      Ronald Acuña hit a solo homer while going 2-for-5 in an extra-inning loss to the Dodgers on Friday.

      Advice: Acuña Jr. hasn’t shown a ton of power in the early portion of the season, but he came through in a big way with a game-tying homer in the eighth off Daniel Hudson in the eighth. That’s just the second roundtripper of the season for the reigning MVP, but it’s hard to fathom the power isn’t going to come from a player that swatted 41 homers in 2023.       Austin Riley went went 2-for-5 with a solo homer in a loss to the Dodgers on Friday.

      Advice: Riley got Atlanta on the board with a solo homer in the first off Gavin Stone, and that’d be the last run they’d score with Stone in the game. Riley is now up to 17 RBI and three homers to go with a disappointing .725 OPS over 124 at-bats. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:15 pm

    • Steven Kwan reaches base three times in loss
      Steven Kwan went 2-for-3 with a pair of singles and a walk as the Guardians were shut out by the Angels on Friday night.

      Advice: As a team, the Guardians were only able to muster six hits and a pair of walks on the night, so Kwan definitely did his part. He has been a tremendous catalyst atop the Guardians’ lineup this season, slashing a robust .356/.406/.500 with three homers, 11 RBI and three stolen bases through his first 31 ballgames.       Arozarena went 1-for-2 with three walks, a solo home run and a second run scored in Friday's 10-8 win over the Mets.

      Advice: The 29-year-old outfielder has had a brutal start to 2024 that includes what would be a career-high 29.1 percent strikeout rate and a career-low .455 OPS, but Arozarena came through with a solid performance in a wild win. His fourth-inning long ball off Dedniel Nunez was his fourth homer in 32 games to go along with four steals, and Arozarena has contributed a respectable 14 runs and 15 RBI despite his woeful .145/.242/.265 slash line.       Civale escaped with a no-decision Friday in Tampa Bay's 10-8 win over the Mets, coughing up seven runs on six hits and a walk over 4.2 innings. He struck out five.

      Advice: New York tagged him for three runs in the second inning and four more in the fifth, but Civale still left the mound with the Rays ahead 9-7. The right-hander tossed 52 of 77 pitches for strikes as he allowed five or more runs for the third straight outing. The rough patch has sent his ratios soaring, and Civale will carry a 6.14 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 39:10 K:BB through 36.2 innings into his next start, which lines up to come at home next week against the White Sox.       Yusei Kikuchi limited the Nationals to one run in six innings and fanned seven in a no-decision Friday.

      Advice: Kikuchi left with a two-run lead and then watched the bullpen give up seven runs in two innings. This is probably the Jays’ ugliest loss yet, particularly since they were facing Patrick Corbin. Kikuchi is certainly doing his part thus far, amassing a 2.72 ERA and a 43/9 K/BB ratio in 39 2/3 innings.       Kikuchi came away with a no-decision in Friday's 9-3 loss to the Nationals, allowing one run on six hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out seven

      Advice: He carved up the Washington lineup en route to his fourth quality start of the season, generating 34 called or swinging strikes among his 100 pitches, and Kikuchi left the mound with Toronto ahead 3-1. Unfortunately, Erik Swanson immediately coughed up the lead in the seventh inning, denying Kikuchi his third win. The southpaw will take a 2.72 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 43:9 K:BB through 39.2 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come at home next weekend against the Twins.       Perez (1-2) took the loss Friday, giving up three runs on eight hits over 5.1 innings as the Pirates fell 3-2 to the Rockies. He struck out four without walking a batter.

      Advice: The veteran lefty was engaged in a scoreless pitchers' duel with Cal Quantrill through five innings, but Perez ran out of gas in the sixth. He exited after 88 pitches (61 strikes), coming up two outs short of his fourth quality start of the season.       Randy Arozarena blasted a 445-foot home run on Friday, helping to power the Rays to a 10-8 victory over the Mets.

      Advice: Wearing the Rays’ new city connect uniforms for the first time, the slumping 29-year-old outfielder appeared to be re-energized. He drew a walk in the third inning and came around to score on a sacrifice fly by Alex Jackson. Arozarena then demolished a 1-1 fastball from Dedniel Nunez in the fourth inning, belting his 445-foot (109.1 mph) solo shot. He also walked in the sixth and eighth innings, finishing the night 1-for-2 with a pair of runs scored. Even with the strong night though, Arozarena is still hitting a pitiful .145/.242/.265 on the season with four homers, 10 RBI and four stolen bases. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:41 pm
