    • Jordan Hicks strikes out five in win vs. Rockies
Jordan Hicks allowed three runs with five strikeouts over five innings in a win over the Rockies on Wednesday.

Advice: After a clean first inning, a triple and a wild pitch brought the first run in to score for the Rockies in the second. Hicks ran into more trouble in the fifth, giving up two runs on four hits and a walk. His day was done after five frames on 92 pitches. He struck out five. The 27-year-old right-hander has enjoyed an early breakout as a starter, posting a 2.30 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, and a 35/16 K/BB ratio across 43 innings. Hicks will take on the Dodgers in San Francisco on Monday. Rotoworld Today, 8:30 pm

    • Gets back in win column
Singer (3-1) earned the win Wednesday against Milwaukee, allowing one run on five hits and two walks over 5.1 innings. He struck out four.

Advice: Singer tallied his first win in five starts, yielding one run for a third consecutive outing. He settled in nicely after allowing doubles to the first two batters he faced, keeping the Brewers off the scoreboard following the first frame. Singer has allowed more than two runs in just one start this season and owns a 2.36 ERA with 46 strikeouts across 45.2 innings. He's lined up for a start in Seattle on Monday. • Aaron Judge homers in win on Wednesday
Aaron Judge went 3-for-5 with a home run, two doubles, and three RBI against the Astros on Wednesday.

Advice: Judge is heating up at the plate, collecting multiple hits in three of his last four games. He started with a homer off Spencer Arrighetti to lead off the third inning. He added a double in the fourth and brought two more runs in to score with a double in the sixth. The 32-year-old slugger is slashing .237/.367/.482 with eight homers and 24 RBI across 170 plate appearances. Rotoworld Today, 6:48 pm

    • Beginning assignment Sunday
Snell (thigh) will throw a bullpen session Thursday and begin a rehab assignment at Single-A San Jose on Sunday, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: Snell began facing hitters Tuesday, and he has now been given the green light to test his injured thigh in a competitive setting. The left-hander may have his assignment moved to a higher-level affiliate after his rehab outing Sunday, though it is possible the Giants opt to return him to their rotation after just one start. • Blake Snell tabbed for rehab start on Sunday
Blake Snell (adductor) is scheduled to make a minor league rehab start at Single-A San Jose on Sunday.

Advice: The 31-year-old southpaw will first throw a bullpen session on Thursday, then if all goes well he’ll be cleared to take the mound in that rehab start. Snell has been shelved since April 24 due to a left adductor strain. It remains to be seen if he’ll require any additional rehab starts after Sunday’s tune-up, or if he’ll be ready to return to the Giants’ rotation if things go well there. Rotoworld Today, 4:04 pm

    • Brady Singer spins 5 1/3 frames to defeat Brewers
Brady Singer yielded one run over 5 1/3 innings on Wednesday in a win over the Brewers.

Advice: Singer notched four strikeouts and also issued a pair of walks. He was lifted following just 89 pitches (58 strikes) after giving up a one-out single to Willy Adames in the sixth inning. He wasn’t overpowering, generating just four swingign strikes and finishing with a lackluster 26 percent CSW. The pedestrian strikeout rate means there’s some looming regression in the run-prevention department, but Singer has clearly established himself as a reliable back-end rotation option for fantasy managers. He’ll bring a solid 2.36 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 46/15 K/BB ratio across 45 2/3 innings (eight starts) into a road tilt on Monday against the Mariners. Rotoworld Today, 1:56 pm

    • Throws off mound Wednesday
Rodriguez (shoulder) threw 15 pitches off the mound Wednesday, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Advice: It's the first time Rodriguez has thrown off a mound since he landed on the 15-day injured list a week ago with right shoulder inflammation. The hope is that the right-hander will be ready to go when his 15 days are up, but he still has some hurdles to clear in order to make that a reality. Rotowire.com Today, 1:26 pm

    • Out against left-hander
Carter is out of the lineup for the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Athletics.

Advice: The Athletics are sending southpaw JP Sears to the hill, so the left-handed hitting Carter will begin the early game of the twin bill on the bench. He should be back in the lineup for the nightcap versus right-hander Osvaldo Bido. Rotowire.com Today, 10:44 am

    • Delivers another quality start
Crawford came away with a no-decision Tuesday as the Red Sox fell 4-2 to Atlanta, giving up two runs on five hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out six.

Advice: The right-hander held a tough opponent in check, aside from a two-run shot by Jarred Kelenic in the third inning, but Crawford left the mound after 87 pitches (58 strikes) with the score tied 2-2. It was his fourth straight quality start and fifth of the season, and Crawford will take a 1.75 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 46:15 K:BB through 46.1 innings into his next outing, which is schedule to come at home early next week against the Rays.
