    • Lands five-out save
Holmes earned the save Wednesday, allowing one hit with three strikeouts over 1.2 scoreless innings against Baltimore.

Advice: Holmes capped off an excellent game by the Yankees pitching staff, as they yielded three hits and no runs as a whole. Individually, Holmes logged three strikeouts for the first time all year and his 1.2 innings of work marked his longest outing of the campaign. He's yet to allow an earned run during 15 innings and is tied for the MLB lead in saves with 10. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:54 pm
    • Clay Holmes locks down five-out save against O’s
Clay Holmes slammed the door on the Orioles on Wednesday night, getting the final five outs to preserve a two-run advantage.

Advice: Holmes was called upon with two men on and one out in the eighth inning, and he quelled that threat by striking out Gunnar Henderson and Adley Rutschman in succession to end the inning. He returned for the ninth where he allowed a leadoff single to Ryan O’Hearn and nothing more. The 31-year-old right-hander has been unbelievable so far this season, hurling 15 innings of scoreless baseball with a 16/1 K/BB ratio while converting 10 of his first 11 save chances. Studly. • Lands six-out win
Hader (1-2) earned the win Tuesday, allowing one unearned run on one hit and one walk with four strikeouts over two innings against the Guardians.

Advice: Hader surrendered a double to David Fry in the 10th inning that plated designated runner Josh Naylor as the go-ahead run. Still, Hader ended up with his first victory of the campaign following a Victor Caratini walk-off homer in the home half of the frame. After a bounce-back 2023 season, Hader looks to have regressed to his poor 2022 form (5.22 ERA across 56 appearances), producing a 6.39 ERA across the first 12.2 innings of his Astros tenure. • Victim of home run ball in loss
King (2-3) took the loss Sunday against the Phillies, allowing six runs on six hits and three walks while striking out six over 5.1 innings.

Advice: King struggled to keep the ball in the yard in this one. Bryson Stott got to him for a pair of two-run homers and J.T. Realmuto swatted one out against him in the sixth. His lack of command continues to haunt him, as he's now allowed 10 home runs in seven starts and has walked multiple batters in all but one appearance. The 29-year-old sports a 5.00 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 40:21 K:BB in 36 innings and will line up for a road start against the Diamondbacks his next time out. Rotowire.com Monday, 3:40 am

    • Takes care of business in ninth
Alvarado pitched a perfect ninth to pick up the save in an 8-6 win over the Padres on Sunday. He struck out two.

Advice: Alvarado punched out Eguy Rosario and Luis Campusano before sealing the deal on a line out from Jurickson Profar for his first save since April 20. Alvarado has converted all five of his save chances, though he has an inflated ERA after giving up five runs in just two-thirds of an inning in his first appearance of the season. The hard-throwing lefty owns a 5.06 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 12:7 K:BB in 10.2 innings. Rotowire.com Monday, 3:16 am
    • Jose Alvarado slams door on Padres in ninth inning
Jose Alvarado slammed the door on the Padres in the ninth inning on Sunday, retiring all three batters that he faced to protect a two-run advantage.

Advice: Alvarado came out guns blazing in this one, striking out Eguy Rosario and Luis Campusano before getting Jurickson Profar on a line drive to right field to end it. The 28-year-old left-hander has struggled a bit to start the season — sporting a 5.06 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and a 12/7 K/BB ratio over 10 2/3 innings, but he has converted all five of his save chances and remains the Phillies’ go-to option in the ninth inning. • Michael King hit hard in loss to Phillies Sunday
Michael King was hit hard in a losing effort against the Phillies on Sunday afternoon, surrendering six runs on six hits across 5 1/3 innings.

Advice: On the plus side for fantasy managers, he still did manage to punch out six batters on the afternoon while issuing three free passes. His troubles in this one stemmed from his inability to keep the ball in the yard, as Bryson Stott crushed a pair of two-run homers off of him and J.T. Realmuto added one of his own. King got 10 swings and misses on 95 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 31 percent. He’ll look to get back on track as he carries a 5.00 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and a 40/21 K/BB ratio (36 innings) into Saturday’s showdown against the Diamondbacks in Arizona. Rotoworld Sunday, 4:19 pm

    • Wins in scoreless outing
Leclerc (2-2) earned the win Friday, striking out two over a scoreless eighth inning against Cincinnati.

Advice: Leclerc, who earlier this season lost the closer's job, has reclaimed the confidence of manager Bruce Bochy. Friday's outing was his fifth consecutive scoreless appearance, with the last three coming in the eighth inning of games. Rotowire.com Saturday, 7:22 am

    • Secures ninth save
Holmes struck out two in a perfect ninth inning Tuesday to record his ninth save of the season in a 4-3 win over the A's.

Advice: The right-hander needed only nine pitches (seven strikes) to carve up the bottom of the Oakland order. Holmes has been brilliant to begin the season, converting nine of 10 save chances with a 0.00 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 10:1 K:BB through 12 innings, and he sits one ahead of the Padres' Robert Suarez for the MLB saves lead.
