    • Peter Lambert hit for seven runs in loss to Giants
Peter Lambert allowed seven runs over three innings in a loss to the Giants on Wednesday.

Advice: Lambert’s outing lasted just three innings as he was hit for seven runs. Six of those runs came in the second, starting with a solo homer by Michael Conforto to lead off the frame. The Giants would bat around the order before Lambert could escape the inning. Two hits in the third would bring in a seventh run. Lambert ends the day with a 7.61 ERA, 1.69 WHIP, and a 20/9 K/BB ratio across 23 2/3 innings. He lines up for a start against the Padres in San Diego on Monday. Rotoworld 45 minutes ago

    • Converts for second save
Hudson earned the save Wednesday against Miami, striking out one over a perfect inning.

Advice: Hudson got the first chance at ninth-inning duties after Evan Phillips (hamstring) was placed on the 15-day IL on Sunday and was perfect for his second save of the campaign. Until Phillips returns, the closing job should be Hudson's to lose, though he could have a shorter leash considering he's blown two of his other three save chances this season. • Jacob Webb nails down second save in 12th inning
Jacob Webb nailed down his second save of the season on Wednesday night, allowing just an unearned run to score in the 12th inning against the Nationals.

Advice: In a wild back-and-forth affair, Webb was the one who finally calmed things down and put an end to it in the 12th. He allowed a leadoff double to Luis Garcia Jr. that played the inherited runner, then retired the next three hitters in succession to end it. On the season, Webb now holds a 1.65 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and a 20/5 K/BB ratio over 16 1/3 innings. With Craig Kimbrel on the ropes, Webb doesn’t look like a bad speculative add in deeper formats until the O’s get their bullpen straightened out. Rotoworld Today, 7:41 pm

    • Chris Paddack strikes out ten in win over Mariners
Chris Paddack allowed one run with ten strikeouts across 5 1/3 innings in a win over the Mariners on Wednesday.

Advice: Paddack put together another solid start on Wednesday against the Mariners. He worked through three scoreless frames before Mitch Garver took him deep for a solo homer in the fourth. Paddack got out of trouble with two baserunners in the fifth, and got one out in the sixth before his day was done. He struck out ten batters for the second time this season, generating a whopping 19 whiffs. The 28-year-old right-hander will take a 4.34 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, and a 37/8 K/BB ratio across 37 1/3 innings into a start against the Yankees in Minnesota on Tuesday. Rotoworld Today, 7:35 pm

    • Takes another loss
Ross (1-4) took the loss Wednesday, allowing three runs on three hits and two walks across five innings against the Royals. He struck out two.

Advice: Each of the three hits Ross allowed went for extra bases, including back-to-back two-baggers by Maikel Garcia and Bobby Witt in the first inning -- both of whom scored via sacrifice fly. Ross has been handed a loss in four of his last five outings, owning a 5.88 ERA and a 19:8 K:BB across 26.0 innings during that stretch. He'll look to get back on track in a tentatively scheduled start Tuesday against Pittsburgh. Rotowire.com Today, 7:22 pm

    • Jack Leiter hit for six runs in no-decision
Jack Leiter allowed six runs -- four earned -- with three strikeouts over four innings in a no-decision against the A’s on Wednesday.

Advice: Leiter’s second start of the season didn’t quite go much better than his first. After a clean first inning, Leiter gave up a two-run homer to Shea Langeliers to start the second. A throwing error in the third allowed a third run to score before Langeliers plated a fourth with a groundout. Tyler Soderstrom later took Leiter deep for a two-run homer in the fourth inning. The fourth inning would end it for Leiter, who’s give up 11 earned runs over his first two starts. It’s possible the 24-year-old right-hander will retreats back to Triple-A. Rotoworld Today, 7:14 pm

    • Suffers first loss Wednesday
Wesneski (2-1) allowed three runs on seven hits across six innings to take the loss Wednesday against the Padres. He walked one and struck out three.

Advice: Wesneski pitched well enough, logging his second straight quality start in the process, but he got no run support in the 3-0 loss. The righty now has a strong 1.59 ERA overall, though it remains to be seen if he'll stick in the rotation moving forward. Justin Steele (hamstring) just returned from the injured list Monday, and Kyle Hendricks (back) could return in the near future, possibly as soon as May 17 following a rehab start over the weekend. For now, Wesneski is slated to start again Tuesday against Atlanta, but he may shift to a long-relief role after that. Rotowire.com Today, 7:14 pm

    • Michael Kopech closes out Rays to earn third save
Michael Kopech picked up his third save of the season on Wednesday night, working a scoreless ninth inning to protect a three-run lead against the Rays.

Advice: Despite the fact that he allowed a one-out single to Harold Ramirez, Kopech still made it look easy — battling right back to get Isaac Paredes to bounce into a game-ending double play. He needed just 10 pitches (seven strikes) to get the job done. Save chances have been few and far between for the White Sox this season, but Kopech has done a nice job overall with a 3.93 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and a 25/10 K/BB ratio across his 18 1/3 innings while converting three of his first four save chances. • Chris Flexen strikes out eight in win over Rays
Chris Flexen delivered a dominant performance in Wednesday’s victory over the Rays, racking up eight strikeouts over six innings of one-run baseball.

Advice: The 29-year-old right-hander scattered just three hits and one walk on the evening. The only blemish on his day came in the form of an RBI double by Isaac Paredes in the fourth inning. Flexen generated 12 swings and misses on 96 pitches in the ballgame — five on his fastball — while posting a CSW of 30 percent. He now holds a 4.29 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and a 25/13 K/BB ratio over 35 2/3 innings in eight appearances (six starts) on the season. He’s likely to take on the Nationals his next time out on Monday.
