    • Tanner Bibee struggles in loss to Angels on Friday
Tanner Bibee struggled in a losing effort against the Angels on Friday night, allowing six runs on eight hits over his five innings of work.

Advice: Bibee walked one and struck out four in the contest. The 25-year-old right-hander followed up one of his best starts of the season with an absolute dud against a depleted Angels’ squad on Friday night. The bulk of the damage came via the long ball, with Nolan Schanuel clubbing a solo homer in the third inning and Mickey Moniak adding a three-run blast in the fourth. Bibee generated nine swings and misses on 91 pitches on the night, posting an underwhelming CSW of only 23 percent. He’ll look to get back on track as he carries a 4.46 ERA and 1.38 WHIP into Wednesday’s matchup against the Tigers. Rotoworld 11 minutes ago

    • Locks down sixth save
Alvarado earned the save in Friday's 4-3 win over the Giants, allowing one hit while logging a strikeout in a scoreless ninth inning.

Advice: Alvarado allowed a leadoff single before setting down the next three Giants, closing out the one-run victory for his sixth save of the season. After giving up five runs in his first outing of the year, Alvarado's allowed just one run in his subsequent 13 innings. The left-hander lowered his ERA to 3.95 with a 1.24 WHIP and 14:7 K:BB on the campaign. Rotowire.com 28 minutes ago
    • Ronel Blanco allows three over six against Seattle
Ronel Blanco was charged for three runs over six innings Friday in a no-decision against the Mariners.

Advice: He gave up five hits while walking three and striking out six. Blanco gave up a pair of homers Friday, one of them being a solo shot by Jorge Polanco and the other a two-run homer by Dylan Moore. The right-hander exited with a 3-1 deficit, but the Astros were able to score four after he left to keep him off the hook. Blanco will take a 2.09 ERA into his next start which is scheduled for Thursday against the Yankees. Rotoworld 40 minutes ago

    • Pulled after four
Nola did not factor into the decision Friday, allowing two runs on four hits and four walks over four innings. He struck out four.

Advice: Both of the Giants' runs came in the second inning on a Thairo Estrada double, though it certainly could've been a lot worse -- Nola needed 46 pitches to get through the frame, issuing four walks. The right-hander was ultimately pulled after throwing 89 pitches through four innings, as he failed to qualify for the win. Nola, who'd gone eight innings in each of his previous two starts, is 4-1 on the season with a 3.32 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 40:15 K:BB across seven outings (43.1 innings). Nola's currently lined up for a road matchup with the Marlins in his next start. Rotowire.com 44 minutes ago

    • Aaron Nola pulled after four versus Giants
Aaron Nola was lifted after allowing two runs and walking four in four innings Friday against the Giants.

Advice: A really odd start for Nola, who pretty much always lasts five innings unless he’s truly bad or hurt. Tonight, though, he walked four for the second time this season — he did that just once between 2022 and ’23 — and the Phillies didn’t think it was worth sending him back out for the fifth at 89 pitches. They were probably right, too, as the bullpen went on to allowing one run over five innings in a 4-3 win. Nola’s velocity is down, and he’s struggled to generate as many missed swings as usual. The hope is that he’ll get stronger, and he probably deserves the benefit of the doubt, given his history. Fortunately, even though his peripherals are well off, he has a 3.32 ERA through seven starts. Rotoworld 59 minutes ago

    • José Alvarado notched sixth save for Phillies
José Alvarado threw a scoreless ninth in a one-run game for his sixth save Friday against the Giants.

Advice: Alvarado gave up five runs on Opening Day and remained wild for a spell after that, but he’s walked just one in his last nine appearances and given up one run in 14 appearances. He’s recorded six of the Phillies’ 11 saves for the year, and he could maintain something close to that ratio going forward. Rotoworld 59 minutes ago
    • Nolan Arenado doubles twice, drives in three
Nolan Arenado drove in all three runs for the Cardinals while doubling twice against the White Sox on Friday.

Advice: Arenado doubled home two runs in the first, and another in the fifth. The 33-year-old has picked up eight two-baggers in the 2024 campaign, and the pair of hits ups his slash to .279/.338/.369. The power really hasn’t shown up for Arenado so far, but a couple of extra-base hits is always nice to see. Rotoworld 59 minutes ago

    • Craig Kimbrel (back) ready to resume closer’s role
Orioles’ manager Brandon Hyde told reporters on Friday that Craig Kimbrel (back) is ready to return to the team’s closer role.

Advice: He may have gotten there sooner if the Orioles had a save chance arise over the past couple of days, but it sounds like the 35-year-old hurler is ready to rock for the weekend. Any usefulness that Yennier Cano may have had from a fantasy perspective is now gone in most mixed leagues. Rotoworld Today, 3:14 pm
    • Rangers place Nathan Eovaldi (groin) on 15-day IL
Rangers placed RHP Nathan Eovaldi on the 15-day injured list with a right groin strain.

Advice: Eovaldi suffered the injury while twirling a gem against the Nationals on Thursday afternoon. The Rangers have not yet commented on how long they expect the 34-year-old right-hander to be sidelined for. Yerry Rodriguez was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock to take his place on the roster for the time being. Rotoworld Today, 2:42 pm
