    • Jarren Duran reaches three times in win Wednesday
Jarren Duran smacked an RBI triple, scored a run and drew a pair of walks as the Red Sox triumphed over the Giants on Wednesday evening at Fenway Park.

Advice: Duran worked a walk off of Daulton Jefferies in the third inning and came around to score the go-ahead run on an RBI ground out off the bat of Rob Refsnyder. He then plated a run of his own with a two-out RBI triple that chased Jefferies in the fourth inning. He has done a nice job atop the Red Sox’ lineup to begin the season, slashing .269/.347/.400 with one homer, 15 RBI and nine stolen bases. Rotoworld 20 minutes ago

    • Zack Wheeler collects win over Angels on Wednesday
Zack Wheeler struck out six and yielded one run over five innings on Wednesday in a win over the Angels.

Advice: Wheeler did what he does best out in Los Angeles, pounding the strike zone and limiting hard contact against an injury-depleted Angels lineup. The 33-year-old fantasy ace threw 67 of 106 pitches for strikes and allowed just five batted balls with an exit velocity in excess of 95 mph. A second-inning solo shot from veteran utility specialist Ehire Adrianza represented the lone tally against him over five frames. He’s allowed just one run over 18 1/3 innings in his last three starts since April 20. He’ll bring a sparkling 1.91 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 52/12 K/BB ratio across 42 1/3 innings (seven starts) into a home outing on Wednesday against the Blue Jays. Rotoworld Today, 4:06 pm

    • Placed on injured list
The Red Sox placed Yoshida on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a left thumb strain, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Advice: MRI results revealed a strain in Yoshida's left thumb after he jammed his hand during Sunday's game against the Cubs, and there is no telling whether or not the 30-year-old outfielder will be able to return when eligible May 10. The newly signed Dominic Smith will take Yoshida's place on the active roster. Rotowire.com Today, 3:58 pm

    • Solid rehab outing
Cubs manager Craig Counsell said Wednesday that everything went well during Steele's (hamstring) rehab start with Triple-A Iowa, and the left-hander will meet with the team Friday after a Thursday workout, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Advice: The 28-year-old hurt his hamstring in late March, but he's in the latter stages of his rehab program. It was only the first rehab outing for Steele, but if he checks out well Friday it's possible his next start comes with the big-league club. Rotowire.com Today, 3:25 pm

    • Mason Miller silences Pirates in non-save spot
Mason Miller fired a perfect ninth inning on Wednesday in a non-save situation against the Pirates.

Advice: Miller got the call to protect a four-run lead in the final frame after needing 16 pitches to close out Tuesday’s victory less than 24 hours ago. He got Jack Suwinski to ground out and fanned Henry Davis before coaxing a game-ending ground out from Ke’Bryan Hayes. He averaged 100.8 mph on his fastball and needed just 10 pitches to spin a perfect frame. The hard-throwing 25-year-old righty has reeled off 12 consecutive scoreless appearances since April 2, and has converted eight saves to go along with a microscopic 1.26 ERA, 0.77 WHIP and 29/4 K/BB ratio across 14 1/3 innings of work. Simply put, he’s one of the best relievers in baseball already. Rotoworld Today, 3:07 pm

    • Red Sox place Masataka Yoshida on 10-day IL
Red Sox placed OF Masataka Yoshida on the 10-day injured list with a left hand injury.

Advice: The 30-year-old was held out of Tuesday’s lineup with the injury and is going to miss at least a couple of weeks while recovering. No word yet on the corresponding move, but it sounds like Dominic Smith’s deal could be finalized before first pitch on Wednesday and he could jump right onto the active roster. • Gets Wednesday off
O'Hoppe is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Phillies, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Advice: O'Hoppe will get the afternoon off after he had started behind the plate each of the past three games. Matt Thaiss will handle catching duties for the Angels in the series finale. Rotowire.com Today, 12:40 pm

    • Cora: Masataka Yoshida (hand) headed to IL
Red Sox placed Masataka Yoshida on the injured list with a left hand injury, according to manager Alex Cora.

Advice: Yoshida was absent from Tuesday’s lineup and now he’ll be out for an extended period of time. The move hasn’t come over the transaction wire, so it’s unknown if he’ll be on the 10-day or 15-day. Rotoworld Today, 11:46 am

    • Headed to injured list
Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Wednesday that Yoshida (hand) will be placed on the 10-day injured list, Rob Bradford of WEEI.com reports.

Advice: Yoshida had been set to undergo an MRI after jamming his left hand during Sunday's game versus the Cubs. While the results of that exam aren't known, the injury is evidently bad enough to result in an IL stint, which will likely be made official shortly before Wednesday's game against the Giants. First baseman Dominic Smith is reportedly set to sign a major-league deal with the Red Sox, so he'll presumably take Yoshida's spot on the 26-man active roster. Rotowire.com Today, 11:43 am
