    • Surrenders six runs Saturday
Civale allowed six runs on eight hits and no walks while striking out three batters over 4.1 innings in a no-decision against the White Sox on Saturday.

Advice: Civale made it through three scoreless frames before serving up an Andrew Benintendi three-run homer in the fourth. The right-hander returned for the fifth frame but gave up three straight hits for another run before departing with one out, and both runners he left on base later came around to score. Civale began the campaign with three quality starts among his first four appearances, but he's fallen off since then, yielding 11 runs across nine innings over his subsequent two starts. He'll try to get back on track in his next start, which is tentatively lined up to be a home outing against the Mets next week. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:23 pm

    • Aaron Civale struggles over 4 1/3 against CWS
Aaron Civale was charged for six runs on eight hits over 4 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the White Sox on Saturday.

Advice: Civale was fortunate to not pick up a loss, as the no-decision has nothing to do with effective pitching. The right-hander was solid over the first three frames, but failed the second time through the lineup with three runs allowed in both the fourth and fifth frames. Civale has struggled in back-to-back outings, and his ERA for the month of April is a disappointing 5.06 despite pitching well to begin the month. He gets the Mets on Friday. • Maikel Garcia plates two, steals base in loss
Maikel Garcia went 2-for-5 with a pair of RBI and a stolen base as the Royals fell to the Tigers on Saturday evening in Motown.

Advice: Garcia led off the game with a single off of Casey Mize and came around to score the game’s first run on an RBI ground ball off the bat of Vinnie Pasquantino. He then drove in a run with an RBI single in the second inning and swiped second base before being stranded there. The 24-year-old third baseman also plated a run with a ground ball in the ninth inning. With his two-hit attack, he’s now hitting .222/.277/.380 with four homers, 20 RBI and seven stolen bases on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:11 pm

    • Plates two, steals base
Goldschmidt went 2-for-5 with two RBI while netting his first stolen base of the season in Saturday's 7-4 victory over the Mets.

Advice: Goldschmidt one-hopped a two-run double off the wall as part of a four-run first inning for the Cardinals. He also added an infield single, a stolen base and another run scored. The former MVP did also strike out three times Saturday and has fanned at an elevated 30.1 percent. The production on the whole has ticked up over the past week, though, with Goldschmidt going 9-for-27 (.333) with one home run and four RBI. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:04 pm
    • Paul Goldschmidt drives in two in win over Mets
Paul Goldschmidt went 2-for-5 with a double, two runs scored, two RBI, and a stolen base to lead the Cardinals to a 7-4 win over the Mets.

Advice: Goldschmidt seems to be warming up at the plate. He collected two hits on Saturday for his third multi-hit game in his last five contests. Goldschmidt drove in two runs with a double in the first inning and scored on a base hit by Masyn Winn. He singled in the fifth and swiped second for his first stolen base of the season before scoring on a balk. The 36-year-old first baseman is slashing .214/.306/.296 with two homers and 11 RBI across 113 plate appearances. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:37 pm
    • Oneil Cruz sits with injured ankle on Saturday
Oneil Cruz was held out of the Pirates’ starting lineup on Saturday due to an injured ankle.

Advice: The dynamic 25-year-old shortstop tweaked his ankle during Friday night’s game against the Giants and was given a night off on Saturday to rest it. For the time being, he’s considered day-to-day. Alika Williams will start in his place at shortstop and will bat ninth against Jordan Hicks and the Giants on Saturday evening in San Francisco. • Sitting with injured ankle
Cruz isn't in Pittsburgh's lineup Saturday against the Giants after tweaking his ankle during Friday's game, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Advice: Cruz hurt his ankle after sliding into third base during the ninth inning of Friday's game, and it is apparently bothering him enough to warrant a day off Saturday. While he recovers, Alika Williams will start at shortstop and bat ninth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:23 pm

    • Josh Lowe battling tightness in right hamstring
Rays’ outfielder Josh Lowe won’t be activated from the injured list on Saturday as he is now battling tightness in his right hamstring.

Advice: Lowe had told reporters on Friday that he was feeling great and ready to go, but it turns out he suffered a hamstring injury while rehabbing his injured oblique and will head for an MRI on Monday to determine the severity of that injury. So much for the Rays getting their dynamic outfielder back quickly. Look for the Rays to provide a new timeline after they get the results of Monday’s exam. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:49 pm

    • Won't be activated from IL
Lowe (oblique) will not be activated off the 10-day injured list by the Rays this weekend due to tightness in his right hamstring, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: Lowe spent the past week progressing through his rehab assignment in the minors. He was expected to be activated from the IL on Saturday, but the 26-year-old now has a new injury to deal with, this time to his right hamstring. Topkin notes that Lowe was concerned about the risk of playing through the injury and missing more time. Lowe will fly back to Florida to receive an MRI on Monday, which will help provide a better idea as to when the outfielder will be able to return to the majors. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:33 pm
