    • Falters against Yankees
Arrighetti (0-4) took the loss against the Yankees on Wednesday, pitching five innings during which he allowed five runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out four batters.

Advice: Arrighetti was victimized by the long ball in the loss, as New York belted three homers against him. After posting his best career start in allowing two runs over 5.2 frames against Cleveland his previous time out, the rookie right-hander was back to scuffling Wednesday. He's lost four of his five starts this season while registering an 8.44 ERA, 2.02 WHIP and 25:13 K:BB over 21.1 innings. He may be bumped from the rotation with Cristian Javier (neck) slated to return from the injured list this weekend. Rotowire.com Today, 12:29 am
    • Pulled in fifth frame again
Civale (2-3) took the loss against the White Sox on Wednesday, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out four batters over 4.2 innings.

Advice: Civale began the game with four scoreless innings before serving up a Paul DeJong two-run homer in the fifth. The right-hander got the next two batters out but then yielded a single and a walk before getting the hook. It was the fourth straight game in which Civale was yanked from a start during the fifth inning, and he's recorded an ugly 9.82 ERA and 1.91 WHIP along with a 17:8 K:BB over 18.2 frames during that stretch. • Notches third save
Kopech registered a save against the Rays on Wednesday, allowing one hit in one scoreless inning.

Advice: Kopech had a relatively easy time closing things out with a three-run lead Wednesday -- though he gave up a one-out infield single, the right-hander got the next batter to ground into a game-ending double play. It was the third save of the season for Kopech, though his most recent save prior to Wednesday came all the way back on April 9. Four different pitchers have notched a save for the White Sox this season, but Kopech appears to be the team's primary closer, as he's the only one among the four with multiple save conversions. • Strikes out eight batters in win
Flexen (2-3) earned the victory against Tampa Bay on Wednesday, allowing one run on three hits and one walk while striking out eight batters over six innings.

Advice: Flexen isn't usually much of a strikeout pitcher, but he fanned eight Rays in the win, doubling his previous season-high mark. In addition, the right-hander notched his second quality start of the campaign and extended his streak of outings with two or fewer runs to five. After giving up 13 earned runs over his first 13.1 frames this season, Flexen has turned things around dramatically, posting a 1.61 ERA, 0.81 WHIP and 18:7 K:BB over 22.1 innings across his subsequent five appearances. • Peter Lambert hit for seven runs in loss to Giants
Peter Lambert allowed seven runs over three innings in a loss to the Giants on Wednesday.

Advice: Lambert’s outing lasted just three innings as he was hit for seven runs. Six of those runs came in the second, starting with a solo homer by Michael Conforto to lead off the frame. The Giants would bat around the order before Lambert could escape the inning. Two hits in the third would bring in a seventh run. Lambert ends the day with a 7.61 ERA, 1.69 WHIP, and a 20/9 K/BB ratio across 23 2/3 innings. He lines up for a start against the Padres in San Diego on Monday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:29 pm

    • Chris Paddack strikes out 10 in win over Mariners
Chris Paddack allowed one run with 10 strikeouts across 5 1/3 innings in a win over the Mariners on Wednesday.

Advice: Paddack put together another solid start on Wednesday against the Mariners. He worked through three scoreless frames before Mitch Garver took him deep for a solo homer in the fourth. Paddack got out of trouble with two baserunners in the fifth, and got one out in the sixth before his day was done. He struck out 10 batters for the second time this season, generating a whopping 19 whiffs. The 28-year-old right-hander will take a 4.34 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, and a 37/8 K/BB ratio across 37 1/3 innings into a start against the Yankees in Minnesota on Tuesday. • Takes another loss
Ross (1-4) took the loss Wednesday, allowing three runs on three hits and two walks across five innings against the Royals. He struck out two.

Advice: Each of the three hits Ross allowed went for extra bases, including back-to-back two-baggers by Maikel Garcia and Bobby Witt in the first inning -- both of whom scored via sacrifice fly. Ross has been handed a loss in four of his last five outings, owning a 5.88 ERA and a 19:8 K:BB across 26.0 innings during that stretch. He'll look to get back on track in a tentatively scheduled start Tuesday against Pittsburgh. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:22 pm

    • Jack Leiter hit for six runs in no-decision
Jack Leiter allowed six runs -- four earned -- with three strikeouts over four innings in a no-decision against the A’s on Wednesday.

Advice: Leiter’s second start of the season wasn’t much better than his first. After a clean first inning, Leiter gave up a two-run homer to Shea Langeliers to start the second. A throwing error in the third allowed a third run to score before Langeliers plated a fourth with a groundout. Tyler Soderstrom later took Leiter deep for a two-run homer in the fourth inning. The fourth inning would end it for Leiter, who’s give up 11 earned runs over his first two starts. It’s possible the 24-year-old right-hander will retreat back to Triple-A. • Suffers first loss Wednesday
Wesneski (2-1) allowed three runs on seven hits across six innings to take the loss Wednesday against the Padres. He walked one and struck out three.

Advice: Wesneski pitched well enough, logging his second straight quality start in the process, but he got no run support in the 3-0 loss. The righty now has a strong 1.59 ERA overall, though it remains to be seen if he'll stick in the rotation moving forward. Justin Steele (hamstring) just returned from the injured list Monday, and Kyle Hendricks (back) could return in the near future, possibly as soon as May 17 following a rehab start over the weekend. For now, Wesneski is slated to start again Tuesday against Atlanta, but he may shift to a long-relief role after that. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:14 pm
