    • MRI comes back clean on Pete Fairbanks’ arm
An MRI on Pete Fairbanks’ right arm came back clean for any structural damage.

Advice: Fairbanks landed on the injured list earlier this week with an undisclosed nerve-related condition, so it’s at least an encouraging development that additional imaging didn’t turn up any structural damage. The 30-year-old righty has indicated that his latest issue is unrelated to previous flareups of Raynaud’s syndrome that he’s dealt with. Given the uncertainty surrounding his diagnosis, there isn’t a clear timetable for his return. Rotoworld Today, 8:14 am
    • Tests come back clean
Fairbanks (arm) has no structural damage to his arm, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Fairbanks had an MRI done Tuesday and then had unspecified additional testing done later in the week. All exams came back clean, which is good news and provides some optimism that he'll avoid a lengthy absence. However, both Fairbanks and the team have cautioned that he does not have a timeline to be activated from the injured list. Rotowire.com Today, 7:29 am
    • Dominant again in seventh save
Miller earned the save in Friday's 3-2 win over the Orioles, striking out two in a perfect inning.

Advice: Miller delivered another lights-out performance Friday, stranding the free runner at second base in the 10th inning to seal a one-run Oakland victory. After allowing a pair of runs in his first appearance this year, Miller's held opponents scoreless in his subsequent 11.1 innings while giving up just one hit and one walk in his last seven appearances. The 25-year-old right-hander is up to seven saves on the year with a 1.46 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and an outstanding 18.24 K/9. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:39 pm

    • Mason Miller perfect in 10th for save
Mason Miller pitched a perfect 10th with a one-run lead for a save Friday against the Orioles.

Advice: The automatic runner should score most of the time in these situations, resulting in an undeserved blown save, but not when it’s Miller on the mound. He got two strikeouts and a weak groundout in racking up his seventh save tonight. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:33 pm

    • Keeps rolling with another save
Miller notched a save against the Yankees on Thursday, pitching 1.1 scoreless innings during which he allowed one hit and struck out three batters.

Advice: Miller continues to flourish in the closer role -- he's a perfect six-for-six in save opportunities so far and hasn't given up a run since his first outing of the campaign. The right-hander's heater is also paying off with big strikeout numbers, as he's racked up an impressive 23 punchouts over 11.1 frames. Despite the fact that Miller plays for one of the league's worst teams, he's quickly evolving into one of fantasy's most desirable closers. Rotowire.com Thursday, 11:58 pm

    • Mason Miller records four-out save vs. Yankees
Mason Miller recorded a four-out save on Thursday against the Yankees.

Advice: Miller might be the most electrifying pitcher in baseball at the moment. Athletics manager Mark Kotsay handed him the ball for a four-out save opportunity at Yankee Stadium and he immediately responded by striking out Jose Trevino on a 101 mph fastball to end the eighth inning. He came back out to protect a two-run lead in the final frame and recorded two additional strikeouts to successfully work around a one-out infield single from Anthony Volpe. The hard-throwing 25-year-old former top pitching prospect has converted all six of his save opportunities this season to go along with a microscopic 1.59 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 23/4 K/BB ratio across 11 1/3 innings (nine appearances). • Short start in loss
King (2-2) took the loss Tuesday against the Rockies, allowing six runs (four earned) on eight hits and three walks while striking out five in 3.2 innings.

Advice: King had given up just one run through three innings before things took a turn for the worst in the fourth. Two singles and an error loaded up the bases before King served up a grand slam to Brendan Rodgers to give the Rockies their first lead of the game. The damage didn't stop there, as King would then find himself with the bases loaded again in that same inning and walked in another run before finally being pulled. After flirting with a no-hitter his last time out, King had arguably his worst start of the year and has given mixed results through his first six outings. The 29-year-old now owns a 4.11 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 34:18 K:BB in 30.2 innings. He'll look to get back in the win column versus the Phillies this weekend. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 4:00 am

    • Michael King gets roughed up in fourth in loss
Michael King was tagged for six runs — four earned — in 3 2/3 innings by the Rockies on Tuesday.

Advice: King’s first start at Coors Field was going OK until the fourth, when two singles, an error and a grand slam gave the Rockies the lead. Alas, that still wasn’t the end of it, as King went on to allow a single, a double, an intentional walk and an unintentional walk to push in another run. He was finally pulled at that point, and Stephen Kolek was able to strand the bases loaded. King dropped to 2-2 with a 4.11 ERA. He’s still a decent enough play versus the Phillies next time out. • Fans side for fifth save
Miller tossed a clean ninth inning, striking out all three batters he faced to pick up his fifth save during Monday's 2-0 win over the Yankees.

Advice: Miller needed just 14 pitches to strike out the side and finish off the listless Yankees. The game was scoreless through eight, but a Zack Gelof two-run homer gave the A's the lead in the top of the ninth, allowing Miller the opportunity to close out his fifth save. All five saves have come in Miller's last five appearances as he's put a stranglehold on the ninth-inning role for Oakland. The effort dropped his ERA to 1.80 and his WHIP to 1.00 while lifting his strikeout rate to 18.0 K/9. Rotowire.com Monday, 2:43 pm
