.

Advice: Garrett has been lights out this season for the Mets and one of their most important players, let alone relievers. His strikeout rate is still hovering around an otherworldly 40% and Edwin Díaz’s disastrous week means Garrett is likely in line for some more save opportunities moving forward. • Cole Irvin gets hold in first relief appearance
Cole Irvin worked two scoreless innings for a hold Sunday in his first relief appearance of the season.

Advice: The Orioles are probably going to use a six-man rotation for most of the next month, so Irvin could be back in the mix next time through. It’s pretty fortunate for the Orioles that they can view him as their sixth starter in spite of his 4-1 record and 2.90 ERA in seven starts. Rotoworld Sunday, 1:54 pm
