      Bello (6-3) took the loss Saturday as the Red Sox fell 6-1 to the White Sox, giving up five runs on nine hits and three walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out two.

      Advice: Only two of the hits off the right-hander went for extra bases, but one of those was a grand slam by Gavin Sheets in the fifth inning. Bello has been tagged for at least three runs in five straight starts, a stretch in which he's stumbled to a 6.75 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and 24:12 K:BB over 26.2 innings.     • Bello gives up five runs, grand slam Saturday
      Brayan Bello allowed five runs in 4 2/3 innings and took the loss against the White Sox on Saturday.

      Advice: Bello gave up nine hits, walked three and struck out two. Things came apart for Bello in the fifth inning when he walked two batters with two outs to load the bases before Gavin Sheets took him deep for a grand slam. Understandably frustrated, Bello slammed his glove in the dugout after he was removed from the game. That’s been the tale of Bello’s season so far as he has just a 70 percent left on base percentage.     • Danny Jansen doubles, drives in two in win
      Danny Jansen went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI in the Blue Jays 7-0 win over the Athletics on Saturday.

      Advice: Jansen put the Blue Jays on the board in the first inning with a sacrifice fly to score Spencer Horwitz from third. He then doubled in the fifth to bring Bo Bichette home from second and came around to score on a base hit by Isiah Kiner-Falefa. Jansen added a base hit in the ninth.     • Taking dry swings
      Muncy (oblique) has begun taking dry swings and doing plyo-ball workouts, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

      Advice: This is a step forward for Muncy, as he had previously been unable to swing a bat at all after continuing to experience soreness in his oblique. However, manager Dave Roberts said last week that the third baseman is on a "slow program," so Muncy doesn't appear to be particularly close to a return.       Hernandez went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Friday's 2-1 extra-innings win over the Yankees.

      Advice: Pitching dominated the matchup between two of the league's top teams, and Hernandez was responsible for half of the Dodgers' four hits. His second knock came in the 11th inning, when he doubled to left field to plate Los Angeles' only two runs of the game.       Mason Miller fired a perfect ninth inning on Friday against the Blue Jays to pick up his first win of the season.

      Advice: Miller’s fastball velocity was down slightly in this one as he failed to touch triple-digits on three fastballs, but was still averaging a sizzling 99.4 mph in this one. He needed just 12 pitches to strike out a pair of batters in a flawless ninth inning before JJ Bleday delivered a walk-off homer in the bottom of the frame to give him his first win of the year. The hard-thrwoing 25-year-old former top prospect has blossomed into arguably the best reliever in baseball this season with 12 saves to go along with a stellar 2.20 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 54/11 K/BB ratio across 28 2/3 innings (22 appearances).       Pillar went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 7-1 loss to the Astros.

      Advice: Pillar had gone 1-for-10 over his first four games in June before this multi-hit effort. His second-inning homer was all the Angels could put up against Framber Valdez, who pitched a complete game. Pillar is up to seven homers, 26 RBI, 17 runs scored and a .324/.379/.590 slash line over 117 plate appearances between the Angels and the White Sox this season. Despite his strong numbers recently, he's been on the bench for two of the last five games, which suggests Pillar doesn't have a full-time role against right-handed pitchers.
