    • Secures 17th save
Suarez picked up the save Friday against Kansas City. He pitched one-third of an inning with no strikeouts, allowing no runs on one hit.

Advice: Suarez entered to collect the last out in a bases-loaded jam with a five-run lead. After yielding a two-RBI single to Freddy Fermin, the San Diego closer induced a Nelson Velazquez flyout to secure the win. Suarez is now tied with Emmanuel Clase for second in the majors with 17 saves, trailing Ryan Helsley by one. The 33-year-old righty has been brilliant as the Padres closer this year, firing a 0.72 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and 24:5 K:BB over 25 innings. Rotowire.com 6 minutes ago
    • Robert Suárez gets one-out save against Royals
Robert Suárez retired one of the two batters he faced for a save Friday against the Royals.

Advice: The Padres were up 11-3 heading to the bottom of the ninth, but Stephen Kolek gave up hits to six of the eight batters he faced. That created a save situation for Suárez with the bases loaded in an 11-6 game. Suárez gave up a two-run single to the first batter he faced and then retired Nelson Velázquez for his 17th and easiest save of the year. Rotoworld 18 minutes ago
    • Adoils García goes hitless in fourth straight game
Adolis García went 0-for-4 as the Rangers’ cleanup man Friday against the Marlins.

Advice: This has turned into quite a slump for García; he’s batting .164 in 110 at-bats since Apr. 25. The Rangers still don’t have much reason to drop him out of the cleanup spot, since most of the hitters behind him are struggling, too. His first four weeks were so strong that he’s still hitting a reasonable .232/.289/.457 for the season. Rotoworld Today, 7:02 pm

    • Sitting Friday
Stanton is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Giants.

Advice: Stanton has struggled as of late, going 1-for-20 with eight strikeouts over his last five games, and he's now down to .225/.275/.471 for the season. Trent Grisham will start in center field Friday while Aaron Judge serves as the designated hitter against Giants right-hander Jordan Hicks. Rotowire.com Today, 4:05 pm
    • Out against lefty
Naylor is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Nationals, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

Advice: With Washington sending southpaw Patrick Corbin to the mound for the series opener, the lefty-hitting Naylor will get a break. David Fry will fill in at catcher and bat fifth. Rotowire.com Today, 11:40 am

    • Launches game-winning homer
Martinez went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Thursday's win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: The 36-year-old DH came up big for the Mets, breaking a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the eighth inning by crushing the first pitch he saw from Ryan Thompson to straightaway center field. Martinez is settling into a groove, slashing .279/.323/.508 over his last 15 games with five doubles, three homers and nine RBI, but his 36.9 percent strikeout rate during that time is still worrisome. • Ends hitless skid
Marte went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Mets.

Advice: Marte produced Arizona's only offense with a two-run double in the third inning. The hit snapped an 0-for-22 run for Marte, who despite the slump, still leads the team's qualified batters with a .265 average. He's also tops among teammates in doubles (13) and is tied for second in RBI (29). Rotowire.com Today, 4:41 am

    • J.D. Martinez hits go-ahead homer in eighth
J.D. Martinez hit a go-ahead homer in the eighth inning to help the Mets to a win over the Diamondbacks on Thursday.

Advice: Martinez came up huge for the Mets with a solo homer in the eighth to give New York a 3-2 lead and ultimately the victory. The 36-year-old isn’t the same dynamic offensive player he was a few years ago, but he’s still capable of providing success as seen in his .276/.313/.475 slash since joining the team near the end of April. • Ketel Marte drives home pair with double in loss
Ketel Marte hit a two-run double in a loss Thursday to the Mets.

Advice: Marte gave the D-backs a 2-0 lead with a two-run double in the third inning off Christian Scott. The infielder remains a solid — if at times inconsistent — option with 13 doubles, 29 RBI and .788 OPS over the first 56 games of the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:57 pm
