    • Slam Diego: Jake Cronenworth powers Padres to win
Jake Cronenworth blasted a tie-breaking seventh-inning grand slam on Wednesday, powering the Padres to a 6-2 victory over the Reds.

Advice: Cronenworth put San Diego ahead for good with a towering grand slam to right field off Reds standout reliever Fernando Cruz in the seventh inning. It was his fifth long ball of the season and lone hit in three at-bats. The 30-year-old on-base machine has helped hold things together this season as a mainstay in the heart of San Diego’s lineup. • Wins third straight
Ober (3-1) earned the win Wednesday over the White Sox, allowing four runs on six hits while striking out three over six innings.

Advice: After allowing two runs in the opening frame, Ober settled in to hold Chicago to just two more runs over his final five innings en route to a third consecutive winning decision. The four runs were the most Ober's allowed since he was tagged for eight runs in his first start of the year against Kansas City -- he'd held opponents to two runs or fewer in each of his subsequent four outings. Overall, the 28-year-old right-hander sports a 4.55 ERA with a 1.04 WHIP and 28:7 K:BB through 31.2 innings this season. Ober's currently slated for a home matchup with the Mariners in his next turn. • Bailey Ober gives up four runs, wins anyway
Bailey Ober won despite allowing four runs in six innings Wednesday against the White Sox.

Advice: It’s Ober’s worst start since he gave up eight runs on March 31, but still not too shabby. He’s sporting a 3-1 record, a 4.55 ERA and an excellent 1.04 WHIP. Next up is a home start versus the Mariners. Rotoworld Today, 2:27 pm

    • Getting rest Wednesday
Stott is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.

Advice: With a lefty (Patrick Sandoval) on the mound for the Angels and with the Phillies and Halos wrapping up their series with a day game after a night game, the lefty-hitting Stott will get a maintenance day. Whit Merrifield will replace Stott at second base. Rotowire.com Today, 11:28 am

    • Takes seat Wednesday
Chourio is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays.

Advice: The rookie will bow out of the lineup for the series finale while Jake Bauers picks up a start in left field alongside Blake Perkins and Sal Frelick. After opening his big-league career by producing hits in 11 of his first 13 games, Chourio has fallen into a massive slump since mid-April. Over his subsequent 14 games, Chourio has gone 6-for-43 (.140) while getting on base at a .196 clip. Rotowire.com Today, 8:51 am

    • Homers again Tuesday
Soto went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Orioles.

Advice: Soto cut the Yankees' deficit to 4-2 in the sixth inning with a 447-foot blast of Dean Kremer, his eighth homer of the year. Soto extended his hitting streak to eight games -- he's gone 10-for-30 with three homers and a 1.099 OPS in that span. The 25-year-old outfielder has gotten off to a stellar start in New York, slashing .325/.432/.588 with 24 RBI, 22 runs scored and two steals through his first 31 games. Rotowire.com Today, 8:08 am

    • Collects save in season debut
Duran gave up one hit and struck out a batter during a scoreless ninth inning to pick up the save during Tuesday's 6-5 win over the White Sox.

Advice: In his first appearance since being reinstated from the injured list, Duran picked up right where he left off last season. He allowed a leadoff single to Tommy Pham before retiring the next three batters, ending the game with a four-pitch strikeout of Andrew Vaughn. It wasn't clear heading into Tuesday's game whether or not Duran would immediately slide back into the closer role after missing the first month of the season, but it appears manager Rocco Baldelli will trust the 26-year-old righty to work the ninth inning going forward. • Bo Bichette drives in run in loss
Bo Bichette went 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI in a loss to the Royals on Tuesday.

Advice: Bichette continues to make an elite amount of contact but also swing at pitches that he can’t really do much damage on. As a result, he has a .213 average and just a .306 slugging percentage on the season. The RBI was his 11th of the year, and while the 26-year-old could likely use a more selective approach at the plate, he’s too talented to take out of your lineup right now. • Idle against lefty
Suwinski isn't starting Tuesday against the Athletics, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Advice: Southpaw Alex Wood will toe the slab Tuesday for the A's, forcing Suwinski's left-handed bat out of the lineup. Edward Olivares will start in right field instead and bat fifth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:32 pm
